- 10,000 Islands Florida. Sounds nice right? Well it is. And it's an amazing place to go beachcombing to look for sea shells. I've visited the 10,000 islands quite a few times and this day did not disappoint. Come to think of it, the first time I visited I went to the south end of the island and it was rather meh. This time I once again visited the north end of the island and it was awesome!
The 10,000 islands in Florida are known for the abundant sea shells that can be found there. You'll have to kayak there or hire a ride, but it's so worth it!

Hands up all who worship at the SWF alter who think we should get together and go to live on Kice Island, need the heat turning down a bit though!! Funny how the murex and banded tulip kind of got together….very awesome day, I am positively emerald with envy!! Stay safe x
Here, here! ✋👏👍👍👍
I second that! Could you imagine walking out your door to such treasures! It was such an awesome day - thank you for letting me share it with you!
What an incredible shelling day!! Loved all of it!!
Yes it was! Thanks for coming along!
Wow! Look at all the gaudies! Awesome to see that many shells and such great specimens! Unbelievable!! That orange scallop looked rough maybe? The lace murexes we're also unbelievable!!! Congrats, Sharmon! So the beach Was better than the water this time! xxoo
I forgot my snorkel mask, but it worked out okay after all. There were so many good shells but I still missed a whole bunch. I certainly won't complain though. It was a fantastic day of shelling. Can't wait to go back!
@@SWFBeachLife I bet! The price was really good too compared to some others. How many were on your boat?
@@gingermackeen5741 I think there were on only 5-6 guests total that day and only 2 of us wen to Kice!
Congratulations on reaching 15K subscribers ! It seems like it was just a few weeks ago when you hit 10K.
Your channel is really growing and thank you for filming for us. It's so relaxing for me being all the way up in Ohio on a gloomy day to see the Florida beaches and the sunshine.
You are so very welcome! It wasn't that long ago I was in NJ so I am appreciating all the awesomeness that is Florida. Thank you for allowing me to share my beach adventures with you!
I 100% AGREE. Cloudy day in Ohio means its time for shelling with SWF in my most favorite place to shell. ( We ONLY go to Marco Island to stay) I did spy a King Crown at the top of the page at 18:10. It's so fun to freeze the page and hunt for shells, when it's in focus. I know you can't find them all. Just want to be down there with you so bad!
@@smilineyes815 I missed shells all over the place, but I did manage to find a few good ones so I won't complain ☺
Hi, Darling Sharmon! I'm rewatching all of your shelling videos (I pray the clean up work at your home is rapidly progressing!). Many, many prayers to all the residents in FL. I've learned so much from you about shelling and Identification of shells; I didn't want to forget anything. Plus, we all miss you; however, you do what you need to do and we all will be thrilled when you return. 😊 Much Love to you and Family from Sacramento, CA ❤️
❤️❤️❤️
What an outstanding shell haul! My word!! Love you Shell Sister. Loved it! Love Terri Simmers.
Thank you so much 🤗 It was crazy fun and another example of picking the right place at the right time. I wonder how long my luck will hold up!
When i thought last week's video was the topper, lol, this one is right up there! I would be freaking out if i found that many lace murex's! Every Sunday my cat and i watch the beachy goodness and he even knows it's shelling time when he hears the opening music! Thanks for this week's beach adventure and we can't wait for next Sunday's conclusion of Kice Island!
I'm getting pretty spoiled with all the amazing beach visits! It was SO fun and the amount of those lace, gaudy's and tulips was insane! And since I don't always find those, I pretty much took anything that was more on the rare side. It was so fun - can't wait to finish the walk next week. Hope you have a great week and see you next Sunday! PS - I love that your cat watches too! 😅
@@SWFBeachLife he loves it lol
Congratulations on continuing to grow your channel! You do have the best shelling content, lol. I loved this virtual visit to Kice Island with you, I would have been in heaven with all those gorgeous shells! The lace murex, tulips and those fabulous pear whelks are all so beautiful, to say nothing about all the other goodies you found. Thanks, as always, for sharing your beach walks with us.
