Realms in Exile is a submod of Age of the Ring and it is really good too, you can play Arnor, Angmar, Mordor during the Second Age (War of the Last Alliance) Lindon (Gil-Galad faction during the Second Age) or Imladris (Rivendell)....
I loved BFME1's plot building system, but BFME2 was such a G with even Create-A-Hero functionality, oh how I wish they'd expanded that system just a bit wider

Great video! Something that should also be said is that the better you get at the game, the more fun and crazy and loud it actually gets. Imagine you’re in a 2v2 about to completely destroy someone’s base and suddenly your ally mordor teammate thinks it’s funny and decides to use his spell book power to destroy all of your troops for fun. Sometimes there’s so much going on at once that it’s always keeping you busy. Each faction is so unique that if you wanna learn how to fight against a certain faction, you need to learn how to play and think like them.
Heya! I saw your post in the AotR discord. I enjoyed your video. Though I’ve followed and played this game/mod for a long time, I’d still like to see more AotR because I like your style. Maybe an evil faction showcase with some gameplay. Possibly more in depth with looking through some more heroes abilities or unit models (if you’re into that). Also trying to do a cast of one or more tourney games could be interesting. While you obviously have some experience and know a good bit you don’t know everything in detail which would make watching some casts fun as you’d learn more about the meta and strategies through the replays.
There is a huge community playing pvp via game ranger, for every fun of AOTR i suggest trying multiplayer, i bet you will find some newer players that are learning the game too or you can ask someone more experienced to help you understand how to play against another human
Yeah, the AI can be pretty brutal, especially if you're not used to their rushing tactics. I suggest building towers at choke points and around buildings, and make sure your third building is a barracks so you can get military out asap. Keep producing units, because they will.
@@9pmInTokyogive ai handicap, i remember a dev suggested to me. I prefer like that as casual player and i like to play slow and look/study more at the troops

BFME1's build plot system is definitely unique. It actually does make a comeback in a few of Age of the Ring's special maps. I think I like the BFME2 system more, but I respect the view!

Clicking those changes the angle at which the camera looks at the map. They're cool for screen captures, but I think the default view is the best way to watch the game.
This mod is dead, and the devs belittle and ridicule anyone who asks for support or help in their discord. Try Edain mod instead; the community is larger and much friendlier, and tbh the mod is superior to AOTR.
Is this a serious comment? I don't know how the devs act to other people, so i can't argue with that. But the mod is far from dead. they did a huge update on march 21 this year, reworking a lot of the existing features, they did new art, new building models and even new very professional voices for added units and such. An entire new faction (Harad) was added and it looks and feels like its part of the base game. It is an amazing mod with huge quality standards.

Try the Edain mod, it's superior to this one anyways and retains the BFME1 plot building system.

AotR AI is waaaay harder than vanilla so it's defo not your memory playing tricks about the difficulty of the original.

I'm... not really sure. There have been a lot of community updates. You can hop into the AotR discord and ask, I'm sure.

Clicking those changes the angle at which the camera looks at the map. They're cool for screen captures, but I think the default view is the best way to watch the game.

That's never been my experience, but I do agree that the Edain mod is also pretty great! I wish it ran on the same version of BFME2 as AotR does.
