Picked this one up in Feb (mid-season here in JP) It was really fun in the powder, and "surfy" really is the best way to describe it. It's that sort of playfulness that attracted me to it and I was not disappointed. Also, as you very well said it's great in tighter tree areas and really upgraded my tree game whereas before I used to really struggle with tree rides. This is more of a get out to nature, back country and powder days board than resort in my opinion but it wasn't unpleasant in the resort. Definitely didn't like it so much for jumps but with more time on it I think I can get more out of it in that department, still, it's not what it's for.

I won one of these from nidecker. I honestly never would have bought it but was pleasantly surprised with how fun it is

Can’t wait for Nidecker to put a different top sheet on this and call it the SPC Pro Model 😂

This is too much board for Kevin they'll probably put it on whatever the lowest end board is they have.

Does it come in a SPC signature version, that has a cushioned back seat?

Hi Angry, Is the regular Nidecker Beta any better of a board than the Mellow? Your review of the Mellow has me concerned. I just picked up a Beta from Backcountry through your affiliate link, but after flexing I can see how the nose can be very flappy like the Mellow. I’ll be using it more for carving and slashing snowsurf style on groomers, more than on powder. Wondering if I should return it before I ride it. I was leaning toward nidecker because I love how their sidecuts and how well they carve relative to most other boards.

For what you're describing you're fine.

Awesome, thank you for your response. I just saw you have the review for the Beta dropping soon. Can’t wait to hear your verdict. Peace and thank you all you do to help snowboarding.

    This versus the Endeavor Scout…?
Was planning on adding a Scout to quiver, though this got me curious as seems comparable. In your opinion, do they ride pretty similarly? One a clear winner over the other?

They ride different. Mellow is better at carving and floats better.

Old shape was a better carver in my opinion, new shape better in pow.

Is the nose softer than the nose of the Stale Fish?

Sounds like it off this review. I really like the nose on the fish, I didn't notice much chatter with it but I've only been in slush or fresh snow, it feels perfect to lean into a press and snap out.

Stalefish is definitely less flappy at speeds than this
