Here is the state of the program... Retain the coaching staff. Continuing to develop NBA talent. Bringing in top HS and transfer talent that fits the system. Even being in the conversation for a 3peat is INSANE. A+
Love you guys and love this series. For the departure and returnee categories I think you should consider only counting people who could have returned for departures because players who literally could not return shouldn't count against a team. UConn may still get a 2 for losing Clingan and Castle (and maybe Karaban), but I don't see what a team can do to keep players who cannot still be part of the team. I think it would also make the "returnees" segment clearer doing it that way.
Fun to see you guys realize in real time 1/4 of the way through the episode that the categories don't actually reflect the state of a program. At least you knew it and so almost got to the right answer in the end with all the extra credit.
By January the team will be running the offense like clockwork with the new starters. They might have more depth than this last team especially if Karaban comes back. The offense is about distribution of the ball and balanced scoring. The only real question is can Samson stay out of foul trouble. If he can then this team can make a deep run.
Alex Karaban is wowing in the combine, and will get drafted (likely end of round 1, meaning a top team). Now it would be amazing if, strong if, Cooper Flagg drops from Duke to be the #4 with Karaban going out and gets to play with his #3 from Montverde, Liam.
@@brandoncohoon Because he is a better fit at UCONN. You can't be a game changer at Michigan. That place is a dumpster fire. He is a Hurley guy. An effort guy that does the dirty work which allows the people around him to flourish. He is enough of a threat to keep everyone honest. He will impact games at UCONN. BOOK IT! I have seen them a few times.
Its all about our offense.....other teams cant defend this offense especially when they play their bench against it. There is just too much movement and with or without the ball.
I'll say it this way: nobody will want to see UConn in the tourney. The physicality, and diversity of styles played in the Big East will again, prepare UConn to compete against anybody.
I think you guys have it about right. Hurley knows what he has in Ball, Stewart, and Ross. So, he didn't want to interfere with their development by adding Kobe. I think you guys will see the jump made by at least two of those three if not all three. Again I will trust Hurley with this decision because he seems to have a great pulse for these things. I think they go back in the lab and start running stuff for Ball specifically. The staff he can be as good a shooter as Brea but a better defender.
Y’all obviously have ball knowledge. But sometimes I feel like the guy on the bottom says stupid shit, and the top guy is an asshole who can’t let it go
It just doesn’t make mathematical sense to punish teams in this exercise for having good players leave. For that to work you would need to have started them at a higher grade before the exercise.
State of the program (to be left to the guys who are currently pushing the buttons) the rest is pure speculation ,guessing and fortune telling . I choose to relax and keep my opinions to a small group of close friends who all know that opinions are like A/O's , we all have one and they all stink!!

I have to agree and I’m not a UConn fan

Putting guys in the lottery is why UConn got anyone they wanted in the portal without overspending on NIL.
UConn should have a 10/10 for that.

I feel like you guys are the tarris reed of college basketball media
😂
A+ comment
If this is for state of program, sending 4 or 5 players to the NBA is a good thing so that category should be combined with incoming players

We lost 3 starters to the NBA last year and then assembled the greatest college basketball team in the modern era. This staff knows how to reload
Which should prove the state of your program is strong. But their formula doesn’t reflect a program’s true strength.

Wow some still haven’t accepted that UConn lost the recruiting battle for Flagg’s services lol
Next March, you will ask if Solo Ball is a better defender than Castle and if Karaban deserves POY consideration.
kind of a weird way to evaluate total program state. should be something like roster, coaching staff, resources, brand attractiveness, vibes.
Y’all are sleeping on Tarris Reed, he’s gonna be a game changer
Same I think he’s going to be on another level and he’s like 280 but can move well
He is the wild card for me. I am trusting Hurley though. The concern is the turnovers. Love his size and effort though.
Reed is better than Golden for sure. Greg is just bitter.
How when he is a Michigan fan and watched Reed the whole time he was there, he knows Reed very well no?

Adding Brea would have resulted in someone leaving.

Bruh 10 means u can’t get better.. Ain’t no way That’s a perfect class

Heel Hurley is going to pull a rabbit 🐇 out of his hat with this team. Sweet Sixteen bound at least, maybe an elite eight run for the champions.

You get Aidan for 2 years vs Brea for 1. This is a clown show.
These clowns picked northwestern to beat UConn 😂
Solomon ball has a 45 inch vertical and with a 6,10 wingspan he finna be in contention for big east player of the year hot take
😂
Love the effort….. but y’all are still clowns with you’re scoring/takes….. saved yourself with extra credit 😊
He’s no Boo Bouie, but Devin Carter of PC was Big East POY
Tristen was not big East player oty (Devin Carter was). Bro was first team all American though 🎉
I want 6’7 50% 3point shooter Koby Brea so bad ….imagine him with Mcneeley and Karaban all 6’7+
