I bought an SL1 back in 2001 or so. Still amazing to play today. I’ll never sell that one. Uber-versatile, beautiful finish, great sound and impeccable build quality.
THAT'S QUITE A BEAUTIFUL FRIENDSHIP THAT YOU GUYS HAVE BRO.....MUCH RESPECT FOR BOTH OF YOU HELPING EACH OTHER AQUIRE SUCH AWESOME INSTUMENTS FOR EACH OTHER BUDDY !!!! :)
I’m gonna get a quote from PRS to get that Desert Sandstorm face finish (even with headstock veneer) on a left handed PRS Singlecut!! Don’t suppose I can request the same builders lol! Thank you for the inspiration Phil and Nathan!!
Beautiful guitar! My first guitar is a black Jackson Dinky JS22 that I modified with Thornbucker pickups and push pull pots. Got some of the confidence to do it myself from watching this channel.
custom shop jackson is my dream guitar too. dont got that kinda scratch so i decided to wait almost a year for the hard tail pro series ash top in white. one day. eventually. cant wait for it to get here. im loving that pink on this
I see Nate post regularly on several FB group, always cool to see him in your vids, and happy he was able to hold onto a guitar with such a meaning to him (and such a cool guitar at that!)!
I had a 1986 Platinum Pink USA Soloist w/Kahler and 5-way switch. Got it from my friend who bought it new in Scottsdale in '86. Great guitar....even the Kahler. LOL
So I think Grumpy Mike once said he would never own a pink guitar...and Nathan is down to pay $4k for one LOL This is why I love the guitar community. There's so much variation across the collective and it's all entirely subjective. Great vid as always Phil!
Dude, I am literally working on that nearly identical (3hotrailSSS/std headstock/Indonesian version) of this exact guitar RIGHT NOW AS WE SPEAK!!! UNCANY. I had my auto parts store color match the pink for me, and I just finished installing the cavity covers and other tidbits that I painted body color… Give a mouse a cookie, he’s gonna ask for a glass of milk, so of course a little paint on a thing just turned into a near complete tear down and some Floyd upgrades, ya know…while you’re in there…Know Your GAS!
I miss the days of picking up a used Jackson USA on ebay for right around $1000. I once bought a Jackson Custom Shop KE-2R without any of the hardware for $600. I wish I still had it.
Funny, I began to salivate a little just looking at the guitar because it made me think of Pepto Bismal, which is what my mom gave me as a kid when I had stomach flu. lol Then I clicked "play" and he described the color as "pepto pink with a bit of sparkle finish". lol He's not just good at fret work, he also plays really well, too.
I don't hate the pink, I don't hate the HSS pickup configuration, I don't even hate the 3-way selector... However, I do hate the reverse headstock! LOL Thanks for sharing your new guitar with us!
Same here . Not into the upswept headstocks . You like what you like but but I would rather have it the other way . Wish I could get my dream guitar but impossible on my disability income
@@jerrywestaway9316 I hear ya on the dream guitar. Back in 2014 I picked up a 2013 LPJ for the sub $600 price tag - always wanted a Gibson Les Paul, and that is as close as I could afford (still have it). Now, you would be hard pressed to find any Les Paul, new or used, within $200 of that price! Oh, how the times change...
