Thank you for sharing your lovely garments. I know you have been knitting for quite a while and was surprised that there was only one item older than three years. And I know that you’ve knit a lot of shawls.
Here I sit, watching this video, knitting on the sweater that I cast on today in Kinross 4ply in the bright red color Mary! I love it so much already! It took more than 2 months for the yarn to arrive from the UK to The Netherlands (which is really not that far). But it was worth the waiting. I prewashed the yarn, and it is so lovely to work with. I can already tell that this will be very comfortable and warm for a fingering weight sweater. Lovely and inspiring episode :-) Maybe I also need a Raina shawl in my life. Who knows...
It's interesting what you say about Brooklyn Tweed. I agree it is polarizing. When it first came out and was all the rage (just the Loft and Shelter), I ordered some. I live in Canada and at that point you could NOT get it here and it was SO expensive to ship/with the exchange rate but I had to have it. I made 2 shawls. The yarn looked very nice but it was so fragile that I really didn't enjoy working with it. I now know that some batches are more fragile than others. Also, at that time, I was a newer knitter and I wasn't as dexterous as I've become. Lord, that yarn broke every 3 minutes. I felt robbed. Honestly, I'd spent so much money, so much time waiting for it and I hated the experience. After that, I tried 2 other BT bases and I have to say, neither thrilled me (for totally diff reasons - they were in no way fragile). So for me, BT - thus far - is a lot of hype that hasn't paid off. (Hilariously, now it's avail all over Canada.) But I do know other knitters that would walk into traffic for a free crate of this yarn. They love everything about it. So I guess that's why choice is the coin of the realm. 🙂 PS: I have totally bought the hype of the Kinross now and I can't find it! Where did you buy yours?
I'm also in Canada. I've ordered the Kinross directly from Wee County in Scotland...I haven't started knitting with it yet. I have had Shelter stowed away for a while to knit a Weekender...I think I'm afraid the neckline will irritate my skin...I'll have to look for another pattern 😊
Yes! It’s so wonderful that everyone loves different thing! I ordered my Kinross directly from the Wee County website, which I have linked in the video description. Happy knitting!
@@sandracroley9784 I've heard everyone talking about how it starts out like normal yarn and blocks like cashmere. Of course, I've got to try it! Thanks.
Lovely knits, they look great, love that red one:). Ive only made 2 jumpers for myself so far, I don't have a favourite yet, I'm.stlll learning and have chosen a few more jumper patterns to try.

I definitely feel like I’ve honed in on items that I will get a lot of use out of over the last few years ❤️