Thank you so much! I am so excited to be brining more beachy goodness to others. And one day, SWF Beach Life will be my full-time gig so I can dedicate myself to bringing even better content to the channel. One day! 🤞🏻
Wow!!!! Amazing finds! Last time I went to Kice Island the shells were all bleached out. I usually identify true tulips by the ridges they have unlike the banded tulip. Three weeks and I’ll be at Fort Myers Beach!!! Thank you for the beach walk!!
You're right the true tulips have some texture to them too. I should have mentioned that. I hope you have fun packing and preparing for your trip! And then once you get here - I hope you find lots of treasures! 🐚
Unbelieveable shelling!! What a fantastic day. All those FFConchs were crazy.... I admire your will power to not pick up every one you see. I love lace murex, especially ones with the little pink top. Can't wait until next week to finish the walk!
I picked up so many FFCs when I went to Tigertail I knew if I was going to collect any, I should wait until the end of the walk. Those baby's are heavy! Plus there were just so many other goodies to admire and keep. It was such a fun day. Thank you so much for coming along with me!
Looking at everything and watching you picking up shells, this is a dream trip for me. I probably would have picked up a lot more shells because I couldn’t believe how many shells there were. I love your video❤️ Thank you for taking me with you. See you at the next beach.🥰
Welcome back! It was a crazy amazing day out there - I wish it could always be like that!
Holy Moly!!! Yet another great shelling adventure! Love your videos. Thanks for taking us along with you!
Thank you so much for coming along with me!
After watching some other shelling videos I realized your photography far exceeds others. Aside from that eagle eye of yours, you have a steady hand and skill to film as if I'm looking for shells right beside you! Love your beach walks!
Well thank you so much for saying so! I am a little picky, and I try to improve everything as I go, the video, the audio, the editing. I'm learning so much and hope to keep getting better and better! Thanks for coming along for the ride!
What an episode wow! One of your best shelling videos/days. There was still some variety though yes it was Tulip, Murex and Nautica heaven. :D So happy for you.
I don't think I'm going to ever experience a day like this, but I sure hope so. It was spectacular to find all those fabulous shells. Thank you so much for coming along with me!
WOW! That was a great shell day. I am glad you were able to get my emails. I will be sending you another one. I really look forward to your videos on Sunday. Thank you so much for taking us all along. I could not believe you found so many tulips and murex. Really great shelling day. Have a Blessed day.
I can't believe how many tulips and murex were there in one spot. It was incredible! Thanks so much for watching and I look forward to hearing from you via email ☺️
Awww I am so happy to go on another sea shell hunting adventure! You have taught me so so much sweet friend about shells. Oh I so want so many of the shells you have found. I hope to get some shells from you soon. 🧜🏼♀️🐚
I am learning so much about shells from you! I am in Rhode Island so our shells are very different. Thank you for sharing!
I grew up in NJ and I had no idea what gorgeous shells could be found just sitting on the beach! I love living here and exploring all the amazing beaches. Thank you for watching!
A little bit of paradise.... Somewhere to meditate and relax. A perfect place to explore for shells 👍💕💕💕
It truly was paradise being out there looking for goodies. Thank you so much for coming along with me!
@@SWFBeachLife wouldn't miss it for the world .... Living in the UK, our beaches are not so spectacular . 🥰
WOWZA! What a beautiful day and such an abundance of beautiful shells! I would have lost my mind! You must have filled several shell bags today just with the murexs and tulips and gaudy nauticas, just amazing! Thanks so much for bring us along again..🐚❤️
I had almost no room left in my bag by the time I was done. It was so much fun. And I was cleaning shells for DAYS!!
Wow, so many shells. I am in love with the naming. I never knew there was such a thing. Thank you!
