I love how this guy manages to sound both knowledgeable and surprised at the same time going through his own toolbox😅
He talks about swapping a diagonal cutter with a tight hinge. Rather than just knocking it on apiece of wood sideways until it loosens a bit. And lubing it.
I'm 30 seconds in
What forklifts do you work on?
mostly Crown
Bro this packout setup is honestly the most practical and has the best space utilization I’ve seen yet! Thanks for sharing!
Wrenches organized well and flat with foam = all accounted for! Thanks for sharing, gave me some really good pointers.
Nice set up, always enjoy these toolbox tours more than the massive $20k toolboxes in the auto trade type.
Exactly what I was looking for! Fixing to load-out the cart I just put together.
I'm doing something similar, different use case, wanted a rolling service cart to work on my truck and my car in the garage or driveway and want to have a flat work surface right beside me while I'm working - needed to see how someone that uses theirs on a daily basis has loaded theirs out for actual WORK.
Got two of the Pack-out 2/3 drawer boxes I bought a year or so ago when they were on sale because I knew I would use them eventually for something!
Made my own 4-wheel Dolley with a Base Plate (on sale for $30) and some 2x4's with some larger casters I had from an old Toolbox to make it easier to get over cracks and gravel.
Sanded and painted it with 'toolbox red' spray paint and it matches damn-near perfect.
For the top I got a set of the "ABN Flexible Tool Tray" silicone tool organizers from Amazon and the 3-piece set fits on top perfectly...and is even RED. 😎
Nice setup! Like the way you stack the wrenches in the foam to maximize space.
That is an interesting setup. Having several tools in one foam pocket, keeps tools organized with a smaller tool box.
Had to find a way to have as many tools as possible in a smaller storage space. looked around on RUclips for solutions but could never find anything I liked, figured I’d solve the problem myself and share what worked for me.
@@HASHTAG_SEDORY appreciate ya
Very cool! I added two 1/8" aluminum dividers to each of the top 2 drawers in my 3 drawer. Big stuff in the bottom. I like your upright storage socket top box! Haven't seen that one before, very cool. I paid up and got the Milwaukee one and like it but it's a fairly rigid setup as far as customization. I keep my allen/torx sockets and some other extensions and ratchets in the 3 drawer.
Great collection and an interesting way to store all this stuff. Well done.
Clever use of space! Thanks for the video
Impressive, well put together set.
Killer setup! I do more electrical diagnostic and repair, so one of my deep drawers may look different, but I'm for sure using this as a cheat sheet for my stack. Cheers!
mannn, i just got started as a road technician and was wondering the best way to organize myself, as i hate constantly climbing into my van and into my tool box for everything. This is a perfect set up, literally everything i have just organized almost perfectly. Definitely copying your set up! good stuff man!
Yeah me too. Been waiting for this video
You’re welcome, glad I could show some ideas to those in the same working work as I am.
His packout setup is more organized than mine and I do mobile mechanic work… gave me a few ideas
Nice setup. I keep my wrenches in a wrench roll, but ur setup looks more convenient. All my basic hand tools are in the packout backpack. Thanks for the video.
I’m just starting out as an FST myself … coming for 20 years in automotive. I hadn’t considered this 4 wheel option as I’d been leaning toward the dolly…. Good info
Dude I’ve been looking for this kind of setup overview. THANK YOU!
You’re welcome, I hadn’t seen anything like it on RUclips so I built it myself and I figured others would want to see it as well.
Great set up I have a similar setup but I use my top box as a open desk while working and if I am too tired to organize when done I can leave them there till later.
Excellent video! Thank you.
You did a great job setting it up ‼️
Grad video and great ideas for my set up, thank you for sharing
Definitely like this set up. Definitely like the top box for sockets
Really cool setup man
And...... subscribed! Thx. Watching from Ontario Canada 🎉
I love the socket box. I need one more drawer freed up. My socket currently take one and a half of them. This would free up what I need.
Super nice and interesting ! Thanks
Excellent review, i was torn on what to buy for work and this sold me
Glad this video helped you out. I was always frustrated for so long just wheeling around a little hand box being a mobile tech but when this came along I decided to test it out and couldn’t be more satisfied myself. I’m just hoping it lasts me awhile and holds up well, only time will tell.
Starting a job as a mobile forklift tech soon. Thanks for the video
The snap on snap ring pliers are a must on forklifts. Using the cheap brand and next thing you know the ring shoots off inside a warehouse never to be found lol. This pack out setup is awesome, it makes me want to get one.
Yes! Even with the snap on snap ring pliers you still need to be careful. Get the Milwaukee set up, you won’t be disappointed.
nice setup. I haven't yet foam my tools they just pile in there getting knocked around for the past 10 years but one of these days I will or my daughter will make it look pretty and organized.
Great video, very well spoken and i appreciate that. Nice set up as well. And i can attest to the quality of the older satin nickel USA made craftsman adjustable wrenches. They are the only tool i use with my Brass air Gas fittings. They get snug and wont back off, while everything else will slip. And i mean everything! Also Snap on has the best snap ring pliers I've found.
