When enabling power saving mode, it still makes a sound when pressing the button once accidentally. It always beeps out of my full pocket, that's annoying.
@@matzn1they definitely made it a lot thinner plastic, the smarttag 1 it required more effort to press it (I got mine to start screaming at me when I had it constantly pressed in my pocket for too long)
They released an update recantly that fixed the copy and paste code they used from the smarttag+ to the 2 (had the same crashing bug where it would play the startup sound) they could do with fixing the location reporting (phone side issue) as it sometime late reports the tag location when I am driving away (says the tag is 150meters away when it's still at home sometimes)
@@joshfpvv I should say i haven't heard any of my smarttag 2's rebooting any more (the update seems to have fixed that) seem to operate same as smarttag 1 now smarttag+ just did it 2 hours ago right next to me (as they never released a update to fix the crashing issue it has) This isn't the same as the anti stalker sounder and tracking id (when your phone hasn't been near your associated tag for more then couple of hours sounder and tracking id is enabled) a 555 power chip or alike to power cycle the airtag and smarttag every 1 hour should prevent automatic follow alerts from poping up on other peoples phones (and stop the sounder if speaker isn't disabled)
The issue would be getting the tape there. It could be done, but you would need to use some sort of hard thin plastic or paper and slide it between the contacts from the battery compartment.
@@rayj1988 I think I found something: in the following video, the person indeed puts some tape over the connection points: ruclips.net/video/BCerOPCBNFo/видео.html
@ggurbet like I mentioned to you before. How are you going to put the tape on? If you pull the tag apart that is more destructive than my method. You would then need to glue the tag together, and it would not seal as good as from the factory.
i want to cut that ring to make the tag as small as possible from what i can see thers no antenna on it or any other components and thats good thanks for the video
I followed the video, broke the wires (I think - hard to tell), but must have damaged something else in there around the 2 wires because it won't seem to power on anymore. Tried resetting it. A few weeks old so it's not the battery. Can't tell what the problem is because there's no sound to help me out. Just letting everyone know to be cautious. Wish Samsung just made it easier to disable the sound through software like the previous model.
Im not sure I made a wallet size tag from it and threw the rest out. It would have been just over half the standard size in length so considerably smaller.
Actually yes it does, the owners phone has to be away for some hours and a unknown phone needs to be in range pinging it (it's hardly noticeable vs an airtag that jingles 3 times) smarttag and airtag have anti stalker feature (other band of tags should as well)
Thank you!!! I just bought me some because my car got stolen and i had lojack which they disabled. Im hoping to use 2 of them on my next car and hide them behind the dashboard.
HOW DO YOU OPEN IT UP AFTER THE BATTERY IS OUT???? Useless vid. For those trying to do this, go checkout the other vids where the uploader does it with a knife with the tag intact.
As he stated in the video, he is demonstrating on a disassembled version, so that you can see what he is cutting. He states that you make the cut through the battery slot.
Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you. So much easier, I just did 4 of them in 10 mins.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for destroying yours so I didn't have to destroy mine
Not a problem! I was pulling mine apart anyway to make a wallet version.
Does power saving mode disable it for making noise?
No@@z06cam31

Easy and quick to do, Thank You for the video.
Glad the video has been helpful.
Game changer. Mine always beeped in weird situations, making it kinda embarrassing. Thank you;)

Uh nice much more eas then before 👍 thank you 🤗
Appreciate it! Took me 30 seconds to break the wire.
I think you can just put a small tape to the top of the wires, blocking the connection. Can you try this non-destructive method?
The issue would be getting the tape there. It could be done, but you would need to use some sort of hard thin plastic or paper and slide it between the contacts from the battery compartment.
@@rayj1988 I think just a small sellotape on top of the contact points would suffice.
@ggurbet how would you put the tape there is my question without pulling the tag apart?

hey, what are the dimensions of the galaxy tag after cutting off the metal ring?
Im not sure I made a wallet size tag from it and threw the rest out. It would have been just over half the standard size in length so considerably smaller.
Does the Smarttag2 beep every so often when separated from its connected phone like the AirTag does?

thx bruh
How can i disable the sound when you click on the button?
This should do it
Thanks
Puedes desactivar el sonido desde la app
Thank you! Mine was starting to be so annoying that I took it off my keys.
Means thief just need to punch that tiny hole to remove the power source?
If thieves found it. The tag becomes useless either ways
Hello, I tried to remove the speaker after watching the video, but the lid won't open
What lid?
Cover that must be opened for the first time when disassembling
I'm sorry. I'm not good at English, so I'm using a translator, so it may be hard for you to understand
@user-he2zo6ke5q This video shows how to disable sound without dissembling. Just remove the battery and use something sharp to cut the speaker wire!

YOUR COMMENT IS STUPID!!! You obviously don't understand simple instructions! You don't need to open it up to disable the sound.