I don't know why I became so interested in learning what type of shells I was finding on the beach. Every single one has a name and eventually I hope to learn them all!
Hi beach friend,
What an amazing haul! 😍
This was quite and abundance of Lace Murex, Gaudy Nautica and Banded Tulips. Think you've never found so many of these species in one trip before. 🤩
Your shell bag must have felt extremely heavy after this trip. 😅
Shelling alone on this island must have felt amazing! Just you, your hubby and that amazing beach! What a treat!
And next week we continue on this island, can't wait to see it.
Wishing you a wonderful week!! Big hug and lots of love ❤, Ilona
I have never, ever found so many murex, banded tulips and gaudy's in one trip! I love a variety but it's always pretty special when you can find so many beautiful ones in the same day. It really was amazing being out there. I didn't sit down the entire time and just searched and admired and took it all in. Thanks as always for coming to Florida with me all the way from the Netherlands!
Counting the days down to come back home! Can't hardly wait to get in the water and seek those beautiful shells of SWF beaches! Love how great your day was!!
I hope you have a fabulous time when you're here and find lots of beachy goodness!!! 🐚
Omg you hit the mother load ! Wow what a crazy wonderful beach island day ! That’s a very beautiful island ! Well done 👍
Thank you 🤗 I picked another good place to be that day! Thanks so much for watching!
Excellent video - so many beautiful finds!!! I must say though... did you miss a pinkish Lace Murex at 3:26(right above the Banded Tulip)?
I missed a limpet, a spiny jewel box, a few tulips - when I was editing I was going nuts at all the shells I didn't check out. However, I did manage to find a few to bring home, so I'm not going to complain 😅
I would have freaked out! What a great shelling day! Thank you for taking us along!
It was unbelievable! I'm so glad I can share all the goodies I found and the beautiful island with you!
You have the best shelling videos. Very well done. My family and I will be down in SWF in March and can't wait to find some of these shells. Thank you for such great content.
You are so very welcome! I just love the beach and thankfully, I like editing videos too so it's the best of both worlds to me! I appreciate the awesome comment! ☺️I hope you find tons of great treasures when you are down here in March!
I hope sometime in the next several years to get back down there. It will be for intense shelling for 2 or 3 days if the back holds out. Lots of ruptured discs and nerve damage in lower back unfortunately. I want some shells to look at again and to do a couple of display crafts maybe jars. I have one that I packed that way and 2 big Queen Conchs from the 70s that I bubble wrapped and put in my undies etc box when moving. My 14 shell extra large totes were packed with bubble wrap on all delicate and throughout to cushion the rest. I asked these to go on last. After movers left I could not locate among Christmas totes, Halloween, and Misc garage totes. They took them I was saving to put out, craft with etc. Alot of weekend shelling by me from 89 till 92 to get those shells. I moved away from Sarasota and the state at end of 93. I used to drive down on a Friday night to Sanibel. I'd get up at 5:30 and shell all day Sat and till about 2on Sunday and head back to Sarasota. On weekends I couldn't go down I was in Venice getting sharks teeth or I'd go out on Siesta Key. Not alot there. I'd go down to Point of Rocks to shell. There was a great spot beyond but water went waist high fast and tiger sharks were there. The lady whom owned the house right passed Point of Rocks used to fish daily there and wrangle with the sharks. I miss the smell of the sea. Not the heat, humidity, topography (flat), or onerous creatures ie allagators, and the rattlesnakes.i lived off University and my home backed up to dense woods. Unfortunately, during mating season the gators would be in the yard on the way to the small lake/or huge pond as we say in Knoxville. I like to visit, but glad I moved back in 96 to Knoxville and my Smokey Mountains not far away. Cost of living is much less here in regards to property taxes, homeowners, and water and electricity. Plus it's no state income tax like Florida. They've called Knoxville a mini Atlanta in regards to restaurants balanced with our population numbers. Our weather, unfortunately as I miss snow, is like South Georgia and N Florida alot in winter. I stay in shorts inside. I don't normally wear a light coat or one at all in my car, unless it's below 42. Keep one on a hanger, just never need them to dart in and out of places. So our weather is moderate. 2 Decembers it was in the 70s some during the day.