Good choices in the back with the IS and civic
I've been a road tech for a few months, I tried out 2 different tool boxes. After the 2nd box broke I happen to see this video, I just bought the craftsman tradestack. We work on aerial equipment, scissors, and forklifts.
That’s is smart to set it up nice job brother
Wow man I’m impressed
Cool setup
Nice setup
Nice setup. I’m a forklift tech ,but in-house. I have many advantages that road techs don’t . Props to you guys. Some of the work you do is tough with out lifts. Also but having a very organizer tool set helps alot
Gotta do what I can to make it easier for myself. I appreciate the props. I get a little jealous when I see the in house techs using those nice forklift hoists.
Genuinely one of the best setups I have seen. Everything in it's place and able to carry most of what you need. Two comments to add. When you go to replace the waterpump pliers, look at Knipex Cobra. Coworker turned me on to them. Don't want to be without. Other thing, I think the original ViseGrips were made by DeWitt. Got most every model and wouldn't trade them.
Yes, I believe you are correct on the visegrips being originally from DeWitt, and I’ve heard good things about the knipex.
Look up a caging bolt socket for lift chains. About 8 inches long. Absolutely loved it
Thanks for posting
i appreciate your caution with the power tools and keeping them safe but ive seen people run over milwaukees and theyre good to go right after for the next job lol
Very nice😁👍🏿best greetings fromm Austria
Check out the LN47ACF talon grip piers, they are incredibly useful! Nice set up ! Regarding tight pliers, as an electrician I have a lot of Klein and they come tight like that Icon, believe it or not the best trick I learned was to stick them in oil soaked sand and work them a few times and it loosens them right up. We usually had a sand box under our pipe threaders so finding oil soaked sad usually wasn’t an issue. Lol
Great set up imma copy paste heheh 🎉
I like it! Any issues with the rolling base on different types of concrete (parking lots, old cracked...)
Fun fact.... the tekton 3/8 drive sae and metric sockets sets on their plastic rails setup fit in that top box like they were made for it. Found this out while packing up my toolbox to move to new job a couple days ago.
The roller base has been pretty good so far. I need to be careful pushing it over larger expansion joints over concrete because the wheels are smaller but other than that it still runs fairly smooth.
Awesome setup! Where did you get the foam?
Love your setup, I just ordered the 3 drawer pack out so I'm super stoked about that. Also, I was wondering if you have any advice for someone who is about to start working as a forklift technician. Sounded like what I'm going into is similar to what you are doing. I'll be given my own van to take with tools on board, along with paid training but like I said, for someone who is just about to dip his feet into the trades for the first time, any advice?
Never be afraid to ask questions, it’s one of the many ways you learn and on the other side of the same coin, don’t ever act like you know so much, because you’ll learn rather quickly you don’t. Be willing to be the guy who will do the job some other guy won’t, that’ll grow you in your craft. On the tool side of things, save your money, and do your best to pay cash for tools, they’re expensive enough, you don’t need to pay interest on top of them. I hope that helps!
Nice, Hello from Russia 👍
Did you screw the socket trays in?
Is this a huge pain for dragging up and down stairs? Was thinking about doing this setup but maybe with a larger caster to traverse stairs
Got just about the same setup for my van
Awesome packout setup. Can I recommend that you clean up those brass punches before you get shot with come chunks flying off. I'm a blacksmith and I have seen that happen too many times; it will eventually get you.
Anyway, cool setup. Thanks for showing us. I have a packout setup for my ATV mechanic gig. It works perfect for me, but I can see some room for improvement on mine now that I see how yours is set up.
Brass punches have been cleaned and de-burred.
@@HASHTAG_SEDORY forehead wiped, lol.
where do you buy foam like that?
Great vid. Thx for sharing. Only thing I would do different is swap the three drawer and the two drawer. Personal preference. Aren’t you grabbing the hand tools more frequently in and out than the cordless stuff? Just discovered you. Going to look for more vids. Not sure what you have. Thx again. Watching from Ontario Canada 🎉. Btw, you have a good narrator voice. Lol
I have the three drawers on the bottom for balance purposes, they are the heaviest out of my packout items, makes it less likely to tip over.
What kind of foam system is this?
HD/Lowes are good places to pick up single sockets.
Soak that tight pivot hinge overnight in some sort of lightweight penetrating oil to loosen it up.
Only thing I see that could be better is the addition of Knipex Cobras and Knipex Pliers Wrenches
Is that a 1/4 impact wrench that you use 50% of your jobs daily? Would you please talk about what kinds of jobs require it the most?
This is great, which packout model is the top box where you keep sockets and ratchets? Seems to be the perfect size
It is model# 48-22-8424. Bought at it at Home Depot, currently shows it sells for $79.97 on their app.
Hey brother, set up is very nice. I'm a mobile air compressor tech and going to so the same set up (kindof)
Did you buy the foam inserts?
If so how many? really liked the whole set up. Being a mobil tech we are real limited on tool space. Thanks for posting. Be safe out there
The foam inserts I purchased separately through Home Depot, they are sold by Milwaukee. Both the box and drawer foam inserts come in a pack of 2, so I mistakenly ordered to much so returned what I didn’t need.
