It's 07:30AM and I had a rough day with my 8 year old daughter yesterday, she lives with her mother elsewhere and due to the lock down iv'e not seen much of her, she now has anxiety issues when she comes to stay with me and can't stay overnight anymore due to this problem. My little girl won't have my lullabies anymore. Thanks Kate and Damien. Personal circumstances aside this was actually a tonic, there's always joy to be found in melancholy. x
I hope you guys are doing well by now. I have to deal with anxiety issues, and there are a few things that I am not able to do anymore, even after a few years of treatment. I felt your pain in these words, and I truly hope you and her are better now. Sometimes, for some of us, melancholy is the way out. Keep strong you two.

I heard this on the credits whilst watching 'After Life' and it immediately caught my attention. Such a beautiful yet haunting song, especially when you realise the sentiments behind the lyrics and why it was penned. Many years ago (some time in the 90's) I saw the Battlefield Band in Bielefeld, Germany. They were on one of the many band stands at the Cities yearly festival. They sang 'How will I ever be simple again' and I decided to buy their CD, still play it all these years later. Liked and subbed :)
