YES YES YES! I had 2 male bettas that lived with platys and guppies in 2 community tanks and currently have a female in a community tank w/ all male juvenile guppies! it solely depends on their personality and should be assimilated INTO a well established community tank slowly under observation! What I did was choose my bettas individually at the store by noting the calmer ones that didnt flare beside others then i placed them within a seperate breeding box in established community tanks (with community live-bearers & bottom feeding corycats only!) I do not suggest assimilating betta with more aggressive type fish like barbs, angels or tetras which can be nippy! After 24 hours I released each betta into the community tanks and they all got along wonderfully and were very happy. There was a time or two where one of the males were grumpy in his feeding space but certainly nothing dangerous!
*smiles* He's doing ok now. I got a Pleco, so they are being moved to a bigger tank once the cycle is finished. And after my other betta recovers, he'll go in my ten gallon. I love spoiling my fish. The new tank has a broken bell, a sunken ship, a cave, a log, and live plants. :D
Thanks a bunch for posting this. I have a Crowntail Betta in a Ten Gallon tank...he kept going after my mollies. I had to get rid of my mollies and it left me feeling very guilty and heartbroken. I love my fish...so...*sniffles* it was hardest thing I had to do. I'm never putting mollies in with him again. :'(
If the rasbora is the only rasbora in the tank, I think you should get more but research on them and see how much space they need! I'm not quite sure myself! And for the filter, you could also make a home-made filter baffle ;)
It's got a filter. The low setting is a tiny bit stronger then the AquaClear one in the ten gallon. But I put some plants to weaken the flow. XD Thorn likes being by the heater and around his ship. Rogue's lounging around on a leaf. Happy as a clam. But Spot, my Resbora's all lonely; none others like him. I want to get a few more to make Spot happy.
I just recently bought platys and my betta was already about 1 week with me in a different tank. So I put the platys in first and then place the betta in a different platic bag and acclimate it to the tank where it would get used to the platys that are already in the tank. I’m planning to get like 2 mor eplatys though
hows your fish doing now? your tank looks lovely too :-) i will get a group of platies too for my female betta tank so i hope everything would go well. :)
I can’t believe this comment is a whopping 8 years old! Anyway I’ve added platies and a female betta into my 10 gallon at the same time and they are doing great! One thing though is that I bought my betta in a store where they had one tank full of females so it may have contributed to her lack of aggressiveness.
feel bad for you, i finally decided to do a community so i got him a 10 gallon instead, he is living with red cherry shrimps and they do alright together
A less risky way to do this is to add the platy's first then after there settled in add the betta.

Pleeaasseee may I have one ❤️
I'm sure he will love it! If you have a filter make sure the water current isn't too strong for him!

those we're a good choice for what type of platy to get. I love the orange with a little bit of black on the tail.

Just got two plattys from walmart. Betta not once flared at them. I looked up at the tank and my betta keeps attacking the patty
Did it end up working out?
Fraser's Life unfortunately no i thought they were ok because they were peaceful for 3 days and then woke up to both dead from the betta
@@shroomslut9817 wow I'm sorry.
Next time You should add more fish so the betta cant single them out and or keep the betta alone in a 5 gallon

Great thanks 😊
Your farvel is beautiful 😍 where did you get it?

My betta was pretty angry because of me adding platies he always chased them, untill he got used to them
Emiliano .Gam4 how long did it take for agression to stop?
i also want to know. i just got a platy and the betta is crazy angry. i dont know wat to do
Is your Betta a male or female? Mine is a male and I had to take him out because he kept attacking the Platies.
i think its better to interdurce platy and after 2-3days inderduce betta
I have my Betta with platys and cory catfish, everyone gets along. Only problem is the piggy platys eat the catfish food.
Betta can wear them out and hurt them unless you have a school of platies .
This is a 21 gallon tank and bettas only attack fish that they mistake for their species!
