Great case study though I feel that you have given the impression that Saguaro cacti are found in all deserts when they are only found in North American ones e.g Sonoran and Mojave. Cacti are great examples of xerophytic adaptations and can be used to answer that q, but do not use in a case study on Thar desert where the vegetation is mainly grasses and herbs such as Heartleaf which sprout, flower and seed within 2-3 weeks and also thorny scrub like Kair bushes.

Hi Raman. Thanks for your comment. However if you visit the British Geological Society and search gypsum you will find information regarding the economic value of gypsum as a mineral being low. For example the British gypsum industry is worth approx £19 million per annum which for mining is not a lot. Its main uses are in plaster board. Hope this clears up any confusion.
