With the float technique, instead of hooping your fabric you only hoop the stabilizer, then use a temporary adhesive to tack down the fabric onto the stabilizer. I have not really used this technique since my main focus is patches.
My name is Doris I just purchased the Brother Duette machine.I am wondering how old the machine is.It is in good shape.I had a brother machine that was 20 years old and wanted to update .I like the automatic threading.I am and old lady and don’t wasn’t to buy a new machine because I can’t afford one with the good updates on machine
I have personally owned my machine for almost 2 years. I originally purchased it used from EBay. The automatic threader is nice but could cause thread breaks and jams because of the extra components. If I’d do it again I’d buy one with the regular thread lever.
I just purchased a used Duretta and have used the sewing feature but am having trouble with the embroidery feature. I follow the directions from the manual but don't know what gets the design started sewing. I am missing something somewhere. Your video was very helpful but I just need to see that red button turn green!
Hey Sharon, the light turns green once the design is set and the foot is down. The design is set and ready to stitch after the display screen shows the embroidery time and color order. If you don't see this screen then there might be some final options you must select/set first.
@@PATCHBOYDARB thanks for the quick reply. I think I found my problem. I had the foot down but I also had the needle down. When I raised the needle the last time I tried after watching your video the light turned green and was finally ready to embroidery.
Hi Patch Boy, I also have a 4500d ? do you ever sew on your Duetta. If so do you leave the embroidery arm on if so I have a hack for you using the Kleen Seam it's a gap filler you can find it at Walmart. You cut it to size and put it in arm track, now you sew without getting threads in that slot.
I don’t typically sew on the Duetta, I use my SE625 for that, butI have sewn on it before. I’d like to see the method you have, do you have a tutorial?
Hoping these videos will motivate me to brush off the dust off my machine.
Getting motivated to be creative can be difficult at this. I’d say to come up with a project and go from there.
Thank you- I learn something with every video I watch!
Jean Sanders Thank you for watching! I try to make these videos as easy to follow as I can. This machine has so many features to learn about.
Great step by step explanation! Thank you and keep up with the video tutorials. I am learned a lot from you!
