  • In today's episode we look at a case that would lead to capture ... described by police as a super gang led by an ex long haul lorry driver David Sell.
David Sell would be the target for polices operation Escalade to break the stranglehold of major drug and gun firms. The star witness against Sell was a lead suspect in Kevin The Gerbil Carrols murder, but an attempted assassination on the witness it would change everything. As the brothers of a notorious crime firm go on the run it would open a power vacuum, who would be the next to wear the crown and how long for?????

Drug gang sentences are usually too harsh, this is the first that doesn’t feel harsh enough. As the police even say, what they did to this poor bxstxrd was (almost certainly) not the first or likely last time this has been done. They’re also far more sinister than Town suppliers and dealers of smaller shipments, they’re clearly involved in distributing hard drugs across the country at an industrial level. I know you’re right in what you say about finances and assets being a govt fundraiser and so leadership has the police turn to a different generator, and they covered their asses with surveillance and the guilty plea. But there is a desire for justice that it’s a shame wasn’t followed up for a gang like this. The full extent of their crimes wasn’t anywhere near well delved into enough and these people are a danger soon to be freed and back to their old habits.

I thought oh another repeat but no no no this is much better than any original because it's got all the fine details. Superb stuff from a superb channel. It's just a shame they lowered their standards by brutalising Robert Allen themselves and stupidity making it easier to get caught. Every other part of their operations seemed so professional. They should have got a wee cronie to chase Allen up or just forget all about the debt and carried on. Great story though. I don't think there will ever be a more powerful and organised gang in Scotland like this again coz reading between the lines the dealers now seem to be more but just street dealers instead of professional organised gangs because there is no news on Lyons or Daniel groups at all now

I can only imagine they had top drawer legal representation and a deal was negotiated that would save the crown the cost of a lengthy and detailed trial in exchange for the lower part of the scale on the sentencing guidelines

could not be seen as soft was their excuse.

These sentences are tiny compared to what they’d have got a decade or more years ago, for that level of dealing 20 or even 25 years wouldn’t have been unusual! I know dealers who got 7 years for a second offence for just dealing tenner bags of B.🤔
