I love how dungeon synth can just absorb any theme. One moment you're a vampire exploring catacombs, the next you're a dinosaur stomping through the marshlands haha.
Just discovered Wallachian Cobwebs like 30 minutes ago and I'm already finna buy their discography and force people to listen to this in my car. The Dungeon Synth artists on this page are all masters of worldbuilding and atmosphere. So glad there's a community for this because trying to trade music with people and being like "uhh yeah I've mostly been listening to like...fantasy ambient music lately?" has been wild lol.
I saw this and before I even clicked on it I was already pretty sure this was gonna be a great one to listen to. I was reading a book but put it away, closed my eyes and just lay down to be taken away by this.
This is one of the hidden gems of DSA I believe, probably the most exceptional: m.ruclips.net/video/wX1BG60yG2M/видео.html I still can't find anything like it. It like has a rare selection of sounds from various similar styles - dark ambient, neoclassical, darkwave and dungeon synth.
It's a shame I've never been able to get into Mortiis. Susurrus Inanis was my first revelation to these spectrum of genres, I found it through DSarchives too.
This was my first dungeon synth listen. Am blown away. Also have night sobbed a potion diseased by this artist. I've been going through this channels videos trying to find something like this but haven't come across it yet. That said, I DID find two other artists where I love their style. Tales under the oak (love that little frog) and nortfalke's "moonjeie". One question for those who know about this genre. Is there a reason they put these out on cassettes (and vinyl sometimes)? Why not cds? Great genre. Can't wait to dive in.
Part of the appeal is the retro sound. Dungeon Synth is intentionally low-fi. Also, buying vinyl and cassettes hits that nostalgia button for people, even if they weren't alive when these formats were prevalent.
“Uprising of the Green Skeletons” shares an uncanny resemblance to “Plodding Cynodonts” from the Diplodocus “dino-synth” album ‘Slow and Heavy.’ Were they by the same people?
Just saw that a vinyl version is available through Namazu Productions. Limited to 100 copies. Good thing too, this album deserves a physical release, so fucking good!!
Dude thank you so much, I was so bummed I did not hear of this artist in time to grab a cassette tape. Just ordered the LP. Paid 53 Euro...but its worth it.
@@cliffmcfarland75 no problem, glad you found out about it. It's a bit over the top how limited some of the Dungeon Synth tape releases are, a lot of people are missing out. I mean 200 copies for instance is still pretty limited too, right. Anyway glad you could grab a copy of this masterpiece, enjoy!
@@lt7114 thankyou so much i got it exactly at 1pm. Did the artist remake these cassettes like the first 25 he did that were wrapped in cobwebs and stuff, or was the label that made this set to sell?
@@TheCoIdDark thanks for the recommendation. I always loved Cantar de procella, hadn't heard this one. Indeed some similarities in style but by no means as dark sounding as Wallachian Cobwebs

I am from Romania and I can say that this music brings a lot of wild nights over there. The sound of the wolf's, the thunder..

Before the beginning of this year, I had never heard of Dungeon Synth. You have such sights to show me...

That intro was intense

Very good at building an eerie atmosphere, even after I've memorized the opening dialogue.
Ave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Easily one of the best and most mysterious dungeon synth albums I've heard. A true spirit of darkness.
this one here is a keeper...there are many great ones on this channel, but this one and some others are exceptional
