- I wrote this simple nocturne in B minor instead this past weekend instead of studying for the most important exam of my life! Was it worth it?
Feel free to try out the sheet music: drive.google.c...
Our ears: Blessed
Exam: Failed
Composing a nocturne so we can sleep better and be more energetic for the exam 👍🏻
The midi player doesnt do this justice
i think it sounds pretty good for midi!
It’s a good thing you didn’t study for that exam, because if you had, we wouldn’t have been able to listen to this beautiful piece.
Sounds like a mixture of all chopin nocturnes
Gotta love the chopin style opening with the single note before the melody comes in
There are two notes before the 'melody' (it is really apart of the melody). This is, in no way, unique to Chopin. It's something that dates back to Baroque dances and before. There're just pickup notes. Listen to another composer.
@@uncertainity188 It is a very Chopin-esc piece though. The romantic chords/progressions, the arpeggio bass line, the development of the theme into a more complicated version of itself, etc
@@uncertainity188Im not discrediting this composer in anyway saying they are copying Chopin I’m simply pointing out cool similarities, like at 1:29 he writes 5 notes (its just a turn but without the symbol) but thats very Chopin-like in his 9/2 or his 28/4, this reminds me of a mix of nocturnes 9/1, 72/1, and 27/2.
@@sgt_yeetI really don't see many similarities. The piece is Chopin-esque insofar as it is a romantic piece written for the piano, but beyond that, there are few similarities.
@galaxy.9162 My point still stands regardless. It's not Chopin-like because it features basic elements found in basicaly all of classical music preceding and including the romantic period. Also, this turn you are describing, similar to the pickup notes. dates back to the baroque period.
I need a live recording of this immediately
I'll try not to forget to learn this and post a video of it.
Wow this was actually really good. RUclips compositions like this are usually not great, but this one has genuine musicality and very sensitive phrasing. Good job 👍
Very nice nocturne!
To me, it feels in 4/4 with the accompaniment in triplets... it's much more common that what you wrote. Not so common to find a 12/8 with so many duplets.
yeah, i was gonna say
I take it as a decent counting exercice
this sounds like a mix of chopin's op72 in e minor, op 48 in c minor, op37 in g minor, and fantasie impromptu. nice work!
holy shit this was way better than I expected for some small channel
The beginning reminds me of Op. 72 No. 1 and Op. 28 No. 4, two of my most favorite Chopin pieces
man this is GREAT, 2 mins in and my eyes are already watery! I LOVE the chopin-esque style, you really did great, this deverves to be recorded live
That's a nice Chopin pastiche.
i think it was totally worth it. screw studying!!!!!
I would call this piece:“Oh how I hate my love for you „
An absolute and immaculate masterpiece, I‘ve never heard such a heartbreaking main melody, especially when you repeated it the third time, the high notes really hit the spot.
This is something on another level! The dynamics, intervals, and tuplets make this piece so good and special, and I really like it. You did a great job!
This seems like a great yet simple piece to study on the piano
you would have forgetten what you would have studied, but this piece is endless
0:27 a good 7(13) always make me bust
Prob my favourite chord sus13 is also beautiful
feels like what a Schubert nocturne might sound like, very interesting!
This is absolutely amazing, beautiful work
(1) ok but the title is so real (2) this is such a beautiful piece, great work ♥
the figuration of the choral at 4:22 is beautiful. also a very nice nocturne in general! I thought at some point that I feels a tiny bit long but that might be due to the lifeless digital playback (good job by the way on making it sound this good nonetheless).
and I liked the contrapuntal additions in repeats as well as your way of varying the themes a lot as well! cool parallel major ending too :)
@@naphtanaptha thanks for always being around and for the kind comments. yeah, I need to get better at piano so I can actually play this or get someone to play it on a real piano. noteperformer is a pain.
@@jonnymyong i would've tried but i only have 3 years experience. Anyone else willing to learn it?
Yes, it is far too long.
this is actually so beautiful
This is gorgeous!! Like seriously, I love this piece. If this is what happens when you don't study I recommend not studying haha. Instant sub after watching this video.
this is honestly the most beautiful piano piece i've heard
amazing , it always have a little bit dissonance and then the big resolve at the end(7:08 and 7:47) made the song richful, the feeling that the song is fully completed
Absolutely beautiful. Pure talent
This is so well made and beautiful! Good thing you didn't study I'd say
Some nice moments for sure. A theme definitely reminds me of Chopin's e minor. I feel like it could be condensed a little. I love the chord progressions you used for modulation.
