I’ve always wanted a weatherby in 257. Ammo today is to hard to come by for me to invest in one this late in the game. Economy failing hyperinflation growing the one world system coming and Christ return eminent. I’ll keep shooting my 270wsm and 30-06 and 25-06. Not enough time left to justify buying one. But man I would love to have one. It’s My dream gun.
Their always the vanguard.which is a nice rifle in its own right and like always weatherby builds to please even the vanguard has many options standard calibers or weatherby.the 257 how's with a 24 inch barrel has similar ballistics to the mark v with 26 inch barrel about 50 fps more for the mark v
It’s hard to believe that it’s been 5 years since getting my .257 Weatherby! I should do a follow up video and show you all of the success she’s seen in the field. And a bit of an “upgrade” she got!
That's one beautiful rifle. I got a ballistic chart that listed many of the deer size cartridges and gave the maximum point blank range for each caliber. I liked to go over the info and pick which caliber I felt would make the ultimate deer caliber and rifle. I picked the 257 Weatherby because the max point blank range you could sight your scope in with the bullet not rising nor dropping over 2 " was nearly 400 yards.
wow beautiful rifle, would love to own one but maybe in matte finish, way too expensive and unavailable here in Canada,I have a Vanguard 257 back country, love it and the caliber
Weatherby has upped the level of beauty on the stocks of the more recently produced Mark V deluxes...yet yours is still exceptional to many I've seen. It looks as much like high end artwork as it does a gun. I would buy a composite stock to swap out for hunting trips so as not to destroy that gorgeous piece of furniture you have on that rifle. The one Weatherby uses for their weathermark would be a drop in perfect fit. I think the company that makes them for Weatherby is called AP(or AG?) Precision(or performance?). They cost about 650 bucks, but are super high quality and you can have it finished in just about any color you want. Or, just give Weatherby a call and see if they will sell you one for less since I'm sure they get a huge discount for buying in bulk. I Just bought a Mark V Deluxe in .243 and it should arrive by the end of Nov....then plan on ordering a custom shop 7mm Wby Mk V Deluxe sometime next year. Gonna stop there though. I think it really is possible to have too many guns...especially when one considers the costs of customizing/re barreling, scopes, reloading equipment etc etc. Anyhow, thanks for showing off your awesome new Mark V deluxe...you got an especially nice one! You lucked out!👍
7mm is the one brother…mine was built in 1971….i have the Japanese Howa barrel…Carl Zeiss on top…bhefore that i had the Redfield 3x9 WideView Accutrac….good scope….lived in Canada 6yrs with the regular jaunt to Alaska..180gr Barnes X..for hunting Moose and Bear..Core Lokts for zeroing in…thats not to say the CL’s aren’t good hunting bullets..they are
I didn't even think about the swap out stock for hunting. That makes perfect sense I couldn't get my mind how I would go hunting with this rifle it's too perfect but the swap out is a great solution. As far as too many guns I have to disagree with you on that one no such thing
I have collected Weatherby Mark 5S for 40 years(I shoot left-handed)and have owned and shot every conceivable Weatherby caliber including the 460. The monte carlo stock hits my cheek bone. Weatherby should make a classic straight stock. Recoil would be to the shoulder. Forget muzzle brakes. Mag-Na-porting helps tremendously Weatherby made a classic Mark but it didn't sell well. A stock maker can take the hump down, thin and under cut the cheek piece and the flutes. It would be a unique looking Weatherby that would recoil properly.
I have 3 and love them. I shoot the 115 Partition and 115 Ballastic Tip. Never had to shoot anything 2X. At 437 yards Killed a Russian Boar running across a Peanut Field. Rifle is sighted in 1.5” high at 100. Hold was top of back.
Beautiful barrel and stock, the finish is awesome !! Gorgeous rifle indeed, my one gripe that I can't seem to get over and holds me back from buying one is the ugly bolt, it's not jeweled. In my opinion it doesn't match the rifle. For the price you pay they left that detail out.
I hate you! Now I have something else I just have to have and can't afford. That is an awesome rifle. I built one on their web site in 7mm Weatherby with iron sights. But the price tag is beyond my means right now. 'I have a dream!'
...now that's what a real Weatherby should look like...mirror polished blued metal...beautiful wood with all the Weatherby details...very nice...enjoy... ...edit...bought one in 7mm Weatherby Magnum about a week ago...after first wanting one about 45 years ago...
Wow! Stunning rifle Marc. Is that the standard stock for the mark V deluxe or an upgrade? I know they come with nice wood but I've never seen one that comes close to that.
@@downinthebottomswithmarcsm1520 With that shooting regimen it should last as long as you do. I shoot a .25 Krag Improved with stainless barrel. Jacketed loads for hunting, cast bullet loads for target or just fooling around.
Weatherby is one of the few American rifle makers that never lost touch with classic quality craftsmanship
They certainly did when they bakrupted or sold out and moved to japan ill be interested to see since they are back in america
@@MrJtin69 the Japan built guns were of exceptional quality.
They haven’t been built outside of America in decades. Minus the Howa 1500’s that are assembled here.
Congratulations! What a beautiful rifle! Roy’s favorite cal also!
Love that caliber i have a German mark v 257
My hubby has that rd. built on a custom Sako action and 27 inch barrel.

Happy happy for you. May you have years of joy.
I think this has to be the nicest rifle I’ve ever seen!.. that gloss 🤩
Congrats, and enjoy!
Just beautiful. Yes update video is needed❤
Beautiful rifle sir, I just picked mine up the exact same!! My dream rifle for a long time.
Very nice looking rifle. I have a .257 in a Vanguard and I have a 6.5-300 wby mag in the Accumark. Again very nice looking rifle.

Yes please do.
We would all really enjoy that. Thx
You believe in barrel break in? Or just shoot the gun? Wanna make the best of my .300 WBY Accumark
@@eddielombera5862 I follow the Weatherby recommended break in process and so far all of my Weatherby’s have been very accurate.
@@downinthebottomswithmarcsm1520 right on 👍 thanks for the quick reply!
@@downinthebottomswithmarcsm1520 is that a push feed or controll feed was just wandering. I like a 257 Roberts. Or magnum. Thought of getting one.
My most favorite caliber I own and shoot! MK5 RC tack driving hammer 🔨!! Especially with the TTSX and TSX from Barnes!! One and done...💥☠️
Weatherby please update your barrel twist they need to be faster for the heavies❤

Alex Clarke came that way!
All mark v deluxe comes that way
I was attracted to this once I saw the date: June 27th. That is my birthday!
Stunning.
Not sure how many rounds through this, or what mix of loads (if you reload), but would be curious about how the bore throat is doing after 6 years?
I’ve shot it probably 500 times. No issues. I never overheat her (rapid fire) and I limit it to hunting shots and sight in only. Still driving tacks.
