Hi Brenda! It’s always fun to see what you’ve been working on and the more frequent videos is just fine with me! I look forward to hearing about your plans for stitching during the Olympics.
Thank You Jackie! I just uploaded that video. So excited for Olympics stitching!!
Thank you for a great update Brenda. Your stitching is beautiful.
Thank You Susan!
I finally broke and ordered kingdom of books. We lived in the Netherlands and I live reading - seems like a perfectly good reason to add another kit to my collection
I totally agree! How could you live in the Netherlands, and love reading, and not own that pattern!!! LOL.
The book is amazing!!! Great job! It looks so beautiful!
Thank You :)
Es un placer ver tus bordados, son preciosos. Gracias por tú tiempo. Un beso desde España 😘
Thank You Luz!
Thank you, Brenda, for another great flosstube! Awesome, awesome projects! God bless!

Hi Brenda, I just love your Kingdom of Book stitch…it’s amazing! I see you have your SamSarah perpetual calendar behind you, I have all the pieces and parts to complete it, I am so sad that they retired since there were so many of their patterns I wanted, but I am so happy for them. Congratulations on your retirement…you’ll love it! Thanks for sharing your stitching with us, everything is beautiful! Terri Whisler
Thank You Teri! So glad you have the calendar charts, that one was so fun to stitch.
Your stitching is utterly fantastic! I am going to stitch the Gnome Olympics also! Happy stitching!
Yay! I am going to start mine tonight I think, since I am watching the soccer and rugby opening matches today :)
Brenda such lovely work. I’m so happy about your retirement. 🌺🌷❤️💕

I have to do the hobbit house. I am reading these books to my youngest son now. I have read the books since I was 16 about every year. Congratulations on retirement. It was nice to see you again as always.
Yep, it sounds like that is a must-do pattern for you! How fun to read them to your son :)
i always love your videos and your cross stitch projects so much. thank you always for sharing everything with us and for beeing such a beautiful flosstuber, sending much love from Switzerland❤️🇨🇭
Thank You Alexandra!
Congrats on retiring!!!!!!!
Thank You Kim!
Summer is rolling along so fast! I am loving the progress you are making on your wips. I'm doing Christmas 🎄 in July and a challenge for Tour de France in a FB group. I don't know what I'll be doing for the Olympics yet. Love the Sunflower on 46 ct. Your wall is beautiful with the pieces you've put up. Happy stitching!❤
Thank You Judy! Your plans sound so fun!!! I think I am going to do Tour de France challenge next year :)
So glad you are enjoying your retirement! It's really fun watching your stitching progress quicker now. Kingdom of books is absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to see it complete at the end of the year. I went to check out the halloween stitch along and their website was down so I'll check again tomorrow. I love good halloween stitching any time of year! It was funny that you mentioned. You're stitching wall behind you as I was going to leave a comment and ask if you could go over what is hanging there as I really enjoyed the last one you did and got some great pattern inspiration.
Thank You Stacey! So glad you like the Halloween SAL as well :) I have been enjoying it :)
Your stitches are absolutely fabulous! I love seeing your enthusiasm for your retirement and all your stitches yet to come! Living your best life! I've been retired since 2020 and adore the independence and all the stitchy goodness that comes with it! Enjoy!
Thank You Susan! I am so glad you are loving retirement :)
The kingdom books colors are amazing! ❤ I started this years ago (enabled by you I am sure!😂) but somehow got myself caught in thinking it was complicated when I started the first book. I think I will chart the book names to be books that have meant something to me over the years.
Thank You!!! I think that is a great idea!!! Isn't is crazy how we overthink things sometimes and make it hard to work on? That has happened to me as well.
So excited I found you!
Thank You, and welcome!
Hi Brenda! Happy retirement!❤❤🎉🎉
Thank You Louann!
I just got caught up on Bird Houses! I also ordered floss for Matter in Hand, I already had the pattern. ❤
Yay Beth! I need to get caught up, lol :)
Brenda, your projects are amazing! Great update! 😊
Thank You :)
Always great to see what you are stitching 😊

It's great to see you more often. Your older videos were so helpful to me when I began to cross stitch and I have continued to enjoy seeing all you manage to do. Have FUN!
Thank You Karen! I am so glad they were helpful :)

Здравствуйте! У вас очень красивые работы! Вышивки на стене просто потрясающие! Приятно увидеть российского производителя ❤
Hi Brenda! Kingdom of books is looking fabulous! Enjoy your retirement stitching 💜
Thank You Lidia!!!