I do miss Siesta Key, and Sanibel. But, omg, I hated those darn no see ums as we called them. They didn't bother dad but ate mom and I alive until I was 15 and discovered Avons Skin so Soft spray. Our 2nd vacation there was much nicer and mom and I shelled.
Amazing memories! Thank you for sharing!
Wow! You're in shell heaven today! I'd go nuts if I was there. Have you done a shell cleaning video before? I've only seen the acid dipping video. Anyway, thanks for taking us along. Can't wait to see next week's video!
I've done the bleaching video, a hydro peroxide for sand dollars, acid and oil but not cleaning per se. There is another cleaning method I'm going to try and I'll be sure to share!
@@SWFBeachLife Cool. Looking forward to watching it!
Wonderful collection of shells. I’m watch from the UK. Love your videos thank you.Graham🇬🇧🇬🇧👍👍❤️
Thanks so much for watching across the pond! You have some neat things on the Thames over there too!
Wow! So excited to see this week’s video bc I just booked a trip in Nov to go to Kice. I am freaking out seeing all your beachy goodness. I cannot wait for our trip next month. I’m screaming to my husband watching this, “another cone, another lace murex!” Poor guy is just tryin to watch football. 🤣🤗🐚🐚🐚🐚
LOL! Well that's hilarious! It was a pretty epic day and I hope your luck is just as good as mine was and you find everything you're looking for! 🐚
You have a great treasure found there with all that shells. But you sound today so happy. I was happy with you...❤👍😀
I think its good you never found a live Cone snail cause they harbor conotoxins and you should never handle them! This was such a pretty shell hunt day loved the video : )
I heard one only one shell group down here that found a cone alive so I suppose it's possible. I'd like to SEE a live one, but I'd never pick it up!
I could watch you for hours and never be bored. Great finds. Can't wait for next week! Ty so much!
Yay! Thank you so much for coming along with me!
Thank you for your video! What a beautiful island! I do not have any gaudy nautica shells and I would love to have one. Hoping to get back to Sw Florida before the end of the year. Thank you thank you for bringing us such cool videos.
You are so welcome and when you do come back I hope you find a bunch of gaudy's - and a whole sand dollar to replace the one that broke!
@@SWFBeachLife thank you so much. Can't wait to go shelling again!
What a great beach day. Loved all the shells you found. I thought it was funny that the murex and tulips seemed to be together on this beach. Thank you for the great day
Yeah, it was a big ol' murex party that I showed up to. It was so fun! Thanks so much for coming along!
Thanks for sharing your adventures and treasures! An uninhabited Island tour is on my bucket list!🌊🐬🏝🐚😎
You are so very welcome. I highly recommend island shelling! I hope you do get to go one day 🌴🌊🐚
I live for Sunday for these videos! Thank you so much!
I'm laughing... just watching this and saying to myself, "missed one" here and there. 😝 this was a dream trip for shelling. Love it! ❤️
I missed TONS of shells! It was driving me crazy as I was editing seeing all the ones I missed. I ended up with an obscene amount of shells so I'm certainly not going to complain!!!
I find myself doing the same thing. Yelling at the screen go back, turn the camera, you missed one! ❤🐚🏝🤗
@@nancymorrison9978 Oh I missed more than one for sure! Hopefully someone else found them! 🤣

Omg... I may have gone to shell heaven!!!!! This is breathtaking..and the view no words!!!!! Thank you thank you..hugs!
