The melee attack is so much higher I think that it should be the go to when fighting. Ranged is only better for certain situations
kt attack is higher than ca too, yet people play both units

Total damage output/minute is significantly higher with ranged form unless you are absolutely on top of a mass of enemy units.
It also allows you to stay out of trouble easily. Pikes, TC, tower or castle fire, that kinda stuff.
The best way to engage in a big fight is with a mixture of strong melee with ranged units behind. Not either melee or ranged.

Watch tournaments eventually have to script gold spawns to be away from woodlines to prevent the castle from protecting your entire eco. That's the biggest issue with this build, going naked zero army has near zero penalty because even if you go archers to hit them (they'd quick wall wood/gold) the castle is up in a similar time window making the archer investment pointless.
Be funny if nothing changes and the default is just both players going phosphru strat and cancelling each other out, due to a lack of controllable counters. A horrible map is basically the best counter against the strat.

Does the strategy work for regular CA? I think Huns, Magyars, Tatars, Japanese could do the same with their CA. They have mobility and high attack unlike Raw-th.
you need the castle to protect the gold+wood income. So making wood+gold unit from the castle and snowball is the key to this strat

Phosphoru has all-in strats for many civs. Sicilians, Bengalis, Koreans, Portuguese, Hinudstanis, Malians, Romans ... even a tier list for that

@@mubashirulmoula1798 You need market to click up to castle as fast as possible. Walling is bad, because you don't need to protect anything after you get the castle.

What do you think about doing the phosphoru with bulgarians? That way you would not need a castle for the unique unit but could do it with a krepost or do two kreposts?
Konniks require food, leaving your base sprawling with silly farms and open to raids. The UU is to be fed on gold and wood only!

F1Re's response was not the correct reaction. If he bought his way up to castle then did a mango/monk play it would have had significantly better results.
This will destroy the current meta so bad...
Yesterday i played against this for the first time and its just so boring... I really hope there will be an easy counter to this soon, otherwise the ladder wont be any fun for a long time...
I like strategies that completly ignore the meta, it's nice having something different once in a while. Let's see if someone figures out a counter strategy. I wouldn't be surprised if Hera or Viper himself have some ideas... 🤔🙂
Hera said you basically have to scout their base to make sure it’s coming, then doing FC yourself and get monks. You could make extra TC and monk hop to defend, then win relic/eco game.
If you explore early, you can play very agressive on feudal age. Problem with F1re was he push when Viper had all for make castle. I guess you can block wood and gold with towers and delay for allow you up without lose.

It's a bit of a compilation of the strat. I don't think I've seen the game against Lewis but I watched Hera's cast of the game against F1re and Viper's vid of the intro game when he was teal.

What is the idea of this strat? Is it about the UU or the free vils? cuz Bengalies dont have great eco that i know of
All in with UU. You don't need vils because you don't need food, that's why the castle goes on wood and gold. And it's not about bengalis, this strat works the same with a lot of civs.
Pick a civ with unique unit that spends gold and wood. Go fast castle, and then you focus all vills on wood and gold and pump out the unique unit. You will outproduce the enemy because you focus everything on only 2 resources.
Viper is wrong with his focus on Bengalis andvills, the strat would be even stronger if he didn't make so many vills in castle age. Notice how he doesn't have resources for bodkin because he keeps wasting food on making vills.
Why no one calls this Glass Cannon strat?
Cause the castle makes it hard to do damage against you. So it’s not really very glass like.

If u try to call starcratf brood war players to play aoe2 u will see insane new builds for sure. New builds, counter plays, timeing attacks. Pls try to do some collaboration with some sc1 players. Win win situation.
