Jake not letting Rahman Jr specify the weight and rehydration stipulation whilst also drumming home the fact that Rahman jr is a bigger guy is a game Jake plays well. He's manipulated the odds as much in his favour as he can. And Rahman Jr is right. He is taking the lowest pay cheque out of everyone Jake has fought. If Jake is here to 'improve' boxing, the highest pay cheque should go to his first professional out-and-out boxing opponent. As it stands, Jake's biggest cheques have gone to MMA & NBA stars and YT'ers. Jake could easily have fought at HW and made it fair game. They could've created a rehydration clause at HW to not let Rahman Jr blow up way beyond Jake, but if you talk the talk, you must walk the walk. Jake deserves credit for taking on Rahman Jr but he doesn't deserve as much credit because he's added handicaps. If he didn't talk so much crap, he wouldn't sell as much. That's facts. So I understand why he's doing it, but you can't keep handicapping your opponents just like he couldn't keep fighting people who weren't boxers. The public will catch on and won't accept it! Gib had to eat his way to fight Jake and wasn't flattened like the others, and Gib was the one who was most conditioned to fight. Woodley past it. Askren off the back of surgery and past it. Nate couldn't jab let alone fight. Those three Jake flattened. But Gib who is tiny compared to Jake was fit and wasn't flattened. My point here is if Rahman Jr can be well-conditioned at the weight they've agreed. chances are he won't be flattened either. But as we know, there's a handicap here to stop Rahman Jr from being at his best. The fact is if Jake wins this, the rehydration will be brought up and he'll be forced to fight someone who is an ACTUAL cruiserweight in these times. Someone who can comfortably make the weight fit and ready. Someone with a winning record. Someone who can bang. Jake can't bang on about all he bangs on without raising the stakes, and without taking risks. At some point, the risk will be so huge and he'll have to make a deal with a fighter that's fair. Or he'll call it quits with a selective legacy. You give someone credit for what they do but you shouldn't forget the allowances they make themselves, because that takes away from other fighters who attain winning records by taking risks.
