#5 Portillo's Chocolate Cake Shake. The Chocolate Cake Shake is a staple at this Chicago area chain. Portillo's bakes their rich chocolate cakes fresh on sight and load them up with a rich fudge chocolate frosting. The recipe to this famous chocolate cake shake is easy. Vanilla ice cream, a big fat slice of chocolate cake frosting and all, and a bit of chocolate syrup. These ingredients are given a quick blend and served. The best part of this delicious shake is the little bits of cake pieces that get sucked up through the straw.

You are starting to be the food expert during road trips channel. Portillo’s is the best!!! I love their chocolate cake!!! When I was a kid, I got Polaski Day off because of the Polish population. I’m not ready for that snow. Now I know where the Brownie was invented, never knew!!! I worked a block away from Garretts when I worked in the City. Melissa’s favorite is the Rainbow Cone!!! You must have had some hyped up kids.

All the schools in the state of Illinois used to get off for Pulaski Day (we did!). I don’t think that’s the case now: it’s an optional state holiday for schools

@@DoodletheTravelBug Because they are made @ the Portillo's factory they are allowed to say they make them "on site", meaning they are not outsourced from another company. So, the statement is considered true. 😉👍
