Ahh I'm just about to do some practice. This will help! Thanks mate :)
Once again mate, great racing. Being an Aussie myself this is our premier track. A word of advice if I could. when conserving fuel, try short shifting through your gears on the way up. Don't let the engine rev out into the red. Again my friend well done. Enjoying your video's. And yes you need a taller gearing, should be hitting rev limiter just before braking into the Chase.
Well this is my favorite track of all time Dave,
You have done yourself proud. It is a challenging track, normally raced with weather changing at different parts of it elevation.
Well done, sounds like with a few alterations to gearing and suspension tweaks you will be up with the best!
Go you old fellow
Not only have I watched the whole video, I've watched every video all the way through, from the most recent, except the learn the track and oval races to now. You've got me through the lockdown! XD
Awesome race Dave. Loved how hard you were pushing!
Very nice, stuck it out till the end, entertaining to watch. 👍
Well done Dave, and thanks for the CSL DD video, good info
Fantastic race, Dave! Thanks so much for staying late to race Aussies up and down Mount Panorama!
Of course, I wouldn't miss a blink of an eye's worth of a race like that -- including the moment where, right after you asked us this question, a slightly belated downshift nearly caused a disastrous run-wide into a wall :).
And of course I'd like to see more of these races: these cars are fantastic to watch!
Cheers from Poland!
Thank you buddy 😁
Bathurst and a somewhat lively car is the perfect match! You're pretty quick around here! Great video as always 👍
Great stuff. I watched the whole one. I think that was one of your best performances over the last races!
Thank you Timo 😁
Great Race. Love to see more video's with these cars :-)
It’s un-Australian to drive a Holden after the way they screwed us over. We drive Kia’s or Hyundai only now :) good driving mate
except for the commodore ute, can't let holden ruin that for us
Actually the government fucked Holden and the Australian people, and they still haven't removed the foreign car tax that was implemented to help Aus car manufacturers.
@@jayson0987 your forgetting that noone bought the bloody things in the last 5 years...same for falcons....its SUV or a hatch......both decisions to shut down both holden and ford came from America!

