Do not be a miser. As Ramakrishna Paramahansa Deb had once said in his own rustic way of explaining simple matters, the fate of a miser is akin to a bee, which works very hard to gather nectar from flowers and store it in its beehive. Unfortunately, instead of enjoying the fruits/ honey of their hard work, humans steal them away to profit from them or eat to build their health. Unless you spend fate will not repay you back by helping you to earn more. That is why rich people spend and enjoy life to the hilt, but are wise enough to save and invest half of their earnings to secure their future and that of their families.
Agree with the financial logic you said about buying a house. I've been in rentals since last 32 years. The main issue in rentals is the nexus between owners and brokers. Nothing is regulated by the government. In practicality at least. . As a middle class, you are at their mercy. Then the arbitrary price escalation every 11 months. Cost of shifting, brokerage, interest free security deposits. Nothing favours the tenant in this country. Therein lies the dilemma!

If I invest same amount of EMI in ELSS fund it will be much valuable. I really regret for my decision to bougt it. I already have a two floors tanament.
Excellent Discussion ; 100% Aligned on your view on house. I have an ancestor house and that’s enough for me. I value hot cash (equity liquidity) and freedom above all. Based on my life experience I learned growth comes when we have ability to take risk and we can only take risk if we have freedom to do so. Why to live a life in briefcase when a whole lot out there to experience and explore ❤
Dear Sir, library me rakhne wala video banaya aapne. Very helpful. My question is that what's your 30-40 year view on India? I see lot of people moving abroad and looking to settle there and buy v expensive homes. How should someone plan a future in India.
Basant sir, I listen your all videos, all are very informative and it helps in analysis of stocks. All you videos are excellent. Rather than just providing stock tips, you are giving a thought process, an edge to analyse and pick suitable stock for an individual based on the risk compared to present situation. But this video is extraordinary, Specially on suggestions of "apne aap ko lockin karna, rather than expenditure. Thanks for such a practical thought. Yes it is always better to invest in equity, but at least 1 house is basic need. Thanks 🙏
Everyone must read his book, THE THOUGHTFUL INVESTOR, it's an eye opener, gives an amazing perspective of investment journey and rationality of equity market in present scenario. The best part of this book, it's completely written by the author, out of his own experience of his investment journey.
Sir, this thought I have tried to percolate to others since last 10 plus years or so. People seem to laugh..but then money is always made with a contrarian mindset. I have now tried to not preach this thought anymore as my value of wealth will always be relative. So let others make the mistake while some of us can make money.😊

If I invest same amount of EMI in ELSS fund it will be much valuable. I really regret for my decision to bougt it. I already have a two floors tanament.
Excellent Discussion
; 100% Aligned on your view on house.
Seen this very knowledgeable video today ,almost after 9 months ,ur knowledge n experience is very helpful.
Entire investment explained in a simple way! Grateful for these videos. I don't miss any. 🙏
Dear Sir, library me rakhne wala video banaya aapne. Very helpful. My question is that what's your 30-40 year view on India? I see lot of people moving abroad and looking to settle there and buy v expensive homes. How should someone plan a future in India.
Basant sir,
I listen your all videos, all are very informative and it helps in analysis of stocks. All you videos are excellent.
Rather than just providing stock tips, you are giving a thought process, an edge to analyse and pick suitable stock for an individual based on the risk compared to present situation.
But this video is extraordinary,
Specially on suggestions of "apne aap ko lockin karna, rather than expenditure.
Thanks for such a practical thought.
Yes it is always better to invest in equity, but at least 1 house is basic need.
Thanks 🙏
you are an enlightening soul Thats enlightening lacs of us . Hats off to your knowledge and your willingness to spread it ❤
Everyone must read his book, THE THOUGHTFUL INVESTOR, it's an eye opener, gives an amazing perspective of investment journey and rationality of equity market in present scenario.
The best part of this book, it's completely written by the author, out of his own experience of his investment journey.
Sir, aap jesa Practical Insan bahut kam hote h . Salute you sir. Aap bahut logo ka bhala kar rahe h Sir istarah ka content bana kar..❤
Sir, this thought I have tried to percolate to others since last 10 plus years or so. People seem to laugh..but then money is always made with a contrarian mindset.
I have now tried to not preach this thought anymore as my value of wealth will always be relative. So let others make the mistake while some of us can make money.😊
Whats thats thought
Sir yeh batao ki small cap mid cap stock kaose pick karen
Kis magzeen or paper ko main study karun.

