Norwegian Getaway - Club Balcony Stateroom Tour! Is a Club Balcony Stateroom worth it?
We really appreciate the opportunity sail with @norwegiancruiseline on the Norwegian Getaway holiday sailing! This was our first time sailing with NCL, and the crew and staff were very welcoming over the holidays.
Watch this episode for a full tour of the Club Class Balcony stateroom on the Norwegian Cruise Line ship, the Getaway. The Club Suite used to be called a 'mini-suite' . . . and it is a good sized balcony stateroom. We did NOT book the Spa Club Balcony stateroom . . which will be essentially the same balcony style cabin, however with Spa privileges that we knew we wouldn't be using on our five-night sailing on the Getaway.
We'll be posting additional episodes to show you more of the ship - the public spaces, the food venues and a look around the ship - the next episodes are coming soon.

We are on the NCL Breakaway, but the room looks the same. I watched several videos about this stateroom class, and this was by far the most informative. I didn't even know about the ottoman, LOL. You are awesome!
Thanks for the feedback and I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos. The stateroom on the NCL Getaway was great - glad you're enjoying your cruise on the Breakaway! They are the same "Class" of ship from NCL, so a lot of the layout and features between the two ships will be the same . . . or very similar. Sometimes they'll update the color palette, or they'll adapt some of the common areas to make them even more up-to-date than a ship they launched a few years ago. Enjoy the Breakaway!!
I just subscribed, as was watching your excellent cruise tips packing videos, and see your now on the Getaway. Kismet . We just booked on the Getaway for this year. We don't have the club room with larger washroom etc., but do have the extended balcony stateroom with loungers. Very looking forward to any and all you have to say about the Getaway itself, or unpacking in your stateroom, idk anything helpful . ( is only my second cruise ( 1st Celebrity Eclipse)) Thank you so much for posting these very informative vlogs. So well done. Have a great cruise!!
Thank you, Pamela! I hope you enjoy your upcoming NCL Getaway cruise. We found extra storage in the multi-purpose chair at the desk - ottoman style, that had a removable hard surface to use it as a small table .. or it could be used as a seat and then top of the seat was removable so the inside of the cube gave us extra storage. In our Club Balcony stateroom there were several hooks inside the door . . .and we always bring our own magnetic hooks - all excellent for additional storage. What I didn't care for was the style of the hangars in the closet, as I note in this video. That was sort of annoying as we couldn't hang extra items outside of the closet.

I just don't see much difference from a regular balcony stateroom. I know it's supposed to be a tad bigger but but rather lack luster for the extra cost. Is there a benefit I'm seeing other than double sinks?
I agree, there didn't seem to be a big difference with the balcony stateroom. Yes, the bathroom was larger. I think the other feature can be the location of these club balcony staterooms, which could be appealing to some cruisers.
Do mini suites get free room service??
At the time I'm answering your question (always subject to change by the cruise line!) - NCL charges $9.95 for room service other than morning coffee & continental breakfast. Even a 'full' or cooked food breakfast gets the delivery charge. If anyone has experienced anything other than this, please post a comment and let us all know the latest!

It looks like they may offer complimentary room service for morning coffee and a continental breakfast (please double check with the cruise line before you order to be sure!), however they charge later in the day. An exception is that guests in Suite staterooms in NCL's The Haven section of the ships are not charged for room service convenience fees,

can you bring a laptop and HDMI wire to hook up and watch your own movies on their tv's?? that's a deal breaker for me. i'm not interested in the programming on cruise Tvs. i like to bring my own. without an HDMI connection on the Tv you can't use your laptop to watch all your own downloaded owned movies/shows.
Great question, and I'm not sure of the answer. It may depend on which ship you're on and what TV set they have in the staterooms! We find that we don't have a lot of time in the stateroom, there is so much else to see & do. So unfortunately, I haven't tried to link my devices to a cruise stateroom TV. Great question to check with your cruise line.

Yes, I just got off the Getaway and was in an Oceanview room and the continental breakfast is still free!! No hot items, but plenty of enjoyable items with hot coffee and tea.
not to be rude or anything but I've seen this on other video as well all the time. They call rooms different than what's on the cruise ship website. I'm always curious if they are the same kind of room, Example on your video you call it a "Club Balcony Stateroom" but on Norwegian's website it's called "Club Balcony Suite". Why do video's do this ?? just curious. I always try to match Cruise ships websites with Vacations cruise site to compare prices and I usually cant match of the names for the rooms.
In the case of NCL, there was a point in time they changed the name of those particular staterooms. They used to be called mini-suites. The stateroom in that video is in practical terms a balcony stateroom- with a larger bathroom than some other balcony staterooms. It’s not in the Haven, their exclusive suite area. Beyond that, there’s the possibility that the videos try to put into conversational language what are sometimes long exact names with lots of subcategories/slight variations. It may vary if/when the deck plans on line are adjusted, too.

Hi Susan - thanks for watching! The club balcony stateroom is a little larger than a regular balcony room . . and if I remember the other staterooms correctly this has a somewhat larger bathroom. It was very comfortable and in a good location on the ship!

Yes this one has a double sink, which the other balcony rooms may not.

Well aside from the winds and sea current delays and missing our arrival time at Port Canaveral which pushed our KSC excursion to the next morning and canceled our Great Stirrup Cay visit and even slowed us down enough to cancel the Norfolk stop and the Getaway arrived almost an hour late to New York the cruise was an onboard dream with the staff being some of the best I had in 5 cruises so far with 2 more booked! Cagney's Steakhouse was exceptional with Jenna as our waitress and at Moderno's with Rick the Marine "Semper Fi" as our waiter you couldn't ask for better! Tried the buffet one day for breakfast and went to the eggs to order for a simple ham and cheese omelet and the cook put 3 eggs in the pan and then added the ham to it then started to stir it! Well that was not like any omelet I had ever had before! It might as well have been a fried egg slightly stirred! Egg whites with swirls of yoke and ham! Yuck! I got the manager and told him what happened and he tried to make it right! Better, but still patches of yoke in a sea of egg white! I told him all it needs is a separate pot of premixed whole eggs or use an immersion blender in a pot of eggs for scrambled eggs or omelets! The best omelets I get are at Waffle House with a milk shake blender! The Free continental breakfast is still available and we had the Priority Access pkg so we could add hot breakfast items to the Continental breakfast as long as we wrote Priority Access on the request sheet! Kennedy Space Center was awesome, but be prepared to stand for most exhibits! The rough Seas had the ship rocking a little, but nothing that would get me sick! My brother used the patches and wristbands and didn't get sick either! At least the Getaway didn't run aground!

@Barry Weaver yeah I only tried breakfast there one day and they didn't know how to scramble the eggs before making an omelet!
