Scammed In China: How Trojan Horses Launch Malware Attacks On Our Devices | Cyber Scammed - Part 1/3

- In China, cyber attackers are taking advantage of the ubiquity of instant messaging platforms such as WeChat to launch trojan horses. The baits are disguised as all sorts of innocuous documents and links, such as free software, free games, or even celebrity gossip. Once the user clicks on the bait and the malware has been installed, the hacker can gain control of the device remotely. From there, they are free to perform a host of unauthorised actions - from observing one’s social interactions on various platforms for social engineering, to impersonating the victim or their bosses for monetary gain.
We speak to victims whose WeChat accounts have been hacked, and attacks launched on a personal and corporate level. We also speak with experts who tell us about Silver Fox trojan, a particularly insidious type of trojan horse impacting large swathes of industries in China.

Till today i never let my 80 year old parents have a smart phone, they will be scammed so often.. they just use a regular 3G phone.
They could get scammed even on a 3G phone. All these scams are based on smart phones, at least give them flip phone with no smart features so it can't be exploited. That lady in the begging of the video "I was watching my mouse pointer moving and adding WeChat contacts". I would have shut the computer or WiFi off immediately, why watch them adding stuff?! lol smh
Truth be told, if you are using Malaysia Government website, you need to be careful too. Most Malaysia Government website have very low cyber security, and you ended up leaking your personal information to the hackers too.
There are already loophole in wechat before it is being deployed to the app market.
I nearly got tricked on wechat too..wechat need to be re engineered n redeveloped..to close that many loopholes..definately.
wechat/Douyin and others are China’s Most Beloved Surveillance Tools , those loopholes are build in for tracing and tracking , there is no insentive to patch /remove those !, it would only make acces to a users hardware/information more difficult for the ccp,
and from the information i cant gather over the past years THEY DONT care (even if they say they do)that people are getting scammed as long as they them dont become a target of one of those scams and can keep using the same exploits for inteligence gathering they are fine with it !
from the first half of video (too long to finish): the root cause is windows security problem, not wechat.
No OS is fool proof, a lot of scams are based on tricking users do things or not doing the right things to begin with.
Whatever the words written on hyperlink(underlined blue) it doesn't represent the real url.
Impressed with the Chinese Gov's efforts in countering fraud. For s country to embrace tech so widely and deeply, this is a step that has to be started very early in the game.
Governments from all around the world should work together in this field.
Agreed... Should be a un Interpol base
Too much tech ain't good either. Before everything being online, there were a lot less scams. I still don't get why people answer calls and follow instructions. I don't answer any calls from unknown numbers, and if I do and hear anything to press this or that just hang up.
I wonder the fate of older people, who will protect them from this kind hacker.....
Don’t mind . Old generation like me , only use Personal computer to transfer money.
who cares about Older people.... If the stock market cared, we wouldn't have a business..... Balance of the free economy
the root problem is the windows, as long as they don't use windows, they are safe from everything shown in this video.
@@YSKWatchyou’re wrong. It’s the fault of syncing function. I NEVER use this function, and I will avoid this function as much as possible
@@maggiechang9956 the security breached after the user run exe file without knowing it, then the hacker remotely control the windows and everything in it. the chat app is the secondary attack. you can rewatch the video if you have to.
Ive seen it too
Users need to be more aware of what to take note of on the web.. with AI, they can fake voices and even videos
That its a RAT
They forgot to blur his login WeChat QR code 🤦🏻♀🤦🏻♀
Most likely that has been changed by now or before the video was shot.
Government hacker vs scammer hacker
How china sure superapp is secure
no subtitle
Lol
oh boy the shias and the sunnis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BS, why put in a big title in English than have me hear those aliens.. Deceiving the least I can say.
You have no idea what subtitles are for?
why not simply translate to english. you expect a user to read subtitles for 1 hour?
Than don't watch it
@@richeeyou6557isn't CNA an English based video channel from Singapore ? And the purpose of such video is to educate as many people as possible not to be a victim of scammers ? And to reach out to as many people as possible ?
Don't be a turd and a smart ass with your rude, condescending and dismissive attitude by asking people don't watch the video ?
@@richeeyou6557 lol. You trying to be savage but turn on being stupid
Lil bro can't read for an hour
Why not simply learn Chinese? Do you expect everything to be translated into English?
