This is something that you guys should have been doing for a long a time. This is what draws new customers and hooks.

@@KazeNoTaniFarmHakuba yes but I imagine there are a lot of people who don't know about Max or just had no time to delve into it. More videos like this would definitely help the new users get started more quickly and make it seem less intimidating than it appears to be.
I disagree, this is far too overwhelming for new customers who just want to "make a song", its an insanely powerful tool no doubt, but one limited to Ableton power users

Max and puredata were both created by Miller Puckette so they have a huge amount in common.

Hi there! If you have Live Suite, you can access Max for Live and use Max devices without any additional purchases. If you have a different version, like Live 12 Intro or Standard, you can get a Max for Live license to use Max devices within your version of Live. Learn more here: brnw.ch/21wJxFT

please make the BPM and Time Sig columns on the Master Session column collapsible so we can have more text real estate for naming Scenes.

If you drag the divider for the column to its smallest state, the BPM and time signature columns do disappear. But if you expand it, they will be visible after that and can't be made to disappear. It sounds like being able to clear those out is what you're looking for. We will add your feature request to our internal feature request list.

yes so in my case i use Ableton as not only a sound design platform for live theater, but a playback and processing platform for live theater. solid as a rock!
but after i'm done programming in tech rehearsal i hand off to the sound operator who triggers the cue (Scenes).
i use the text field for information on the Cue name, page number, a description, maybe a line from the text. so i need as much text real estate as i can get, and also the most uncluttered Session space i can get to hand off to the operator.
the old way, i had more space for info and it was more uncluttered to the right of the screen. (i also though adding tempo at time sig within the text of the Scene name was kinda charming, but that's my quirk:)
also a feel like certain songwriters or other artists like to pull their Ableton sets toward the literary.
so i think it would be great if designers or songwriters could cover the clutter and even include (fairly) extensive poetry, prose and information in the Master column.
would also be great to be able to export and print the Column's text as a list.

Is there a way to rent to own ableton? I can't seem to find it anywhere.. If platforms like splice offer this, it would be a huge success.. Cause no body wants to spend 700 dollars upfront for another daw.

This tutorial is hilarious. It doesn't explain what max is, what it does or why it's useful.

Not exactly, Max has been around for much longer than FL studio-in fact, early versions of Ableton were developed in Max!
Edit: Actually they were both developed around the same time, late 90's, but the point stands

This very similar to FL Studio Patcher.
Both are node based programming but Patcher only can take VST's as objects. Max does so much more than that allowing for scripting of things as well

WTF is this just a pretty version of pure data? This isn't new, you could have been using puredata 20 years ago if you wanted. It's been opensource the entire time.
Max is even older than PD, they are both in fact originally authored by the same person.
max is older. i have used both. you get what you pay for. max has way more features, seamless interop with ableton, and also looks and feels so much better. there is no comparison. puredata is only free if your time is worth nothing

@@morecowbell2611 Used Live for almost 20 years. Jumped ship because they totally stopped supporting the software and became the Ableton Push company and started charging as much for their version updates as the full entry cost for other DAWs. Shit company.They lost the plot after version 8.
