I was always moving my blade away from the spine from both side even with correct angle ... It wasn't getting very sharp or Taking much time but doing your method it works better on my wet stone and 6 inch custom combat knife
I think dragging the blade towards the cutting edge first knocks off all of the imperfections, and once it has a pretty good shape, dragging it away kinda straightens everything out and kills the burrs. Thanks for watching and commenting!
