I'm from Argentina and is really cool to be able to learn from another man at the other side of the world. Thanks for sharing your ideas and work. As many others, this is a really cool project!
Great project. Thank you for taking the time to share this with all of us. I've watched long enough to recognize the cool technique you used for the spring loaded magnet. I always thought previously that your video on making the adjustable measuring sticks was the best ever. I was wrong. This combines the previous idea with another idea (the mag). Wow. You are the best!!!
I used to collect swords when I lived in Germany. My son loves that and has collected knives since he was 7 in cubscouts. He's now going on 14 and has quite the collection. I am going to recommend this as a scout project to the troop. Great work.
+Atomic Robo Tesla No, watch again and you see he is using his other hand to turn the screwdriver when it doesn't lift up. You can also clearly see that it's a simple, solid screwdriver, not one of the kinds you suggest. Lastly, the sound you hear doesn't actually sound like one of those ratcheting screwdrivers, and it isn't in sync with the video. Conclusion, he did add the sound, probably for comic effect.
Bravo! Nice work...I think that would make a nice gift or conversational piece. I'll be ordering my magnets and get started on making a few. Nice idea with the spring loaded clamp.
What a great design! I've been asked to make a knife display for a friend, and I'm planning to have it plunged through a bent wood circle. But this is so cool, I'm tempted to change and do it instead!
An amazing idea. Adding a case frame for it would make this a wonderful idea for Knife displays; Maybe even adding a small LED lamp on the base to illuminate it as well.
Jack: Super. At one point I thought it was the magic of Christmas, which had been able to levitate the knife. A hug. Have Happy Holidays, with their loved ones.
In fact is a very clever system, really amazing, your creations ever surprise me! congratulations and by the way, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for you and everybody.
+Deadwolf Thanks for the heads up. I just did a bit of research and found a great video from SciShow explaining that magnetic force is part of electromagnetic force (a fundamental force). Also included in electromagnetic force is electrostatic force. Pretty interesting stuff, I didn't realise there were multiple aspects of electromagnetism.
This guy is so safe, he doesn't even have his hands in the same frame with the saw :D
Very nice :)
+muh1h1 If you notice his hands it looks like he has arthritis...I doubt he could safely use his hands anymore.
TACO OCAT He seams to handle it very well :)
+muh1h1 5:00
Safety rule #1: grab the blade
+muh1h1 So he is un-handy with a saw
humudu well, if it is not that sharp, i see no problem with that.
As a knife collector and joiner, you've made a very happy man today, thank you, it's excellent.

+Pahuana Your english is very good, Che, Saludos.....
Both of you are pretty good at english chabones
Absolute genius, Jack. I love your simplicity in thinking. To many people try to complicate thing and they look and function as an over done piece.
I really like the springload tip -- I might have to work that into a project! Awesome build, Jack!
excellent. I appreciate the noticeable patience taken on the build and the high regard for safety.
That is one of the coolest things I have seen you make Jack!
You've earned a subscriber. Clear instructions, good safety and great attitude. There aren't many people like you around these days.

I love the added sounds and the video, good job!
Looks so cool. Nice work jack
Excellent, I really enjoy watching you build your projects.
This dude added in screw driver noises at 1:58
Or maybe it was designed in a way that makes noise? If you pay attention you'll notice he never lifts the screwdriver, use tat hint to figure it out.
+Atomic Robo Tesla No, watch again and you see he is using his other hand to turn the screwdriver when it doesn't lift up. Trevor Lambert Not quite sure how it'd be funny but ok.
It's pretty obvious that it was added in. That's just a normal screwdriver, and the sound is looping.
the noise sounds more like dragging a screwdriver over a file or rasp. yeah, definitely not a ratcheting screw driver tho.
I was already amazed with the version without the spring, so simple and genious
1:00 Jack is really a very safe woodworking guy. Knife holder is awesome too. Thumbs up
Great idea! Anything with magnets (especially hidden) is usually amazing.
Bravo! Nice work...I think that would make a nice gift or conversational piece. I'll be ordering my magnets and get started on making a few. Nice idea with the spring loaded clamp.

The force (specifically electromagnetic) is strong with this one
the force is strong with this one!
You're wrong m8. There are no electromagnets used.
