Elijah is biologically older than Klaus but since they were turned at the same time, they are the same strength, except Klaus is a Hybrid. Klaus is stronger because of the Hybrid factor but Elijah is a better fighter.

I feel like Rebekah grew as a person between TVD and the originals. I watched the originals first and I thought Rebekah was older than Klaus. She seemed more mature and responsible. Then I saw TVD and I saw huge difference in her personality. She seemed like the scary-insecure-narcissistic-popular-cheerleader type. In the originals though she had similar qualities, but in a more mature way. She didn’t seem like a teenager anymore, but as a young adult. Her style became more adult and personality was more sophisticated. Maybe the tone of the show or her summer with Matt changed her.