Glad you enjoyed it! It was such a wonderful day on Kice Island! 🐚
I'm in rainy Michigan. Yes, we're surrounded by water but at my age with my elderly parents just getting in the car is like climbing Everest. So I love seeing/hearing the water and looking at all the beautiful shells 😁👍 and learning what they all are. It's beach therapy.
This might be one of my favorite SWF videos ever. WOW!
Aww - thank you! And to think we're only half way there!
I am a brand new subscriber. I love the scenery and all the beautiful shell's! You are very blessed to be able to see all theses different places. I have a question....what do you do with all the shells you find? I live in Southern California and we do not have any beautiful shell's here unless I am not going to the right places. Thank you for taking us along your journey with you! I would never be ables to see some of the areas you have visited. God bless.
Welcome aboard! I have been getting a lot of questions about my collection so I will be putting together a video about it soon. Basically I keep some shells, others I put to the side to sell and then anything else that doesn't make the cut goes back to the beach. I am SO lucky to live here and I have always loved the beach but these shells fascinate me! I hope you get to see and learn a whole bunch about Southwest Florida.
Your passion made me smile, i remember how i always get a bad sunburn from beach combing. More power to you🤓
I wear a long sleeve shirt in the summer to avoid the sunburn!
Lots of lace in this one!!!Love those 😍
This video series is so amazing!! i went to book for my birthday in a couple weeks and it looks like the shuttle is not being offered again until January 😩 I can’t wait to go. we may kayak there. So excited to explore the area.
There are quite a few other tours that go to Kice, so just look around if you really want to go in a few weeks. I went on a kayak tour with SWFL Shell Guide and she was amazing! You might not go to Kice, but she'll take you to where she thinks the best shelling will be 🤗
Cinnamon Nutmegs , banded and true tulips, gaudis, sharks, lace and apple murex, Florida conchs, juvenile conchs, horse conchs, king crown, cats paw, alphabet cone, Florida cone, Junonia, scotch bonnets, the calicos, rose telling, the whelks, jewel boxes, the bubbles, Venus Sunray, dosinia love the bivalves still together, baby's ear, dove shell, angel wing, olives are my favorites. Plus the tiny shell bivalves and gastropods which I don't remember the names. I had coffee cans of those.
I was just wondering if you rent a boat can you explore that island as well we will be going in November. How amazing all the shells
Yes you sure can. I have my own kayak and I plan on going down there and paddling myself over to Kice or some of the other little islands over there.
Finally, I can tell the difference between a shark eye and a nautica.THANK YOU! What a great day you had. I'm looking forward to next week's finish. Another relaxing day at the beach!
You are so welcome! There was someone who asked for me to show the different between a banded and a true tulip but it's been forever since I've found a true tulip! And I found SO many gaudy's that I figured it would be good to point out the difference between those and the "regular" moon snails (shark eyes). It was a crazy fun day! Thanks for coming along!
Thanks for identifying each shell. It's super helpful.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks so much for watching!
Love lace murex so cute shell. I like the angel wing too. The perfect little white sand dollar. Lettered olive love 💕 you are awesome. Thanks
There were so many beautiful shells to pick from! Thank you so much for coming along!
What an amazing haul. Congrats and thank you so much. I look forward to your Sunday posts with true glee! 😍😍😍
Thanks so much 😊 I hope you're learning along with me too! 🌴🌊🐚
Absolutely amazing!! Colorful moonsnails are one of my favorites!! What a wonderful shelling adventure. I will put Kice Island on my bucket list for next year. Heading to Navarre Beach in two weeks, excited to see what the shelling is like there. I know it won't beat SWF though! 😍
I don't think anywhere in Florida is as good as it is down here, but I do know there are some shells up there. I hope you find a bunch and have a wonderful time, but do check out Kice if you're in the area. It's pretty spectacular!
Awesome finds. Love the banded tulips and lettered olives
Thanks for watching!
