Wow, I just found this. Insomnia and growing up in the 80's for the win. Some musicians, when they cover a song, don't really bring anything new to it. Call me pretentious, but this is one of those covers where I feel the band makes the song their own. Funny thing is, I'm not otherwise all that into STG - I've listened to quite a few of their songs and they don't grab me. ah well. This made my (sleepless) morning better. Thanks for uploading.
@stef982 One reason why you might be hearing an "S" sound at the end of Stripped is partially due to the pixelation of the sound. The other reason is because a breath is taken in after the word Stripped, so the hissing "S" is Chad (the male singer of STG) taking a breath for the next batch of words. (Yeah linguistics class!)
The song does belong to Depeche Mode. I generally do not like DM covers but this is an exception. Shiny Toy Guns did an amazing job, and it sounds absolutely beautiful. Kudos.
This has to be my favorite version of the song, next to the original. Im a long time fa of Depeche Mode, hence the name-but Shiny Toy Guns rocked this song! This song is very much so on par with the original song. I love them both