I am LOVING those books!!! So clever how you are not doing that 'unattractive' background around the edges of the books. And that Halloween Sampler....too pretty! ALL things books and SCARY🧛♂ 🎃👻Halloween is perfectly me! lol.
Richard
Thank You Richard! Halloween is not far away, grin!!!
Great to see you WIP just beautiful. Your kingdom of Books is inspiring, yet it just go on to stitch list. It is beautiful! Loved the sunflowers too! Happy Retirement! You may be busier than ever but have fun. Looking forward to hearing your news and Olympics

What a joy to see you so happy and enjoying retirement!! As I was watching and stitching the Crosseyed Cricket Summer…I saw it behind you and got so excited! Your books are so amazing and I love so many of your choices! I’ve got many of the house charts, but only am almost finished with the Santa one and a little on the beautiful barn! Soo look forward to seeing you more often! Hope you have a fabulous summer!!💕
Thank You Susan!!
Brenda, Felicitaciones! Todo es súper. Maravillada de tu talento . Abrazo desde Ibague, Tolima, Colombia. ❤
Hi Claudia! Wow, Columbia! Thank You :)
Your WIPs are amazing! Every time I watch, I see something else I want to add to my collection. I've been wanting to get the Fabulous Houses collection for awhile. Maybe I'll start collecting them. I can't wait until the Olympics. I will also be starting Les Olympiades des Gnomes. I like the idea of stitching the medals won. My time is limited though so maybe I'll combine it with my Olympic SAL and do stitches per medal instead of minutes. Can't wait to hear what your Olympic plans are.
Thank You! So glad you will be stitching the Gnome Olympics as well!! I think your plan sounds fabulous!
Congratulations on your retirement! Going to Stitchcon must've been the perfect way to start. I am captivated by your Books stitch piece. The colors are so rich and they give so much dimension. I just stare every time you show it. Love to see all of your projects and progress on each one.😊
Thank You LaLani! That piece is fun to see grow :)
Brenda - you may be watching/listening to the Olympics, BUT you are the Cross Stitch Olympics! Have fun before hand and looking forward to seeing your cheeriness in a couple of weeks.
Laughing, thank you Marcia! I am going to tell my husband that, lol.
Thank you Brenda! You made my day. I got to see your beautiful work close and for a long time. I think my favorite of all yours is the Netherlands Books. It is so colorful and bright!
Thank You! I'm glad I remembered to hold them up long enough :)
Stop everything I'm doing to watch Brenda!!!!❤❤❤
LOL!! Thank You Karen :)
Thank you for the video. Now that you are retired, you can help me see all of the pieces I want to stitch someday. It is good I have self-control, 😊or I would never get any cross stitch done because I would be buying all of what you have done. I sure love your taste in projects. Thanks for sharing.
LOL, I feel the same way when I watch Flosstube! Thank You :)
Hi Brenda. I love your enthusiasm when u show your projects. Sounds like you started your retirement with a bang. Thanks for sharing.
Thank You! And yes, I think I did, lol!
Eeek! You’ve gotten SOOOO much stitching done!! How fun! Love seeing all of your pretties!! Take care1
Thank You Lisa!!!!! Sending a hug your way :)
Great to see you so soon with your lovely projects.
Thank You Lynn!
Isn't it great to not ever have to go to work ever again? Oh, I'm there with you girl. I love love love it. It's like standing at the entrance of an amusement park and all the rides are free.
Best description ever!!!!!
@@Handworkmaniac I got it from Stephen King. I can't take credit for it. LOL! Enjoy that permanent vacation, Lady!
So glad to see you had another video posted. You got quite a bit of stitching done! I am stitching on the birdhouse SAL as I watch. I'm actually keeping up with it. It's hard to believe there are only 2 birdhouses left after this month! Keep enjoying your summer and Bear Lake.
Thank You Christy! Yes, I was thinking the same thing, only two more houses! Congrats on keeping up!
Oh yay, it *is* possible to put all the Houses on one fabric, and all of yours look lovely!! That's going to be my new year's start for 2025 😊
Yay! Sounds like a great plan!
Thanks Brenda! So fun to catch up with you. You do amazing. Somedays I feel like it takes me 30 min just to get started lol - I’m impressed with your discipline. I can’t seem to put down a project to go to bed even. 😂
LOL, I know what you mean! My husband argues with me sometimes about whether it is bedtime or not :)
Hi Brenda! Love, love, love all the projects! I loved the Halloween SAL, and ordered it immediately. Today is Sunday and it starts tomorrow, but I will only be a few days late getting started. I am excited! Thank you for all the inspiration, I love watching you and I talk to you like you are in the room! LOL!🥰
Thank You!!! So glad you like it too! And yes, a few days late is easy to catch up on :) And I love that you talk to me like I am there, I do that too when I watch Flosstube :)
I hope you are having a wonderful summer, your stitching is beautiful and I love all of your needle minders.
