  • Islamorada Humps Fishing | Slow Pitch Jigging | The Best Slow Pitch Jig of All Time | Johnny Jigs
    Chris and myself (Johnny) headed to Islamorada in the Florida Keys for a day of slow pitch jigging. This is one of my favorite places in the world. I have fished the keys since I was a kid and still feel like there is so mush I have yet to learn and explore. We left the house around 5 a.m. and hit the water by 7. Our first spot was the Islamorada Humps. Our plan was to drop some slow pitch jigs on the humps and then push out deeper for some exploratory drops. We landed tunas, grouper, jacks, and a strange creature from the deep. Also we are excited to introduce you to our newest jig the One Drop. Please check out the links below for the gear we used and the New One Drop.

    Moon doesn't matter when you only have a little time to go fishing. Go fishing as often as you can. Some days are better than others that's it.

    Cool videos guys. Looking forward to the one drop. Curious why you hand crank with the electric? Is it better on the motor the hand crank with a fish on?

    • @JohnnyJigsTV
      @JohnnyJigsTV  Год назад +2

      Thanks Doug, We reel up manually for a couple reasons. It is bit more sensitive when the fish fights back. You are less likely to pull a hook. The second is that electric reel screaming sounds terrible on film 🎥

      Hey Jordan, it was actually a Channel Scabbardfish. Many people mistake it for a ribbon fish or an oarfish. Us included. Thanks for commenting

    Awesome video I’m pedro I’m 11 years old just got one question I’m in the north east and I want to get in the micro jigging we have party boats like down there so if you can give me some pointers I got the rod and reel just asking if you can give me some pointer awesome videos love your jigs perfect model jigs great stuff

    • @JohnnyJigsTV
      @JohnnyJigsTV  Год назад +1

      Hi Pedro, If you are jigging head boats at 11 then your already doing great. As for pointers, Stay consistent with the jigging. The more time you spend with a micro jig in the water, the more fish you will catch. And with that you will start to gain confidence in what you are doing. There is no wrong or right way as long as you're having fun on the water. Tight lines..Johnny

    What line and size line you guys use for deep drop!

    • @JohnnyJigsTV
      @JohnnyJigsTV  Год назад +1

      Hi Saltwater_sabine, We generally will scale our line down to 20 or 15# test. The thinner diameter helps to cut through the water for deeper drops.
