They sung pop music and ballads mostly curated for white audiences. They had a few R&B soul hits like this one and "Someday" but they were few and far between. That doesn't take away from it's significance.
I agree. It is fantastic for sure and when you examine it closely the tension and progression of the song is so masterful it is hard to think of other songs on the same level. When this was made Motown was a hit machine loaded with talented people who would collaborate and brainstorm to give each of their artists a hit and then another and another. If you had to get bogged down in committees and contracts and disbursements with everyone demanding a share of the credit and profits it never would have happened. Sure money was important but these people were jazzed and inspired by the seemingly endless success at the time.

I’ve been hooked on these ladies from a child. Out of all female artists these 3 always sizzle. Love child is my favorite but I love most of them. My dad had a purple double LP set he played on his console & I guess that is where it started. 1966 to present I still play them .

I’ve been hooked on these ladies from a child. Out of all female artists these 3 always sizzle. Love child is my favorite but I love most of them. My dad had a purple double LP set he played on his console & I guess that is where it started. 1966 to present I still play them .

Brilliantly sung and Orchestrated and Music Arrangement. Thank goodness we are now of a 'sensible' and 'rational age', where any Love Child is not at all considered in anyway different. Equality has stepped up, and the no nonsense approach in so many fields has no relevance. Race, Marriage, Class, Sexuality should always have been equal. How stupid and cruel not so long ago applied. Some Countries need to shake themselves up still, but well balanced , thinking Countries are leading the way and are a positive example.