Lace murex shells are so beautiful. My favorite. Frilly & feminine. TFS all of your adventures with us, I've learned so much from you. I'm getting to know Florida. I live in NY, have only traveled to Clearwater. 🌊🌞🐠🐟🐬🐇🐋🐙🐌🐚🐚🐚🐡🐲🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐙🐚🐚
Well know you know what you might find if you ever make it down to Southwest Florida. I'm very partial, but I think we have the best shelling beaches around. Thank you so much for coming along on my walk with me!
Fabulous shells and beautiful beach. Thank you. Looking forward to the second part
It was such a fun day - thank you for coming along!
What a neat island. So many cool shells to collect. Love those fancy lace murex. How do you clean off those barnacles or beach stuff stuck on the shells? It is amazing to find so many good shells in one area. Love this trip and looking forward to next video.
It was amazing to find so many good shells in one trip! I soaked the shells, then scrubbed any dirt or muck off. Anything green got soaked in bleach. There was lots of work with a dental pick to get those barnacles and other "stuff" off. It took me days to clean them all, but it was worth it! ☺️
Watching a day late. Beautiful haul!!! Do you think Kice Island is a good winter shelling destination ?
I bet Kice would be spectacular in the winter and in a few months I'm going to find out!
Awesome shell finds. Fun! Fun! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Your Kice Island videos are my favorite. I've rewatched them. I wonder if I rented the Captain and his boat for the day if he could get me close to the bare tree forest you shell in. I say for day as I would want him to stay. It might be more than 500.00 per day. I would need a break spot to come to to rest my back. Hm
You can always give them a call and see what they say! I know they are quite popular these days but I also know they do offer private tours if you can arrange it in advance: www.swflshellguide.com
You hit the jackpot on this one!!! So fun shelling with you through your videos.
Yes, I definitely hit the jackpot at Kice on this day! I can only imagine how that place must look after a storm. Hopefully one of these days I'll find out! Thanks so much for coming along!
My favs are the kitten paw, lace murax, apple murax and the Florida fighting conch shells, Im sure I’m spelling all of them wrong but I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. I love them all but those are the ones I truly dream to have in my collection someday 🤗by the way I so needed this beach time today so thank you so much for these videos ❤️
I know exactly what you mean! The names are hard enough to pronounce, let alone spell them 😅 I'm so glad I could get you to the beach. I hope you are relaxing and restoring. Love and strength my beach friend! ❤️
What an exciting day! Beautiful weather. Do you have any projects going with your shells? My 3 year old grandson just loves listening to the ocean in the shells. I’m surprised there aren’t more large shells.
I have shells and supplies put to the side, I just need to find the time to get around to making my projects. One of these days I'll get around to it. And of course, I'll make a video and share ☺️
I thought I was going to have to take a blood pressure pill while watching! So many shells and such treasures the sea gave up to you. I got so excited shelling right along with you! Was that the husband's feet we saw in the black and blue beach shoes :) Can't wait until next Sunday to watch the rest!
I literally laughed out loud at your comment! 😅 Yes, it was an unbelievable day out there. Even going shelling as much as I do it was super exciting to find all those treasures! I was accompanied by a friend, not my husband this time.
I wish we could find all the shells you find. Don't find tulips, murexs gaudy nautica, horse conch, top shells, cones, pear welks, etc., on the Texas gulf coast. I noticed you bypassed sunray vensus and other things I would have picked up. I may have to come to Florida.
This was a particularly spectacular shelling day - it's not always like this but boy when it is, it's unbelievable! I normally would pay attention to the Florida Fighting Conchs and other more common shells, but I wanted to take advantage of the more rare shells that I could collect and not weight my bag down! The beaches down here in SWFL are fantastic! I hope you do get to experience it for yourself one day.
LOVE, LOVE all the shells!! Omg! You had a shell bonanza that day! 😊🐚
It is a shelling day I will not soon forget. Those lace murexes were insane!!!
