The juxtaposition of a song sung so beautifully about something so ugly. This is what gives me goosebumps.

It's a lullaby from the Philippines and although the lyrics are basically just sung by a babysitter to a child that refuses to go down for a nap while their mother has gone out to buy bread, the melody is spooky. The lullaby was used in a local horror movie and I think ever since, people have been spooked out by the song.

The song is meant to delve into the headspace of the abused child. I have known many domestic violence victims. Sometimes when you don't know any other love, you accept and expect even toxic love. It's so bad Sometimes when you extend a branch to them, they fear it as an attack. This is a hard song to listen to for me. I am not a victims of domestic violence but I have been too close to many that have.
@@wesleybarrett9502 Pearl Jam put out a song with a very similar theme in the 90s called "Rearview Mirror." Eddie was severely abused as a child/young man and I was going through the same thing (except I'm a girl) when they started putting out music.
