Thanks so much for watching! I hope you found this video on what is a book imprint helpful. If you’re planning to write a children’s book, let me know! I can’t wait to cheer you on!
Is the imprint more of your personal logo?
@@pammoody6520 I'd say so, Pam. It's a way to further brand yourself and your books, besides your author name.
Even though I'm in Canada, this explanation really helped. Coming up with a name was so hard, but I created one from my love of dogs.....Wagging Tales Publishing.
I'm so happy this helped, Cheryl! And it's so wonderful that your Imprint name has a special meaning as well!
wow this just saved me a lot of trouble :) Thank you very much
You are more than welcome!! Thanks so much for taking the time to leave your kind comments!
This video has inspired me to get an imprint. Thank you for this fabulous video
That's so wonderful to hear, Mandy!
Thank you for providing such concise, useful information!
You're so, so welcome! Thanks for watching!
Thank you Eevie! I'm just about to publish my first book. Will add an imprint before I do so now! :)
That's so wonderful to hear, Tasneem! And CONGRATULATIONS on your upcoming children's book!
@@EeviJones I'm going with Chubby Cheeks Press lol!
@@tasneemdairywala972 I love it!
Hi Eevi! As always, thank you so much for the informative video. I purchased a set of 10 ISBN #'s years ago and assigned an organization name (I'm guessing this would be the imprint)? Although I feel it's no longer fitting so I changed it last night - and it allowed me to do so. First, is the organization name, the same as an imprint? Just wanted to get your thoughts before I publish my book in the next week or so. Thanks so much!
Hi Kiki! You're absolutely correct - whatever name you used during the purchase of your ISBNs would be the imprint/ publisher you would want to list over on KDP. And if you go directly to Bowker (where we purchase our official ISBNs) and request to add or change that name, they will be able to change that for you, which (it sounds like) you already did. I so hope this helps, Kiki! I wish you such a wonderful launch!
Thank you for this awesome video Eevi. I am thinking that I might put it in as a contest too. What resolution size should I stipulate for the illustrator to use? Also what price bracket should I expect to pay? Thanks for your time Eevi 😊
Hi Lauren! I'm so happy to hear you found this video helpful. You will want to have a resolution of 300 DPI. As to your pricing question, please be sure to watch my video on working illustrators.
@@EeviJones Thanks very much for your reply Eevi 😊
Great information! I made something similar. A logo picture. Does it have to be black & white?
I'm so happy to hear you've found this helpful! And our logos don't have to be black and white!
Hi Eevi! Thank you for all of your helpful videos! Can we just choose "Independently Published" and come up with an imprint later? This is my first time publishing a book.
Hi MK! You're so welcome. Unfortunately anything that will be tied to our ISBN can't be changed later. And since we have to provide an imprint name at the time of ISBN purchase, it's best to have that in place beforehand. I so hope this helps.
Can I use ISBNs from my Bowker account on different KDP accounts?
I have an Etsy shop named With Art & Word. Would it be appropriate to use that as an imprint? With Art & Word Books, or With Art & Word Press? Thanks for all of your great videos!
You're so welcome, Deborah! Just make sure that whatever name you decide to go with hasn't been used for these types of things before and is still available.
Thank you Eevi. The thing I am still confused about is if you put the full name of your imprint in the book or the logo (or do you perhaps include both). In your case, does the logo stand on its own, or do you actually write LHC publishing on the back of your books. Is the full unabreviated name (Loewenherz . . .) ever visible to the reader. Thanks again.
You're so very welcome! You could simply use both. That's what we often see with big publishers as well. Penguin Young Readers Group (an imprint of Penguin Random House, for example) often simply has their logo on the cover, and then also its name (and logo) on the copyright page). I so hope this helps!
The playlist “Frequently asked questions” has a video that doesn’t belong there. (You can tell which one because it isn’t by you and has a markedly different thumbnail) I sometimes make the same mistake with playlists.
Thanks so much for letting me know, Andrew! I so appreciate it!
@@EeviJones You're welcome.
Evi ,what is the best way to contact you in regards to my children's book.

Can’t I just create my own imprint and add it to my cover? And create a copyright page…and then just use KDP ISBN…I listened to so many videos and I laid down and looked at the sky and realized…I can just put my own publishing imprint…what other reason makes paying for my own ISBN worthwhile?
