      He already did it in competition. It was an official WUS event. It's on their website. And he was held to standard Strongman rules, while Eddie wasn't. I'm tired of this argument. Thor's lift was more official than Eddie's. Thor was set to standard rest time. Eddie had infinite. Thor didn't choose the platform. Eddie did. Thor didn't choose the bar. Eddie did. Thor didn't choose the weight inclines. Eddie did.
      So Thor's lift was more official. That's why Eddie's event made Brian Shaw not even want to compete and why Pritchett tore his hamstring because he went cold due to Eddie's 28 minute rest time (standard max is 15 minutes).

    • @MoralesCorner
      @MoralesCorner 10 месяцев назад +3

      @@TheStraightestWhitesti agree with everything you just said but the first part. It was not a competition regardless of it being sanctioned and conducted as a competition lift. You know there's a lot of factors going into performing in the heat of competition versus lifting alone in your own gym. Still there was a reason why he did it being that the whole world was locked down, plus I think he would have pulled that record in a competition set up too. Thor was a mutant by the end of that prep

    • @nephos100
      @nephos100 10 месяцев назад +3

      @@TheStraightestWhitest Good points. My view is that each lift by Eddie and Thor was legitimate. Each lifted in different circumstances, but each pulled their half ton off the floor successfully. If Eddie was given privileges on the day, I suppose it has to be forgiven. Just as Thor's lift was under conditions that are forgivable. I don't know the exact rules for which a lift is sanctioned as being acceptable, but from now on all lifts should be strictly governed so that such controversies are less likely. It is my estimation that Thor is coming back now in order to attempt something in excess of 501kg and to do it under proper conditions to confirm his place of supremacy.

(From my pre-injury max) But I believe that the rests at me final set has help from plateauing. I have increase my 5x5s, 5-10 a week for 8 weeks now. Form has been excellent. I would try it for 6 weeks and decide for yourself. It will add about 10-20 minutes tops. Depends on how many working sets your programmed.

    Hafthor you should read a book on mental management. Since there’s a lot of the mental game to powerlifting, with winning in mind is a good book

      @@baconfromhell666 Ok, if that were the case, why did Hfthor decide to break the deadlift record in 2020? If you state the goal is win not to have records?
      Bare in mind that the deadlift record that Thor did in 2020 was not in competition.

    Great insights into training at this level. You realize that when powerlifters & strongman say they’re in the gym for 3 hours a day, 2 of those hours are just them resting so even they are in the gym actually training for about an hour.