@@okayestguitar66 I can not even afford a $300 guitar . I am on a disability income . Always wanted a real Gibson etc., but never could swing it . Kind of funny , a guitar company will give one to a person that already has 50 guitars and it wealthy , but they won't do that to a poor person who never has the opportunity to get a real guitar / dream guitar .
Hey phil ive got bad gas lately my wifes been avoiding me but what are your thoughts between jackson dinky or soloists vs some of the higher end corts like x700 duality
Killer guitar though love the pink... love the charvel shirt too lol I have a charvel pro San dimas in metallic deep purple but my next guitar I want it to be a pink guitar.
As always Phil thank you for your videos Nathan comes out and over and under as a really humble man a nice guy and you can see how he wants to learn every aspect of his trade which is really a wonderful way to encompass all of the guitar and to fulfill I guess his wishes so thanks Phil and congratulations Nathan's PS can anyone tell me if it looks like a firebird or what like a firebird 3 I'm sorry like a firebird 7 being severely legally blind those things just escape me literally and the colors I have some pretty amazing guitars with what I think would be cool colors but can't see them on most of the guitars part of my disease also is color loss and color it's not color blind but like blues look red things like that when I can even see them I mean I have a beautiful hollabody gretch and orange thing I put it up to the window to look at it and I can tell it's orange but that's about as far as it goes and I'm sure people might not be all that interested in what I'm saying about my disease in relation to how I view my guitar I also own two gretches well of course the hollow body and also on a jet which is a custom color blue onyx which is a blue with a sparkle in it can't see the sparkle I can tell they have large inlays I can't see them at all we're on my Gibson's I see them fine go figure anyway thanks again Phil everyone stay out safe there and enjoy your guitar Nathan sincerely yours, Bob the blind bedroom guitarist
IF Nathan see's this could he thank LA and AM for make my new JACKSON Adrian Smith. It was perfect right out of the case. A few years ago I had a hard time getting a Demartini that didn't have a problem with the Nut being to high or finish flaws. So I just gave up on them for a time. But recently I decided to give them another shot and LA and AM made me a great guitar. So could you tell then Thank You. I look forward to getting another one soon.
I'm pretty sure it's a set neck because wasn't he working with the neck alone by itself? Besides that though usually they would always show the neck through because it's such a selling point or feature.
@@nathansongne9790 lol yeah my bad I was just wondering that was about to expunge the comment bcuz I seen another video they called it a neck through very similar to urs. Which I have a neck through Ibanez I just didn't think they would paint over it lol I apologize. I own a intermediate 800 dollar Jackson so I'm a fan of them too. It doesn't matter what it is you've got one hell of a guitar bro I love that pink. I do have one question I noticed only one inlay of the shark tooth on the 12th fret,, I seen that on the made in Japan one so is that like a custom guitar thing?
I bought an SL1 back in 2001 or so. Still amazing to play today. I’ll never sell that one. Uber-versatile, beautiful finish, great sound and impeccable build quality.

