Yes. It can be done. Provided the pieces are clearly separated. Sometimes I've seen people struggle because the shapes merge with the slightest of overlaps. That's why I chose this method. Slightly tedious. But works without any hassle. Moreover, some viewers who have PowerPoint 2010 can also follow this method (since 2010 version doesn't have shape fragment option. I think, instead of doing "shape intersect" multiple times, you can just select the image and all the shapes then select "fragments".

The svg file is opening in a browser format and cannot be copy pasted in the ppt. How can I do that?