Thank You Lisa! I do seem to have quite a collection of needleminders, lol. But I love them all!!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful stitching. Congratulations on your retirement.
Thank You Linda!
Oh, Brenda, the Kingdom of books is absolutely stunning!
Thank You!!
I love that Kingdom of Books and all of the bee patterns! Looking forward to your finish of the books.
Thank You Debra!!
Hi Brenda. Thank you for the video. It's great to see you so relaxed and happy! You've done so much stitching! ⚘️
Thank You Margaret!
If it's not too late, on the Hobbit house, add a sign that says "Party Business Only", if you can fit it in.
LOL, that is a great idea!!!!!
Just love watching your progress on the book picture!
Thank You Diane!
Such fun projects!
Thank You Pam!
You inspired this librarian to start Kingdom of Books about 1.5 years ago. Mine is on 32 ct Heritage Linen, 1 over 1. Now that I see yours, I am regretting using only 1 strand. C’est la Vie.
I am sure yours is just stunning! And what a wonderful piece for a librarian :)
Congratulations on your retirement! I highly recommend it….❤ Thanks for an update video! Lori
Thank You Lori! So glad you are enjoying retirement as well :)
Your kingdom of books is amazing Brenda- such beautiful colors! just love all your pieces
Thank You Diane!!!
Brenda, retirement is special fun and we need to keep busy! Enjoyed your projects and excitement for the Olympics! Can't wait to see your selections!
Thank You Kathe! And yes, we need to keep busy! :)
Your book piece is gorgeous! I also love the river piece you are doing for the frame your dad made. That Olympic piece is so adorable!
Thank You Jennie!
I have that Summer piece hanging in my front hall. I have also finished Spring, Autumn, Winter and Christmas. Easter is in the queue. I am ready for every season!!
Yay! I bet they are just lovely :)
I love Kingdom of Books! All your work is beautiful.
Thank You!
Yay, you're back. ❤
Thank You Kelly, glad someone is happy to see me :)
So great to see you my friend! I can tell you are loving retirement. Kingdom of books looks amazing! For the Halloween Sampler, maybe you could just put a star to the left of the H? I’m glad you’re doing the Historical Sampler SAL, because I was strong and didn’t order it - and now I can live vicariously through your stitching! Thanks for sharing your stitching and be well!
LOL, you are cracking me up! So glad you were strong and didn't order it, lol! Great idea for the Halloween sampler!
Thank you for your video. Your Kingdom of books is looking so good! I can see the end! I really like that Letistitch piece. I had a comedy of errors getting my Jardin Prive piece. I didn't know if the place I bought it from ships by Post Office, or UPS. I didn't want UPS to leave it at my front door if that was the shipper, so I had it sent to my work. Found out later it was shipped by the Post office, but they tried when we were closed. It went back to a different facility and just sat there. The tracking kept saying for a week that it was at the facility, but it wasn't moving. A week later I got a notice that they were returning it because the address didn't exist. Shipper made a mistake on the address, they reversed the numbers. About 2 hours later our awesome mailman walked in with it. He knew I was expecting a package and grabbed it. Somehow it went to the right facility finally, but their tracking said it was returned to the shipper. Anyway, I am alll kitted up and ready to go! Take care and happy stitching!
wow, what a story! So glad you finally got it!!!! And what a great mailman!!!
Wow! You are keeping up with your sals great! Glad to see you are enjoying retirement! Do you recommend any good videos on parking when stitching a full coverage? There are several out there but thought maybe you had a favorite one! See you next time!
Hi Dee! I don't have a favorite parking video, but I know there are so many good ones out there.
Здравствуйте. Кака приятно видеть на Вашем канале русские наборы. Успехов в крестиках.
Thank You Maria!
Hello fellow retiree…I am actually on vacation…first time in decades that I am not teaching summer school. What do you do with the Aida cloth you don’t use? I am fortunate that my daughter stitches 14 count and does not mind it being stiff. I will be joining you for Olympic fun Brenda. Thank you for being you.🦉🧵🏖️
Thank You!!!! And I am soooooooo happy you are enjoying a summer without summer school!!!!!!!!!! Woooohooo! I keep the aida fabric I don't use from kits to use for other projects. Or sometimes I share it with my daughters and daughter-in-law. And my granddaughter is learning to stitch :) Yay for the Olympics!!!! So glad you will be joining me in the fun :)
👍👍👍👍👍👍
I love your kingdom of knowledge project… it’s beautiful
I just bought that chart - at tips?!!
