Try that fire bolt on for size. Tons of damage. Couple that with a Flame Atronach spell during your college adventures and you'll feel the PYROMAGE POWER

Ice wraith essence works as a frost resistance potion alternative + pairing that with fire spells/enchanted weapons will make short work of them

I haven't played as much as you in this modpack yet, but in the vanilla game there are horse drawn carriages that you can hire to take you to the major cities. They're usually by the stables outside somewhere just sitting there.