Even if you composed a one movement sonatina it would've been worth it. Music over all forever and ever 100%
this is well-crafted not gonna lie
sounds like a mix of his opus 9 number 1 and chopin's nocturne in F minor i forgot the work number
I believe you stumbled upon a lost Chopin nocturne by accident! Its so sweet, yet mysterious. The use of 2:3 rhythms are just beautiful, and the way you embellish on them sounds just like something from the romantic era. Seriously, the midi player doesn't do this piece justice
We need more people like you in music. Well done and bravo 👏
This is just great 🎉😊❤ lovely nocturne
I almost never leave comments, but not this time. Beautiful, very beautiful! Go on! Texture reminds me Field a bit, not Chopin
so pretty!! i put this in my playlist
6:21 I really liked this part
Very beautiful and well thought. However i think it should be in 4/4 with the left hand jn triplets, it would make more sense.
this is incredibly beautiful
Oh por dios es buenisimo ❤👏
Very pretty nocturne. Great job!!
in my opinion that end chords can be a bit short but its ur piece its customizing by ur feels
yeah I'm still iffy on the end chords, I wanted to call back to the chorale section, but still unsure
@@jonnymyongI think they are great, but the register does not give them justice. Try giving them some more bass/ground 🙏
@@franekciuk3694 in my opinion and in my opinion it should bev less chord but if my piece in my opinion and in my opinion
bro actually did some great job.. sound beautiful to me
Why does it remind me so much of the 1st movement of Chopin's sonata in B minor?
i wish it would become more viewes! thats for real such a beautifull piece
It was.
PLEASE SOMEONE DO THIS AND RECORD IT
Classical music artists:
Screw school; I'm gonna compose this magnificent 8 minute piece instead of study for that physics exam because my passion is way more important and I am more likely to please more people by composing such a piece than acing an exam on physics.... :)
How do you propose one play bar 23 xD Great piece overall, clear inspiration from Chopin (and maybe a little brahms? Some nice polyphony in there) but not too familiar which is great! Nice work
For the right hand, if your hands aren’t big enough, just roll the first chord. The pedal should sustain it for the rest of the bar.
Was wondering if notation would be easier if you changed the time sig in the middle
Thank you! 💜
I like it. It reminds me of Chopin, or the earlier Skriabin.
Nice melody👌
such a beautiful piece
Dude this is amazing.
Amazing
Question if I may, Why is the time signature 12/8 with duplets instead of 4/4 with triplets in the base?
This is so nice!! I’m going to practice it now 😂😂
It is REALLY good ❤
Very good work 😮😮
this is really good wow
Wow beautifull! I want to learn it now
Nocturne 8 in Db major influence?
live recording rn
Is this a 4/4 hiding in triplets? hahaha
Lovely Chopin-sounding piece!
I think you love Bach the most. It's not apparent. LOOOL
Just kidding! 😁
Great joooob, but wich app do you use to record ?
This sounds pretty good
So good🎉
good job
Fucking genius
What app are you using and how is the audio so good?
wounderfull piece, congrats 👏
the part starting from 2:11 reminds me of liszt's Bénédiction de Dieu dans la Solitude
Very beautiful but don't forget to add your name to your sheets
this is amazing
Update on the exam?
it isnt a nocturne if there is no part with 1 gazillion billion notes smushed into 1 measure
beautiful! bravo! subbed!
Very much love this. Are you at all opposed to someone arranging this for another instrument?
Would do the same thing
🔥🔥🔥
what soundfont do you use?
Relatable
It's really good can I get a sheet please???
drive.google.com/drive/folders/1C1Xm1LyiDxKrb4ndcMEX2U9Ps5nmInRc?usp=sharing
what software did u use?
Wow, honestly, you're extremely talented. I'm a composer myself and I can't compose like that. That was very like a bad Chopin nocturne (Which is insanely good). Can you give me some tips?
idk if i would say of the level of the bad chopin nocturnes probably less
and really its just a mix of chopins compositions nothing really ingenious here as weve seen before in chopin so its just a mix of them which would equate to something less than chopin because well its not chopin
Derivative of Chopin.
nocturne op 72?
no his composition
to be honest, i haven't listened to that nocturne before, but the only similarity is the first three notes, which is a very simple phrase and doesn't start on the same note.
@@jonnymyong listen my boi plslis
buddy couldnt even play his own song lmao
Someone please professionally play this
Doesn't offer anything that Chopin hasn't stated in better terms. You should find your own sound.
Please make a real recording
Stick to studying instead of posting tripe like this which is taking up valuable space online.