Also can you send me the names of the books?!! It’s OK if they are in Dutch … my boyfriend is Dutch and can translate.
I love that piece!!!
Love your FlossTubes
Thank You Julianne! I would be happy to share the names of the books. Just send me an email at AdnerbYakJ@gmail.com and I will send it to you :) How cool that your boyfriend is Dutch!!
💜💜💜
Thank You Kay!
So good to see you back, as always!!! I have all four of the Seasons by the Sea with all the thread packs as well!! Do you want to do assignment stitching with me? Or a SAL? My only problem is that they are all in my Florida house and I won’t be there until November 1st! Let me know your thoughts. Thank you for another great flosstube!
Hi Becky! Yes, we should definitely do a SAL/assignment!!!!!!!!!!! I can totally wait until November to start, maybe we could start with the Winter one :) Let me know what you think. You can email me at AdnerbYakJ@gmail.com or DM me on Instagram :)
Just wanted to let you know that you are a bad influence 🤣 Because of some of the great videos you’ve shared I decided that I needed to make the leap and try scroll frames - I went with Artisan as you recommended and because I absolutely love the Elan stand I’ve had for 3-4 years. Now I am debating the floor stand based on your review and also because they are semi-retiring and won’t be offering floor stands after this month. I’ve never really even wanted a floor stand but “what if?!?” Lol! Also considering ordering some spare parts and probably more frames (once I see if I even like the deluxe set and extra side bars I just bought…) because once they fully retire I worry I will need something. Thanks for the help! Sweet Summertime looks great, I’m going to be popping mine in a frame this week, along with some cute finishing pieces from Paisley & Polka Dots, and finally start on Watermelon Crawl - the backstitches on SS really do make the piece! Happy Stitching 😊
Thank You Erica! So sorry I am such a bad influence, lol!!!! And I know what you mean, what if???? :)
😍 👏👏👏👏
Thank You Linda!
I love your hobbit house, but where is the brass door knob in the center? Love your projects, and looking forward to your "wall video."
Thank You Julie! I know!!! I am contemplating sewing a gold bead to the middle of the door when it is all done :)
@@Handworkmaniac That would be perfect, Bilbo would approve the shine!
Brenda thanks for sharing your projects!❤Do you have a plan each day on what & how long you stitch? I am trying to come up with one but so far not been successful 😂! Have a great 2 wks.
Hi Barbara! I do make plans, but usually only loosely follow them. I try really hard to keep up with my monthly goals, but my weekly goals and plans quite often get changed, lol! I keep trying different things to see what I like and what works best for me :)
When you do a half cross on a piece that is mostly full crosses, which direction do you make that single stitch? Is it done like a normal lower stitch or do you copy the direction of the top thread in a full cross?
Hello! I have done it both ways and like it fine either way. Most people say you should do it the same as the top thread in the full crosses, so they all match :)
In flosstube #129 you showed your Four Seasons project, which had 3 bobbins with a bunch of threads attached. Or that’s what it looked like to me. What is the purpose of stitching like that and what is it called? Thanks.
Hello! That is called the "parking method". You choose a color and stitch all the stitches that are that color in a certain area and then you "park" the thread in the next place it will be used. When you are done filling in the first area, you move to the next area and pick up each "parked thread" and continue stitching with them one at a time. I only use that method when I am stitching a complicated full coverage piece with 87 different colors, such as Heaven and Earth Designs pieces. If you search RUclips for "cross stitch parking method" you will find many different videos that explain it.
@@Handworkmaniac Thank you! Now that I know what it’s called I’ll look for videos on it.
Hello!
Hello!
Your work is so beautiful. I was wondering how do you see the holes on the fabric that is 46 count? I having trouble with 36 count. I have only gotten to do a project on 28 count and thats a wip because I cant work on it but so long. Just wondering how you do it?
Thank You! I have contacts that correct my vision to 20/20. I am 59 so I have one contact that sees near and one contact that sees far. So I don't need reading glasses to read. But I do use reading glasses when I am stitching for magnification. I use 3.5 reading glasses when stitching to magnify the stitches. If I take my contacts out and am wearing glasses instead, then I have to wear the reading glasses on top of my regular glasses to see the stitching. I hope that made sense :)
@@Handworkmaniac it made perfect sense. Thanks for answering.
Hello, Friend!!!!
Hi Rae!!!!!
How many hours or days does it take to stitch half a book?
Wow, that is a good question. I would guess it takes me about 8-12 hours total to stitch half a book.
@@Handworkmaniac thank you