I love love love all your videos but especially this one. I had a similar experience at Kice Island. Can't wait to go back. I will also try Keewadin Island thanks to another of your videos😁👍😉
You are so very welcome! I hope Kice is as nice to you as it was to me when you go!
That such an huge amount of shells there, also did you see that (i think) florida fighting conch at 17:57 in the bottom right, it looked pure white with bright orange inside :O
I did see it - but since it wasn't 100% white I probably didn't bother with it. I really try NOT to pick those up on the islands I go to since I can kind of find them all the time. I'm so spoiled!
@@SWFBeachLife it looked so white in the video beside the orange, ye i bet fightning conches fill up the bag fast else also ^^
@@basvanderwerff2725 They sure do! And they can get quite heavy!
Oh man that was fun! Can hardly wait for next week! I miss shelling so much, I started rockhounding in Wisconsin. Love shelling so much more. Hahaha
Have you found any good rocks? My husband has dishes of rocks he's found on the beach all over the house. There's just something special about collecting but I too have a special place in my heart for the shells! 🐚
Thank you from New Mexico!!! I so want to take a trip and go shelling 🧜🏻♀️🐚
Well if you do, I suggest Southwest Florida. We have the best shells! 🌴🌊🐚
Watching..again !! Love Kice Island..thank you for the memories !!
I love those cone shells! This place was like a toy store!
It was amazing! There were great shells everywhere! Thank you for coming along!
Wow!!! Kice Island…gonna have to check it out someday.
I hope you get to check it out one day. It's pretty awesome! 🐚
Wow! All those lace and apples are amazing!! What a beautiful haul!!
Crazy right? Thanks so much for watching!
Thank you for all your inspiring videos! In the Englewood area, go to stump pass often but your horse conch was the best!! If I was to head south what is your favorite place? kice island is impressive!
Sanibel is just beautiful since more than half the island is reserved for the critters, so I love the feel of Sanibel. If you're strictly for shells, lately Marco Island has been great. If you don't want to go that far, I would say Sanibel, Fort Myers Beach and Lover's Key are all pretty good for shelling if you hit them at the right time. Hopefully the winter winds will start pushing those shells onto the beach soon!
@@SWFBeachLife Greatly appreciated! Thank you for all you do!
When you said you've never found a live cone, I was so glad you said that. I commented in the past how I live in SWFL and Alphabet Cones are my favorite shell. However, many people do not realize that all cone snails are venomous. I have also never found a live cone snail and hope not to. Please be careful if you ever come across a real one and drop it immediately. They will sting with no warning and your beach trip may end in the hospital. I know you love to check out critters, but they are not the ones you want to handle. Shell On my beach friend and be safe! Some people can only see our beautiful natural treasures by your videos. Other shelling channels do not represent as well as you!
The alphabet cone sting is more like a bee sting - I still wouldn't want to be stung, but I don't think it would be a life and death event. Thank goodness! I've seen a photo of one live one down here, so I know it's possible but I wouldn't try to handle it. I've been stung by an urchin so I've already learned my lesson! Thank you so much for taking the time to come along with me on my beach adventures!
Thank you so much for another nice trip on the beach it was so exciting to see all your findings. I look forward to the next time 🐚🐚🐚
Thank you so much for allowing me to share my walks with you!
What a fabulous day you had! Thank you for sharing.
You are so welcome! Thanks so much for watching!
As we say in Maine, that's some wicked good shellin'!
Wicked shelling indeed! Thanks so much for watching!
Oh my goodness please go back here at negative low tide or maybe even some snorkeling? This beach is amazing I'm loving the variety!
I'm definitely going to bring my own kayak down there for some shelling. And the winter time should be amazing!!!

Will be staying on Sanibel first week.of December what one boat ride for shells would you recommend
Reach back out to me once December is a little closer. Hopefully I'll be able to take a few more tours and give you my recommendation for the best ones!
