Tethering for photography has never been easier! Today we are looking at the CamRanger 2, I have been using this device to wirelessly tether my camera to an iPad for months now, and I am sharing all my thoughts on this guy! Plus this also acts as a quick setup guide for the Camranger 2!

Thanks for the information. Your video popped up in the search for a refresher I was looking to do for this unit. I’ve had one but hadn’t used it in over a year. It would’ve been helpful to mention a lot of those quirks that you hinted about. There are tons of them regarding JPEG‘s eyes, connection issues, use with a laptop,… Could be a good follow up video for you. No devices perfect

Hi, how can i see live view from my camera. nikon d810 when the camrange 2 is connacted?
Click on the EYE icon - shows just above the capture butt on on my iPad Min 4 :)

Does the cam ranger 2 have a live view function you can use your iPad to view before taking the image like the original cam ranger?
It does indeed! You can also use it to monitor video from your iPad as well.

Would you recommend this one for video?
It depends on what you're using it for with video, it can work for video as well but I also find there are options that can be more reliable if you're doing a lot of wireless video monitoring on set, especially if you have anyone pulling focus where you need minimal to no lag. But for a comparatively budget friendly option, it can work well!
