Very impressive flight. I'm still waiting impatiently for the M7 to be released here in Germany. I'm going to fly mine with the Spirit GT too, can you post your setup?

Thank you! I ended up reinstalling Rotorflight--not because there was anything wrong with Spirit, I just wanted to get more time on Rotorflight 2 RC1. Ideally I'd have one M7 on Spirit and one M7 on Rotorflight!
With the setup in the description and Spirit GT, I did not deviate far from defaults. I typically just raise the cyclic gain a few percent, increase piro consistency 10-15 points, and adjust style and feed forward until it feels right. I tend to do nearly the same things to every heli I've had on Spirit. It looks like I forgot to mention I was running the longer 37mm blade grip arms that come with the kit in this video. The 32mm ones work well too, I just wanted to try the longer ones and installed them at the same time as the Spirit GT.

Wow, great flight Robert! Looks like you've got the Spirit tuned pretty well. It's a great unit once you get the right combination of style and feed forward. However, I went "dark side" and bought a VBar Touch and have been setting helis up on it. It's stupidly easy, I can see why it's so popular. Pricey though. On another note, the video quality is superb. What's your setup?

Thank you! It's just an iPhone 13 Pro Max in 4k60 at 1x zoom with a head strap mount. I've used hat style before, but strap style seems to do much better since the phone can't wiggle around. Apple Watch has a remote camera app which I can use to help align it too.
Yeah it dialed in pretty quick! But I do have some previous experience with Spirit. Dima Vinar @REVOS5 posted that little troubleshooting table a while back on Facebook and it helped fill in some gaps since my last try. I've tried VBar a couple times now but it just doesn't click with me. But you're right, it's amazing how easy it is to open the box and set one up.

@@RobertBurrow87 Thanks for the camera tips! I've been using a 15 Pro recently with a magnet mount I printed up that connects to a head strap setup. It still tends to wobble a bit still, especially when I look up, but it doesn't show up in the results. Focus works OK if there are some clouds, but clear blue sky confuses the focus.
I'll have to go look for Dima's setup tips, because I plan to keep my Spirit GT units until I'm certain this VBar experiment is going to work out!

Can't remember exactly but it was most likely 1700, give or take 50.

Nice....how does it compare to Rotorflight?

I suspect Rotorflight can be tuned to feel similar to anything. The trick is understanding PIDs enough to do that :) There's probably less latency between moving the stick and the heli reacting with Rotorflight, but in the real world, I can't be sure. Spirit is very smooth (the way I have it tuned, anyway), but Rotorflight can be insanely responsive and crisp. I will likely just go back and forth, mainly using Rotorflight because I love the project and the people involved in it.
