Hi I’ve got one of these coming tomorrow amd ive spoke to NPE yesterday and they said only calibrate with the treadmill if you want it to match your treadmill, the reason I’ve got mine coming is because like nearly all treadmills mine probably isnt that accurate so the runn would tell you the real speed at what your treadmill belt is running rather than what the treadmill it’s displaying, you can link it to zwift or others,(I’ll just connect mine to my garmin watch) and the runn will act as my speed source, can’t wait to give it a go,
@@SteveHowkins no worries, I’ve watched a few RUclips vids on people seeing what there treadmills actually run at (using some maths equations) and some can be quite a bit out so I’m quite interested to see how far out mine is when it arrives,
Reset the Runn today and it was showing around 0.3kph quicker than the treadmill speed. That's with 2 stickers on the belt. Interesting result but also shows my treadmill is pretty accurate. Happy with that.
@@SteveHowkins great stuff buddy, Mike came today as well, when at slower speeds my treadmill measured .1mph too fast it was perfect al 6mph then up at faster speeds when my treadmill was at 8mph the run was up at 8.2mph and up at 10mph the runn measured 10.3mph so pretty close, there’s a app by NPE called configurez and you can link it to your runn and calibrate just the incline, you can also update your runn and see how much battery it has left
@@MattGarner10 yes got the app already. Did all that stuff yesterday when I updated it. Incline is useful when training too. Really is a great piece of kit.
The Runn treadmill sensor is very difficult to set up. Took me 90 minutes. But once you get it set up and reporting, it is very accurate on actual belt speed and even incline as well. I knew in advance, by measuring belt travel with a wheel device, that the belt on my treadmill is moving 18.5% too fast (a 12 minute mile according to my F-85 Sole treadmill, is in reality actually closer to a ten minute mile on the belt.)
I think I got lucky with positioning mine as setup was quite quick but I can see depending on what treadmill you have it can take time. I my do a test on mine but have a feeing it’s fast too.
Absolutely! I did intervals yesterday and although the sensor was jumping +/- 0.2/3 kph I think is expected when running faster. Remember sensor and sticker position is important. You have plenty of stickers to trial and error but only one sensor mount sticker so try it I different positions I.e, front, back, left, right.
Thanks! The app has just been updated to allow for calibrated inclines. This can be used effectively on some running apps but currently Zwift does not support incline for running like it does for cycling. My guess is its difficult to incorporate and also could be a safety hazard. Bottom line the Runn sensor can recognise incline, Zwift can't.
Hi!!!!!! excellent explanation... waitin for mine to arrive. only one question. the most important thing for this small computer is the stickers distance dont? at the end is the only thing it uses to calculate speed no mathers how your treadmill tells
Yes the sensor has 2 readings and it measures the time taken for the sticker to go from one to the other. You can use one sticker or a couple just spread them overly. I found my treadmill worked better with 2 rather than 3.
The stickers are good quality and out the way of the device so sweat shouldn’t be an issue on those. With regards to sweat dropping on it I wouldn’t have thought that an issue. I have sweat on mine with no issue. I wouldn’t dunk in in water but sweat should be fine.
@@mcride1 I have tried to find treadmills available in Slovenia but the websites go back to UK sites where I live. I have linked the treadmill I have below: www.jllfitness.co.uk/jll-t350-folding-treadmill.html Speed of up to 18KPH, 4.5CHP so more than powerful enough and a great spec for the money here in the UK.
@@SteveHowkins Hi, thanks. I can see running width is only 41 cm, which I think is not enough, should be at least 50-55 cm or? As far as I can see they can not ship it to Slovenia. Im aware I need to lower it. My fault for not checking before I uploaded. Hopefully all videos after this one I have created are much better in terms of background music volume.
The Zwift Pod is trash. I've had it almost a month et it's only worked for two runs & even then the calibration was WAY off. I agree w/ your assessment but please consider losing the musical accompaniment. It's entirely unnecessary.

Nice to know. Next time I run I will reset mine and see what's comes out compared to the treadmill.

Thank god for subtitles.
great vid thanks. you may want to consider dropping the background music volume as personally i found it very hard to hear you above the music! :)
A comment I got regularly on this video. One of my early ones and not an issue these days haha.

Music to loud makes it hard to understand you
I agree having watched it back. Thanks for the feedback.
Do you recommend the NPE Runn for doing run workouts/ intervals?...I've read the Runpod is really only good for doing steady paced runs.

great video, music is toooo loud tho. cheers
I did notice that after I agree.
Is the Runn sweat/water proof? I sweat a lot and afraid it could kill the Runn or cause the stickers to come off pretty quick.

So you suggest runn, what about treadmill which one do you recommend (must be foldable, 2-3 HO..)?
I do. If you want the most accurate data its the one to go for.
which country are you in and I can look into some options. what is your budget?