Sirji aapne jo asset class wala bola hai usko maine bohot salo se wife se discuss kiya tha. Wife ko market sirf satta lagta h 3-4 saal lage usko return se yakin dilane. Ab jaake market me invest karne ke liye tayar h.
Maine meri to kamayi market me hi lagayi h but ab wife bhi slowly slowly market me invest karne lagi h.
Bohot difficult samay hota h delayed gratification family walo ko convince karana.
Basant ji , your RUclips channel ( which i would consider ours) will hardly make millions of subscribers like other youtubers because no matter how much sales ford , Suzuki, maruti, tata ,tesla make , they will never be rolls royce . You are just like Rolls Royce 💯
सही बात कही है यदि इक्विटी में निवेश लंबे समय लगा कर रह सकते है तो लक्ष्य हासिल करने में सक्षम हो सकते है। घर केवल रहने के लिए ही खरीदना चाहिए।
Thanks sir for creating financial awareness...
Sir I am 18 and you gave the best advise ever
I shared this video .. to my wife and relatives.. thank you for bringing this topic .. I totally agree with you … I have very beautiful home but still wife need one more home at different place …
Sir
Few questions
1.What is your long-term view for stock market in India min 10 years and which sector??
2.Any sunrise industry for good to invest
Jindgi badalne wala Video, No Home No EMI, Only Equity Market
Basar Sir - Thank you for your consistency. I am based in London without fail I listen to your video daily. My question is on Holding Companies good for long-term buying for 5 years with CAGR 18-20% i.e. Maharashtra Seamless, Tata Investments, Bajaj Holding, Bajaj Finserve, Sundaram Clayton, Kirloskar Industries or EID Parry - which stock is best.
I agree with you sir. Rent is best because it provides flexibility plus you are not restricted to a specific geographical location.
One should also keep in mind that they don't do futures options w/o proper understanding or in the influence of others.
Sir
Heads off to you
It is wonderful educational video to open the eyes of people of India.
Sir you are very right, Bought 2 House in Gurgaon and now watching your videos and it reminds of your words "Amar kopale dukkho lekha acche" on investment & retirement now - I am 49 now our abb khatia khadi ho Gai on retirement chinta
I am from Bangalore and I am 45, in a similar situation as you. I plan to sell my other apartment and invest in an index fund. 10-12 years is long enough to build a solid retirement portfolio.
@@sudip_curiousmind even me too...there is no point show off Apartment etc to friends etc than to focus on retirement. next 10 12 years I will invest selling one property
@@rajnath4997 all the very best to you!
@@sudip_curiousmindwhat about rented income from apartment/flats?
Is it not a good investment?
What's your thoughts?
@@btxhdmovies4k910 it depends on so many factors including luck. I can only share my personal experience, I have a rental property in Bangalore in a decent apartment complex, I get a rent of 20k on a property whose estimated market value is 50-60 lakh ie a yield of 4% ..its not great but not too bad either. One needs to take one's own priorities into account before determining if this is a good investment.
Dear Sir, Excellent topic. Transaction in property is tedious, purchase/Sale is not so easy whereas in equity transaction is so simple. Moreover money credited in bank account in 2-3 days.
Sir i 100%, agree with you.. I am putting each and every savings of my life in equity as I hv a bit of good knowledge of equity, and investing my money for next 10-20 years Or lifetime or emergency ..
I had to face tough challenge from my family and friends to prove that this investment is the best and it's not gambling.. My friends make fun of me when I don't cash short term returns.. They laugh at me.. But this gives me more motivation and courage to be on my path to achieve my long term ultimate goals..
I am doing uphill task to educate and show them the right equity path..
Let's God give them more patience as they are not looking the long way, but needing handsome returns in short term only..
Awesome video.. My one of the best video I watched ever to educate Indians in equity
Sirji jab bhi decision late hai vo right hi lagti hai but jab result aata hai to pata chalata hai ki right hai ya wrong....100% destiny hi Kam karta hai....hard work 90% aur 10% destiny.but ye 10% hamesha 90% se jyada Bhari hota hai...
Your videos are brilliant, Thanks a lot for sharing your experiences. Your sense of humour is also very classy!
Kindly let us know about your journey of taking leverage. You always mention that you took leverage. Kindly share what exactly did you do. Please mention the leverage amount in terms of your income that time (not actual amount of course). This will make picture clear. Thanks once again.
Withdrawal of PF amount in 12 years n continued service, should I invest the same in nifty50 index funds?
Beyond believe that i found this treasure of knowledge on RUclips. Thank you sir🙏
Aisa vedio aaj tak kisi ne nhi banaya...Salute 🙏
Hello sir
Equity ka return achha hi hai.but future kisiko nahi pata..ahmedabad ke west side mein south bopal, shela, shilaj jaise area mein naya development bahut fast ho raha hai..4000 rs per sqft ka rate hai aur pura area naye se develop ho raha hai..yaha par sale bhi achhi ho rahi hai..real estate mein locational factor bhi bahut important hote hai
You have done quiet in depth research and analysis. Thanks! I own one house and your reasoning for a middle class person for not owning second home/office is very good. If i want to be rich then it's only equity equity and equity...