Well done Dave - was here right up to the end.
Thank you Paddy 😁
Still here with three laps to go mate; it's fun hearing you as you talk through the race.
Thanks Jamie 😁
Good drive, mate. You had the ice skates on in those closing laps.
tyres are pretty good, bit dicey going upto sulman park, 3rd to 4th, I did a race here Wednesday night, had a huge lead so I took tyres
Great drive Dave right to the end
Suggest watching some Peter Brock replays was a legend of the Mt.
9 time Champion and in the days of multiclass racing. Seeing him in his Torana and later on Commodore passing Mini's and Mitsubishi Golf's down Conrod was always awesome. Also back then the Mountain WAS the track limit and not the barriers and the amount of cars that scraped the mountain and bits of dirt and rock coming off onto the track just made it more exciting.
Still here with 3 laps to go Dave! This car barely looks stable in a straight line, never mind over the mountain. Much more relaxing watching you wrestle it round than doing it myself 😅 Great driving as always 👍
Thank you Harry 😁
Pretty impressive Dave. Not bad at all.
For the Spec map there are a number of youtube Tutorials. I don't have iracing as yet but have been painting cars ready and to get that puma in silver he probably had the logo as white and a seperate layer and then copided that to the metallic layer again as a seperate layer and had red at 100% and green at 0% just for that layer.
When you do the spec maps, if you want a paint colour, whether it be a stripe on the side on the bonnet/hood being a different texture, make sure they are sperate layers in the spec map folder in Photoshop or GIMP when you paint the cars.
I managed to stay the distance Dave - good drive and a podium too. Two things: 1. I initially thought the hollow thuds and bangs emanating from your car on the bumpy sections were down to poor Vauxhall build quality but now I’m not so sure. 2. How do you get away with spending an hour and a half “on that computer “ without interference from Mrs C? The only way I could watch this vid was to do the ironing at the same time! I notice too that we’ve never seen your wife when you’ve driven at Bathurst. I conclude therefore that you have improved the balance of your supercar by putting your wife in the boot! This is a bad thing! You really need to lash her down otherwise those weight transfers will unsettle the back end and you could spin off. Oh, wait a minute....
Hahaha, brilliant 😂
I am not sure about how thing's are in the UK but this is NOT a Vauvhall even though they were both GM, Holden build quality was really good while they were still operating. The bumps and thuds are due to the car being so heavy and even with the extra seats removed and the interior hollowed out for racing purposes, that is what is causing it all.
Try doing a search for supercars races around Bathurst from in car and you will notice how sparce the car is even though it still weighs 1400kg
Those textures on the loading screen look amazing 😂
The trick to saving fuel at bathurst is short shift and more short shifting accross the top of the mountain and conrod and coast through the chase.
well done Dave great driving
almost pulled a Craig Lowndes and ran out of fuel
Watched all the way to the flag. These cars are challenging. Great drive
Thank you 😁
Just started watching, and damn can you drive man. Tho I've yet to find a video where you actually qualify and get a good starting position lol Would love to see it, I definitely think you can win of course :p
I truly miss you driving V8 Supercars. Just love these things :( in case you don't know what race to join next 😘
Hello Dave. suggestion for v8 super cars. At starting lights brake on full shift to 1st. At red lights floor the gas (while still holding the brakes on). At Green release brake and leave your foot on the gas.
Thanks for that. I tried something similar in practice and the car just wanted to lurch forward
Thats gotta be the most beautyfull track in the world
I made it to the end, good race, shame about the jump! 😂👍🏼
Thank you 😁
Aussie! Aussie! Aussieeeee!!!
I don’t know if you do, but you can set the torsion bars in car to change the behaviour if the tires are dropping.
But a stunning race Dave!, I didn’t survive lap 10, oh and I know what you said at lap 30 😉
Haha, thank you buddy 😁
I have watched a couple of your videos lately and I need to say that I love how you display the tracks cam in the top right, I like looking at that when you are racing close. I wonder if could have considered adding some where on the screen your current position? the old eyes aren't what they once were and stuffed if I can see it on the screen currently lol
I wish I could but I don't have bay way of doing that ☹️
Dave, I have a video idea for you. No one says about brake gamma/ breake strenght. Since last tire model update I struggled a lot with grip especially during braking and trail braking. My gamma was at 1.9 (g27 pedals). I droped it to 1.6 and it was a game changer for me. Suddenly I could trailbrake like I did before the update. Since brake gamma is an option that most rookies and even experienced drivers don't touch nor understand, I think it is a good idea to make a video about it.
I'd love to see you take on Phillip Island in the Porsche. (Or on a bike🤣)
01:05:04 still watching, mate ;) can't wait to see were you ending up
01:14:20 well deserved place on the PODIUM \o/ - great performance dave!
but now I have to care about dinner - pasta!
Hey thank you 😁
Another Great Vid Dave! 👏 Love watching your line choice and apex acceleration point choice. Do you ever find yourself 2 foot driving in real life? I will every now and then on the highway, and I drive a SUV lol. 😂
I've tried it and nearly put myself through the windscreen 😂
i love mt pano..... such a great track
29:39 *great driving* dave, did not deserve a 4x for that.
Yeah, that was some weird net-code. The guy Dave hit looked like he just rolled back a tiny bit which caused us to run into his overhanging rear-wing. Can't blame Dave for it as there was nowhere else to go. Right side of the accident looked too narrow to fit through, and you don't want to come to a stop there and add to the roadblock.
The Incident system is horse shit in these Situations.
You gotta have a 4x when you're in the land of Aus :)
@@studlydudly 🤣
I really hope Supercars are coming soon to AI races

Great race.. Still here 3 to go :)
Thank you 😁
Since, some of the hotfixes I haven't seen the supercars want to roll over like they did at first. Thankfully
Hey Dave, Gamermuscle had an Aussie day once so I gave him a little Aussie flack which he probably didn't understand. You have to be in an Aussie pub (front bar) to hear that stuff. Haha, he wouldn't talk to me.
Yep..whit 3 laps to go we still here🙋👍👍
Thank you 😁
Absolutely MUST take tyres. They're good for 22-23 laps, at which point the car becomes LITERALLY undriveable. As a V8SCOPS driver my tip is tyre conservation is an absolute must for the first stint and try to stretch it out as much as possible. However, if you find traffic an issue, undercuts are very strong in this series too. I would also like to know how the hell you didn't blow the engine running that gear set?! LOL!!
Haha. Every day's a school day. I just loaded the setup without testing first 😂
@@davecamm an insider tip, the Bathurst base line for the new models was done by one of the best (if not the best) iRacing V8 Supercar Sim Racers there is. It's not half bad?
47 degrees Celsius here today in the real life Australia, hope it’s not too chilly in the U.K!
It's a nice 5c here today 😁
2.05 is not bad considering the lap record was set this year 2019 at 2.03 and jenson button hold the outright record of 1.48 in the mclaren F1