Had to watch it again... couldn't wait until Sunday😆😁...love this video
Would you please show the differences between a paper fig and a pear welk?
I can do that! I'll need to wait until I find them both on a shelling day or just add that info to my other channel!
I am going out on the same tour you did to Kice island next week but their website says they have closed the parking lot at the marina. Did you have any problems parking? I looked online but nothing is noted about it. Thank you.
I know there was some talk about closing the marina but that fell through and it will stay open. I would just give them a call to get the best/most updated info. I haven't heard anything about the lot being closed.
Wow! Did this not beat any time you have been on Sanibel? I thought Tigertail was incredible, but this is unbelievable. I am sooooo envious.
This was just ridiculous shelling. I am definitely going back with my own kayak so I can spend the day there. This beat almost any other shelling trip I can think of. Well, that day I found the giant horse conch was pretty fun too. Oh I can't wait to have more days like this!! Thanks for coming along!
Wow, would love to hunt this island!! Loved this video and always enjoy your narration! You make it fun!
Aw, thank you so much! And thanks so much for coming along on my beach walks with me!
Wow beautiful treasures❤️I so enjoyed this video. Can’t wait till next Sunday to continue. Are your shells for sale ?🐚🐚🐚
Thank you so much! Yes, I do sell my shells. Shoot me an email at swfbeachlife@gmail.com and I'll give you all the details!
* You found a treasure of treasures.. I thought I saw Spiny Jewel Boxes but I must have been wrong.. Sometimes you panned the camera too fast & I couldn't look . . Thank you for sharing this island with us.. So much fun..
Oh I missed quite a few shells! It was driving me crazy as I was editing but since I managed to find so many great shells, I'm certainly not going to complain! Thank you so much for watching!
What kind of trees are those that grow on the beach? Are they mangroves?
The mangroves are the alive trees. They can tolerate the salt water. The dead ones are probably some sort of invasive tree that shouldn't be there at the beach and the salt water killed them. I am going to eventually become a Florida Master Naturalist and I'm going to learn about all this stuff so I will have more info to share on my channel!
I usually see lots of live lace murex at Kice during low tide. It is the only place I have ever seen live ones
Now that you say that, I'm wondering if I've ever seen a live lace murex. I've definitely seen live apples, but I can't remember if I've seen a live lace. I'll be sure to look for them next time I'm there!
Love shells we don’t get same kind shells in nc as fla. I did get some nice ones in Panama City. Looks like you had great find! 😊❤️🐚
We have some pretty fantastic shells on the beach, but the island seem to really have amazing stashes! It was so fun - thank you for coming along!
Omg I've just come across these videos and omg i love the shell's and wish i could do this but unfortunately I'm in the UK and we definitely don't have beaches like yours very jealous
I have quite a few beach friends from the UK! One is on the Isle of Wright! We do have some pretty fantastic beaches here and I just love sharing them!
What a huge supply. Looking forward to next week's haul.
Another perfect day of shelling!
I enjoy all your adventures! Keep them coming 😁
Thank you so much! And thank you for allowing me to share my walks with you!
What are the rules of etiquette on the beach when you are all looking through the tide line?
What a great question! In theory, all shellers should give other shellers ample room. You shouldn't crowd other people or get in their space. Not everyone abides by these rules and it is probably really hard for people who only get to shell a week or two out of the year but I just try to be kind and leave other people ample room. If I feel like someone is crowding me I just relocate. I don't like "competing" for the shells. ☺️
It’s very considerate of you to give us tiny beautiful time outs.
Took my breathe away. Love your finds. If you have a boat of your own, can you go to these Islands?
You sure can! The weather is almost stable enough for me to take my kayak down there. I didn't ever want to get stuck out in the open like that with a chance of a storm so I'm also ready to take my own craft there and go shelling!
This is my problem I cannot relax when hunting for shells… what a score you got there!!!!
I enjoy the quiet time in-between the shell finding. I just love the beach!