"Pepto pink with a little bit of sparkle in the topcoat, just a little bit " -Nathan the badass
"Neck and middle bridge" - Nathan the idiot. Lol
Man that Bound Ebony Fretboard is Amazing looking.
I bought an SL-1 back in 1986. Still my #1 guitar!
That's so amazing that he was able to own the guitar that he got attached to building in the Jackson custom shop.
Very special indeed and congrats to Nathan. Thank you both for sharing, btw that bridge sounded great !
Fantastic ! Loved the story too.
Congrats Nathan ! May you enjoy that gorgeous guitar for a long time in good health !
Lovely, I have a pink Jackson and its my favorite
Great guitar. Thank you. Beautiful
I have one of the USA select soloists in black. Love it! The gem of my collection.
custom shop jackson is my dream guitar too. dont got that kinda scratch so i decided to wait almost a year for the hard tail pro series ash top in white. one day. eventually.

Great friend to have, great guitar, great that you could help him have a piece of his own guitar-making history!
Congratulations Nathan!
What a killer story about Nathan and his guitar 👍👍👍!
Great video Phil, and cool shout out😉 at the end. Thanks🤘😎🤘.

That axe is right up my alley. Congrats brother!
It looks fun to play
Cool wiring layout. No noise in any position.
That is an absolutely gorgeous fiddle. Love the less severe angle of the reverse headstock a lot better than the usual reverse too. Awesome job 🤘🏼
Thanks Phil and congrats to you Nathan👍
Beautiful guitar, Great work....
The 80s kid in me loves it
Congrats on the new fiddle!
Literally my new dream guitar it's just absolutely rad!
Very cool! Congratulations Nathan!
Four minutes in and I haven't seen a nylon sock yet. :D
Maybe I'll take one of my mom's stockings and do it haha
So cool! Love we made this happen, thanks again bud :)
No thank YOU guys!
That is so awesome!! Congratulations to both of you!!
Well that was quick! I missed the live show. Cool guitar Nathan.
I have fell in love with that Pink guitar.
Cool color !
Well, I heard Pepto is good for GAS so...I guess this is just what the doctor ordered.
This is high comedy. Lol
Wonderful story! Thank you so much for sharing
Good on you Phil for helping Nathan get his dream guitar! You're the best. 👍😎
Killer guitar and a great way to return the favor !!
Very cool. Beautiful. Really like the all pickup sound too.
I just have an 80s MXZ in white that looks like it.
Awesome guitar! Congratulations Nathan!
Pink and purple are both awesome colors. Great looking guitar. Congrats at getting the dream guitar! ❤️🎸

so glad he got that guitar!
Not sure if the camera does a fair job of capturing that color.
Yeah, most of the non-traditional Fender/Gibson colors don't show up right on camera
I think the still photo at the beginning probably captured the color most vividly.
Guitar looks amazing ! I want a pink guitar now.
Awesome guitar, Nathan. You guys are both great dudes.
Am I tho?
The correct pickup switching answer is.... 3 MINI TOGGLES the way Grover and Mike Shannon did them in the '80's :)
I have a guitar for that, my PRS Employee Custom 24-08! Maybe I should let Phil do a video about that too....
Congrats Nathan, you deserve that guitar!
That thing is awesome. Makes me want a Jackson.
Pink Jackson reminds me of Jeff Beck. Awesome axe dude 🤘🤘
Cool guitar, congrats Nathan 👊🏻
Awesome job nathan 🤘🤘 awesome phill
Very cool guitar Nathan. Follow his IG and love his high speed feeds.
Killer guitar! Some awesome info about the Jackson CS too!
God I already have 4 Jackson’s and I need another now !!!!!
That looks so much like the reissue HM Strat. Minus the headstock, of course. And the 5 way switch
I love the color.
Beautiful! Nathan seems like a good guy. Happy for him. :)

Amazing guitar
Was that Decadence Dance by Extreme at 6:00? 🤘🏼
I just did my first a few weeks ago myself, feels great, but god damn it’s tedious work that’s for sure.
I love my Jackson and I love this video.
Glam metal deadly weapon!
Hss with a 3 way toggle is awesome.

is that the Phil Collen signature on that Jackson headstock?

Phil, what was the signal chain for this demo?
Awesome guitar
Mr Big is great. Congratulations Nathan, pink is the way to go!
I'd love it if you could review and compare that to to X series soloist SL3. I got an absinthe green one and it feels like custom shop level!
you and nate are such great friends to eachother.
This guitar is awesome. 😍👌
Where’s the Behringer pedal vid Phil?! 🤘🏻
Give and you shall receive.
Phil nails some Nuno!
pink and purple are the best guitar colors
Nathan is a great player!
That's a nice Jackson! Pepto Pink
4:07 that riff reminded me of a zz top song and a van halen song i THINK but I cant remember what either of them are . Haha. Nice playing
That is a Paul Gilbert riff from Daddy, brother, lover, little boy.

Anyone care to point to a schematic for this HSS 3 way toggle setup? I can't figure out how those combinations are done with a 3 way toggle.
Smoking guitar! Wow that is great tones. I bet you feel better after every time you play it.
That guitar sounds freakin sweet!! $4k is way too high for it to give me the GAS, but I really dig it.
That’s a badass guitar
sick guitar man!!!!!!!!
I have a pink Charvel that I really love a lot. I traded a PRS for it. Lol
Howd you mic this up?
Poorly. Lol. Room mic but the amp was on with the high gain channel selected. You're hearing the noise from that.
I just wish that PRS starts building again core line stoptail Custom 24s
Yeah me too. Especially with all the free publicity that Phil's guitar gave them! Haha