Hi Dave. I enjoy your racing and comments. Keep up the good work.!! Just a couple of questions -1. what setups do you use and -2 what fuel calculator ? Thanks .
Hey Wayne. I use a variety of setups from Virtual Racing School, Pure Driving School, Craig's Setup Shop and team setups. I use Kapps as a fuel calculator which is usually on a monitor which you can't see 👍
Great race Dave. I stuck in there all the way through. Gonna join iracing over Xmas as having a computer built and finally leaving the Xbox.
Hey Daren thanks buddy 😁
Didn't see online, but tonight I watched the full race. Subscribed you yesterday and, until now, I'm watching your races to kill sometime at work 😉
still here dave good race
Legend 💪
The beauty of long races: You don't have to have the fastest lap times, but if they're very similar between each other you have great results overall 🔥.
Dumb question alert: Why do you have to blip when downshifting in these cars? I'm worried that I should do this in the GT3s i race (i play only ACC). Do I get my laptimes better by doing this? Should I be doing this?
Thank you so much for the awesome content once again 🙏🏻
Been watching your videos for a while now - great job! As an aside; how do you bring up the incidents that you review at the end of your videos?
Hey bud. It's ctrl numpad 3 for the next incident and ctrl numpad 1 previous 👍

Yep, im a DieHard DC !
The studdering seems to be something with IRacing. I get it too and my hardware is more than sufficient. Still here with 3 laps to go.
Me too at longer tracks
I stayed the whole race Dave.
Legend 😁
Caution, your brake pedal is being a bit activated on straights (1-5%)
God i hope supercars take off in America...so fun
yeah i made it to the end :)
I love to watch race on this track, but i hate to drive it. I just cant show a good time and not hit a wall or spin on the top of the mountain...
“That guy knows how to start”
*2 sec later*
Massive impact lol
The guy was not really at fault though
Very odd, sound is ok on android and PC, but no sound on the Mac. Gunna check the GLW's iPhone tomorrow.
So a Fords not Aussie? How about that Vauxhall Insignia you are driving? Lol! Also, I made it through the whole race! Enjoyable as ever Dave!!
I know I know. Holden just seems more Aussie than Ford 😁
A slightly taller gear would help in those long top speed streaghts
Really good race man, very enjoyable. As for the stutters and freezes, a couple of my streaming friends using OBS have been having the same issue in other games (CoD and Siege)... No frame drops but they keep getting freezes. They are both on Nvidia cards as well so maybe it's to do with a recent update? I think there was a recent update... Could be the cause.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll have a closer look into it possibly being OBS 👍
@@davecamm If you've done any recent graphics card update maybe wind it back to an older version, see if that solves anything. If not it's easy to restore to the latest version
@@MattinhoGG Yes, quite recently, bit it did it before that which prompted the chance. I'll try and roll back a couple
Bathurst boy me born and bred .. still here 3klms from track
Is it as awesome in real life?
@@davecamm yer but all is much steeper in real life the games just cant get the pitch right when you drop into the dipper the passenger side front wheel has to cock up in the air so your on three wheels exiting also the cutting is really steep . there is no track in the world like it . I take the wifes XR 6 for a quick lap now and again
Dave, I noticed on Lap 2. When you hit the inside curb and go onto 2 wheels, your screen freezes and locks up with a repeating sound. I have had this issues with iRacing for the past couple days. But it happens for WAY longer and more frequently. Ive been trying to figure out what is causing this issue and have had no luck. It has ruined two of my Oval races. It happens In Practice sessions and in Races. Im scared to even run any Offical Races in Fear of ruining other peoples races because of it. If you or Anybody else on here have any Ideas as to what is causing this and maybe how to fix it. It would be very helpful. Thank you and keep up the great racing and content. Cheers!
I'll try and roll back the drivers and see if that solves it 👍
Let's blame that spin on the tire model you said was new to you!
That really changed the game for you there :(
Could have pitted at the end? Crossed the line in the pit.
"What other car would you drive at Bathurst"
If you've got any sense- The Ford ;)
I see the slides that you catch all the time on your DD, I don't think I could catch them with my Thrustmaster T500 at all, probably be in a full slide b4 I'd know it was there..
Yes, I think I'd have lost a few before the dd
I was here with 3 laps left. But after the first three laps I thought you would not.
Thank you 😁
IRacing should throw in a random Kangaroo up the cutting.👌🏼
Still here.....3 to go!!
Thank you 😁
I think I’d needa piss before races end...
Drive hard
What are those overlays you are running at the top left and bottom right of the screens ?
Hey bud. It's called Kapps 👍
Dave Cam thanks!!
Car looks loose mid corner, I couldn't see if you were using them but don't forget you can adjust the arb's in car to trim it up as the tyre performance goes away. And yes, 3 lap to go gang checking in.
Hey thanks bud. Which way should they be adjusted?
@@davecamm for the oversteer you were getting I'd soften the rear, so if the rear was on say 5, I'd bring it down to 3 or 4 and keep going until it behaves. If that wasn't enough you can move the front to a higher number also.
@@andrewrogers1652 Brilliant, thanks for that 👍
Still here, 3 laps to go, but question.... Why don't you let crew chief calculate fuel? I rarely have an issue with crew chief not calculating proper amounts. Curious on your thoughts.
Hey thank you. 😁
I just haven't configured the voice part of crew chief, unless there is a way of doing it with a button?
@@davecamm Dave, I just run it "as-is" and it automatically configures fuel calc. Look under properties in the app window and it should be ticked, if not, enable. No voice required. LMK if it worked for you!
@@Piedmont57 thanks for that. I'll take a look 👍