Nice setup man were did you get your foam from? Im thinking of foaming out my tool box in my van. In the material handling business too
The foam is from Milwaukee made for the Packout system, bought it through Home Depot. They have different ones made for the drawers and tool boxes.
@@HASHTAG_SEDORYhow many did you buy do they come in sets or is it just one and I gotta order as many for my drawers ?
Sweet set up man! My question is do you find it difficult to load and unload that from a van?
Sometimes, but it’s worth having everything I need to be more mobile.
What is the total weight? I am a road tech myself looking for new ideas
The new Milwaukee ratchet is the boss, try the new one!
I'm curious, why use the 4 wheel dolly instead of the 2 wheel utility cart?
2 wheels would make it heavier to move around. Also, the wheels on the cart are inboard making it less stable and I read some poor reviews on it as well.
how do you keep your socket trays to stay put? Do you just sandwich it in between the foam? Thanks
I cut out a top layer of the foam for the trays to fit in, they nestle between the foam and the inside wall of the box.
You should do a service van tour if you have a van
I’ve thought about it, not sure if my company would be ok with it though.
Did you buy the foam like that or customize it yourself?
Bought the foam through Home Depot, did all the tool shape cutting myself. The foam is Milwaukee branded and is pre-shaped to fit in the box and drawers.
Forklift operator here. Bored out of my mind. I've always watched the forklift techs doing their job curious of the gig. Would you recommend it?
Been doing it for about 12&1/2 years. Just like any job it has its downsides, but I believe I get paid well and it’s a good steady career to be in. There’s always work and you’re semi-independent being out in the field working out of your own van, which I take home every day. If you’re mechanically inclined, I’d get some experience or some affordable training then get into the job.
PE4500 shaft for the springs?
10-4, I use it for installing new ones
Great set up. Would you feel comfortable flying with that?
No, too risky stuff getting stolen or “lost” by an airline. Also luggage cost would be crazy because of weight. Maybe would be ok on a small municipal plane flying private but that’s also a question of the weight as well.
Where did you get those trays for the wrenches in the top box? 1:18
Harbor Freight
@@HASHTAG_SEDORYwhat brand are you socket holders
Do you ever fly that kit?
No I do not
While I found your setup very impressive, I'm more interested in your video setup, such as what camera, mic, software, etc that you used. I did a drawer mod video with stationary webcams, but would really like to do some POV videos like you did such a good job with.
I filmed with my iPhone 12, no external mic righter.
@@HASHTAG_SEDORY That's too bad. I've vowed to never own an Apple product. I'll work something out myself. Thanks.
What franchise do you work for ?
ruclips.net/video/KF96D2GNCeo/видео.html
You don’t happen to have a tool list?
no I do not
Gotta get ya some knipex in there
That’s what people keep telling me…
@@HASHTAG_SEDORY game changer
Do you work for crown
Yes I do
Great ideas and set up. Your wrench drawer is like a box of chocolates 😅. JK
Yep, you’ll never know what you’re to get! 😂
I know there are no shortage of work lights in all different brands, shapes and sizes but since you do work on forklifts, one or both of these work lights I linked here may provide illumination for seeing tight spots on the forklift that no other light can provide because of this design which mimics another person holding a light for you. I use these in my mobile mechanic business every day.
ruclips.net/video/SnhmlSc_6a0/видео.html and also ruclips.net/video/VnoyyEhJZxY/видео.html
nothing like carrying a heavy tool bag across a warehouse.
1:52 hahaha
no stickers on the packout, i rate your setup 1/10
Where is your jack ?
Charge that battery! Don’t run them that low.
talks about space being essential yet packs his shit with foam
I found it to be the best way for me to organize my tools. Using the lack of space I have not being able to house a giant roll chest in my van, to the best of my ability.
Foam and kit are too clean to be a forklift tech.
I haven’t had it very long, the dirt and grime will catch up to it.
@@HASHTAG_SEDORY some mechanics and technicians know how to stay clean. Some have it some don't.
I stayed clean, tools cleaned before going back into van.
10-15 years vice grip hasn’t done a day of work 😂
lol. Only a crown tech would over engineer this tool set up.
NOT TRUE!!! OK, maybe a little… but at least a Crown lift has a lot more metal covers on it than say a Raymond. If an operator manages to bonk a Ray Cherry picker hard enough in the front through the plastic cover, well there goes the drive and steer motors…
How is this setup for lifting in and out of a van and up and down stairs?
In and out of the van isn’t too bad if you don’t have to take it out of the van every day but it’s not difficult, it’s just the weight that gets tiring. I don’t run into too many stairs, but if I do I just un stack everything and take it up and down.
I would think you start taking out some of the sockets that never get used. I work on a lot of Crowns. Unfortunately, I don't get paid to be efficient, so don't have near as many tools and definately not a lot of Sanp-on stuff. @@HASHTAG_SEDORY
I have all these tools so I make the job easier for myself and in case I run into non-crown equipment, if a customer wants a different brand lift serviced, I work on it.
