My mother has cancer and she was telling me how worried she is about her hair growing back out after losing it all in chemo. She says she's never liked a short haircut, but then I mentioned Roman holiday and now she's excited!
If it falls out, it will grow back better then before - thicker and healthy. Mine didn't fall out despite aggresive chemo, which was waist length, stick straight red hair, but instead turned dark brown and wavy. I'm in my 50s and have zero grey, so it's worth losing the red! I hope your mom is doing well - I'm now cured from stage 4 colorectal cancer - it's all in the attitude! (if you know you'll beat it, you will and I was given 9 months to live 10 years ago).

This scene is funny, but also does some good things for the plot. First, it shows the princess thinking for herself and being decisive, breaking away from always being told what to do. Second, it introduces the hairdresser character (who will reappear) as well as describing the dance boat where a climactic scene will take place that night. And finally, it explains how the princess can go unrecognized during her day on the town, having adventures. I laugh at 1:40 when she looks in the mirror and suddenly has second thoughts and starts to get scared and uncertain, whereas, for the first time, the hairdresser instead sees the possibilities of what he can do with her newly-shortened hair and is no longer exasperated with what she's told him to do.
I was 7 years old when my mother took me and my sister to see Roman Holiday and never forget this scene. I felt in love with Audrey. Now I am 71 years old and she is my sweet heart ❤️🌹❤️
Hahahaha, the way in which Gregory Peck's character approached that girl and tried to borrow her camera would get him arrested these days. Creepy? Maybe just a lot.😬
@@MissCaraMint I just checked out your channel. I love your blond hair! I have usually preferred to keep my hair red, but within the past year I let my dark ash brown roots grow out, and apparently a lot of my hair is turning white.

This reminds me of a similar situation I've been through. 3years ago I had very long hair, it reached under my butt to the point I would sometimes sit on it if I wasn't careful. But I was tired of having it so long, it didn't curl well anymore, had lost all volume and vitality and basically I hated it, so I went to a hairdresser and asked her to cut my hair at the same level Audrey asked in this video and everyone in the salon started screaming. The scene took place in Algeria and there girls like to have long princess hair so they all thought I was out of my mind. Every woman (hairdressers AND clients) in the room tried to convince me not to cut that much because that was insane. So in the end I got the same haircut as Nancy Wheeler in the season 2 of Stranger things (slightly above the shoulders). But before the hairdresser could cut the tension was so epic, everyone was staring as if my name just got selected for the Hunger games, the hairdresser braided my hair, asked me about 10times if I was sure about this and had to breath several times before cutting, and when she cut the braid everyone gasped, she held the 50cm braid in her hands like Harry holding Dobby's corpse it was so dramatic it was almost ridiculous. She then put the braid in a bag for me to keep. After that she did my hair normally, I was glad I got my curls back but the whole salon looked traumatised for life lmao
I can't even get the hairdresser to cut short enough. My hair grows fast but I get a skin allergy if I have it long. I know it's not the style but I just don't want hair on my neck or my bangs in my eyes.

Audrey Hepburn has been big star all over the world but there’s a distinct difference in audience’s favourite Hepburn movie between the West and the East. While Breakfast at Tiffany’s was her signature movie in most Western countries (except maybe in Italy), Roman Holiday is *by far* the most beloved Hepburn movie in Asia, particularly in Japan. In fact her haircut in this movie was so phenomenally popular that it created a “Hepburn-cut” frenzy in the post-war Japan.
