To be fair, he's doing a great job at highlighting the cheater problem in APEX. What greater way to make the biggest names in APEX talk about the cheater infestation than to do something like this in the middle of EA's biggest pro event. Its extremely embarrassing for EA!!! Now EA cannot hide from the cheater situation. EA must do something.

Playing the game right now exposes your PC to who knows what. The game is running on an old engine. What will EA do? Create a new engine for Apex? I think it's gg

Unless EA/Respawn make an official announcement about this OR we as a community make enough noise about this so that it reaches those casuals players to stop playing then the company is going to sweep this under a rug. I wish this happened during a bigger event like at a LAN bc the viewership quadruples vs online ones and it would really expose the game insecurities to a broader audience. I'm afraid this won't make big enough headlines which will result to nothing happening and Repawn just right back chasing our money again. The game is so dogshit for it to have such a loyal fanbase

The hacker clearly didn't want the careers of the pros destroyed (implied by the text chat during the hacks, without which Genburten as well as Hal would be doubted heavily) - mofo wanted to highlight the problem by doing this during the most prominent tournament of Apex. Putting it in front of EA/Respawn. Hopefully they finally expend resources in this problem.

This game has been infested with cheaters from day one. EA could actually put some effort in, instead of the incredibly useless and buggy easy anticheat.

I gave them a lot of money to improve their game and support them. 5 years later, in return they totally abandonned the basic needs of their playerbase and have put them all in danger in terms of digital security. This is actually criminal and if it is proven that they knew about their security holes, then this game is done and the lawsuits will come in flying. I mean they must have known something because Destroyer was doing crazy shit for a while now. They must have had lots of crisis meetings, and maybe the layoffs at Respawn are linked to it.

I strongly disagree with NiceWigg PoV on the cheater. He’s doing gods work by highlighting the cheating issue this game has had for the past 5 years in front of the world on an official tournament.
EA now have no choice but to react and fix the issues if they do not wanna get their reputation destroyed further. It is the only way to make them finally take accountability and fix the shit they’ve let to rot for the sake of profit.
This guy was messing with Faide about a week ago, and also got him banned for an hour or two until Hideouts got him unbanned. He also used another troll alias that had Hal's name in it. This guy clearly has been part of the Apex community for a long time. He knows the pros alternate handles. He is focused on people who have great influence. Some are saying he could be an employee that was fired from Respawn. I think it's just a fan of the game who is agitated about something.
Mande interviewed him. Destroyer2009 is out of his mind. He thinks that his cheats he had developed are some sort of hidden skill gap. He thinks he is better than the pros. He's also a legit silver player without hacks. He is some 19 yr old loser that lives in Belarus or somewhere in Europe.

I understand Hal's reaction since it's an extremely tense and emotional situation, but he's definitely retroactively justifying it as wanting to end the tournament. His comms to his teammates clearly don't align for a second with a conscious effort to make the admins end the match. His focus was on winning, as it should be as a pro player in a tournament, and he made a judgement call in the heat of the moment when something completely unexpected happened. I take no issue with what he did, I just call bullshit when I see it.

The most obvious thing happened and everybody is trying to ignore it. They had hacks ALREADY and someone just activated them. It’s THAT easy. Kids that try to say anything to cover and protect them. From an IT point of view, you can’t remote install something on someone’s computer mid game without “run as admin”. Ofc they are cheating from time to time and who is on those discord channels, you know which ones, you’d see how many pros are doing it.
Run it down mid and beam everything. Get the game thrown away. No reason to accept a compromise of competitive integrity at all whether it is for (your kills with cheats) or against (you leaving/AFKing) your team.
Imagine the multitude of people like myself who have poured hundreds if not thousands of dollars into this game.
And they STILL prioritize bullshit skins stickers and heirlooms to suck more money out of you while allowing the very soul of their game to be destroyed by cheaters.
Its getting more notoriety now because its happening on the big stage but think of the average experience where cheating boosting and teaming are way more rampant.
This is a terrible look for Respawn and EA.