Good consistent race Dave and yes...I hung in there til the end ;-)
I was expecting you to be getting washed out in the last 2 left turns right before the peak several times especially with the degrading tires.

Press the brake and the throttle at the same time for the best start, car just walks away when you let off the brake. So easy a child could do it... Thanks iRacing.
Also ZB isn't Australian either...
Plebtile they are all built as tube frame chassis here, technically more australian than any other car ever built
@@mitchR32 The ZB? Or the frames Supercars makes and gives to the teams?
Plebtile supercars has design limits and teams build chassis to that spec, the rest is panels from Opel, but technically australian made.
Mainly pulling the piss for the bogans that think these cars are made in Victoria still and have a roll cage bolted in
@@mitchR32 Isn't every panel on the cars composite now? Not sure you'll find any kevlar panels on a ZB.
Plebtile yeah pretty much, basically the badge and lights are original parts
Attitude and sportsmanship is better when everybody appears with their full name. It's not the same when you see users like "somename3723lol" and it's a random dude you'll never see again. Is this all across iRacing? I'm based in Assetto Corsa, just curious.
Just watched the whole race pity this isn’t on PS4. If you didn’t change your tyres you would be doing 2:20s no coincidence your fastest lap was on fresh tyres.
18:22 - Ford...that's not Australian...
I'll give you the tip Dave - that car you're driving is no more Aussie than the Ford. It's actually a fully imported Opal - rebadged as a Commodore. And their days are numbered because virtually no one bought them.
Enjoying the videos mate. Keep it up!
Yep... Commodore *is toast* for 2020... It will be interesting to see which manufactuters Supercars includes for 2021 and beyond...
Sadly, as far as I can see, the format will have to change, or they will have to incentivise other manufacturers to sign up, which will mean a change to the engine specs..
Supercars could go with the Camaro as Walkinshaw is re-engineering them for the aussie market. But there still needs to be a change in format to allow other manufacturers to participate. It's so close to NASCAR these days it's not funny. Bringing it back to improved production needs to happen.
Be Yourself, is that because they're not building them in Oz any more? Therefore, if you're going to get an imported car anyway, you might as well get a Toyota?
@@OgamiItto70 Holden will not even sell Commodore (Opel Omega) in Australia from 2020. They haven't been built here since 2017.

Not a big fan of the IRacing limiter... not particularly realistic (for a sim).
What do you mean? The real car has an RPM limiter, if he was using the correct gear ratio for Bathurst he wouldn't have been hitting it so early.
@@Ashleylear not that Supercars don't have a limiter, that the hard cut cycles extermely slowly in iRacing, one cycle every couple of seconds. Supercars hard cut cycles 10+ times each second.
Fair enough, I can agree the sound of the hard cut could be done better.
Are those physics just awful or is it the helmet cam hes using?
Hablar menos. Sonido motor más fuerte... Más visitas. Más pasión.
I think the biggest mistake that you keep making... is looking at something other than the racing screen. if you would focus you would probably win. And I don't understand why getting tires with a bad idea? you could barely control the car... especially with your lack of focus.
I don't run that series so I've no idea if anyone else would take tyres.
What else am I looking at?
You're constantly almost every time you turn the wheel straight... you're looking to the left. every other time you're looking up or to the right. if I had to guess.. I would say there's four or five screens around you. I can't speak for other people but I can tell you I don't watch your channel to hear you talk. although I do like to hear about breaking points and late apexes and stuff like that. I do learn from that but I would bet money if you could focus for a whole race and not take your eyes off the screen and every time instead of looking away... if you would envision the next turn and the series of turns you would probably win. I don't play iRacing so I can't speak for iRacing but I do play Gran Turismo and one of my biggest problems is I'm always looking at my time and the more I look... the worse it gets. if I just focus I set record laps and I get super consistent.
