- Islamorada Humps Fishing | Slow Pitch Jigging | The Best Slow Pitch Jig of All Time | Johnny Jigs
Chris and myself (Johnny) headed to Islamorada in the Florida Keys for a day of slow pitch jigging. This is one of my favorite places in the world. I have fished the keys since I was a kid and still feel like there is so mush I have yet to learn and explore. We left the house around 5 a.m. and hit the water by 7. Our first spot was the Islamorada Humps. Our plan was to drop some slow pitch jigs on the humps and then push out deeper for some exploratory drops. We landed tunas, grouper, jacks, and a strange creature from the deep. Also we are excited to introduce you to our newest jig the One Drop. Please check out the links below for the gear we used and the New One Drop.

Moon doesn't matter when you only have a little time to go fishing. Go fishing as often as you can. Some days are better than others that's it.
You got that right.
Love your videos! I see your lures in my NC tackle shops! Whoop! I buy one every time, don’t need one but I do it to support you and your awesome team! Everyone buy one! Or two, or three or …..!!!! Support the JJ team!
Thank you so very much Scott. It is so cool that we are in stores in NC. I still can't believe it.
That ribbon fish was cool. Thanks for sharing your new jigs.
Thanks May...

@@JohnnyJigsTV bro got my 1st ever black grouper 25lbs on the 300g red torpedo. Thanks for all the tips and knowledge
Heck yeah dude!!!
That ribbon fish is very unusual. Definitely not the typical species we catch.
For me, either
I've caught a hell of alot of fish on full moons. Some species better than others.
Yup, I'm with you on that. I read so many articles online that totally contradict each other. Who knows??
That ribbon fish was cool!
Dope video!! Miss y’all!!
Salty Lo...My dog...You too brother
Long time supporter, love the look of the new jig!

Hey guys been watching these bluefin in SD the week before the full moon is the time to hit the water!!!
Yes!! We are coming back to SD in May. Can't wait.
@@JohnnyJigsTV when what boat? Are there spots left?
We will be on the Pacific Queen May 23-25
Cool videos guys. Looking forward to the one drop. Curious why you hand crank with the electric? Is it better on the motor the hand crank with a fish on?
Thanks Doug, We reel up manually for a couple reasons. It is bit more sensitive when the fish fights back. You are less likely to pull a hook. The second is that electric reel screaming sounds terrible on film 🎥
Wahoooo good
Time to start eating shark again!
Looked like a oar fish they catch in Australia. Def not a ribbonfish but amazing
Definitely not a ribbon. It does resemble a Oarfish but is actually a Channel Scabbardfish. Thanks Brandon
Nice job. Great looking bait and I've never heard or seen another caught. I just caught a mola mola on the sword gear few weeks ago. Another first I've heard of down here in south florida
A toy mahi lmao. Chromed out 😂
Use ur jigs to catch my PB cobia off Jacksonville.
Love hearing it. Cobia bite has been hot lately.
Great video ! What type of boat are you running. Is it aluminum? I can hear a metallic sort of sound.
Thank you. It is a fiberglass 278 Dusky Tournament Edition
You sure that was a ribbonfish? The ribbons I've seen have bigger mouths / teeth and a different shaped tail.
Hey Jordan, it was actually a Channel Scabbardfish. Many people mistake it for a ribbon fish or an oarfish. Us included. Thanks for commenting
What is battery pack set uo and electric reel set up
Awesome video I’m pedro I’m 11 years old just got one question I’m in the north east and I want to get in the micro jigging we have party boats like down there so if you can give me some pointers I got the rod and reel just asking if you can give me some pointer awesome videos love your jigs perfect model jigs great stuff
Hi Pedro, If you are jigging head boats at 11 then your already doing great. As for pointers, Stay consistent with the jigging. The more time you spend with a micro jig in the water, the more fish you will catch. And with that you will start to gain confidence in what you are doing. There is no wrong or right way as long as you're having fun on the water. Tight lines..Johnny
@@JohnnyJigsTV thanks for the tips will use them on our next trip.
What line and size line you guys use for deep drop!
Hi Saltwater_sabine, We generally will scale our line down to 20 or 15# test. The thinner diameter helps to cut through the water for deeper drops.
Thank you for responding! Love your videos
Which Rod and Reel are you guys using?

My theory is that they can see better at night on a full moon so they eat all night and aren’t as hungry during the day.
That is a good theory. 👍 So next time we fish all day and night 🌙 😜
Stop throwing back good eating fishes please
Yes sir,..never again I promise 🤞
