Large scale water transfer project- South_North Transfer Project
Great case study though I feel that you have given the impression that Saguaro cacti are found in all deserts when they are only found in North American ones e.g Sonoran and Mojave. Cacti are great examples of xerophytic adaptations and can be used to answer that q, but do not use in a case study on Thar desert where the vegetation is mainly grasses and herbs such as Heartleaf which sprout, flower and seed within 2-3 weeks and also thorny scrub like Kair bushes.
thank you💪
this is so underrated
Good video very helpful.

Not sure how I ended up here. But just a brief answers to your questions: actually all those questions have been discussed a lot, way before, again again and again in the Chinese network ( of course you don't know anything about it, like the rest, well if you did you won't have courage to make up such vid) 1. Money/budget do not considered as a problem in China for such civilization scale projects. And, just incase you want to lead the topic to "those workers are slaves" blah blah blah, just think those "slaves" probably living a better life than you atm, so yep, just incase you try to go that way please don't, it is tiresome. 2. Impact on people and farmland has been proofed not a concern anymore, even in this early stage, on those servicing/testing area, the water has actually transformed more dry lands than expected, and the relocated people has more farmlands, if they still want to be a farmer anymore, that actually linked to another interesting topic, the change of environment is changing the society, this project has accelerated the local inland people to be more advancing in their society development, since their labouring effort could not keep up with the environment changes (more and better farm lands). It will eventually lead to fully automatic agriculture industrialization (Drones system can be one of the hints) and more engineering evolution on Chinese agriculture culture. 3. Evaporation...Sigh... I am not sure how many times this topic has caused a war of words inside China. Why they have to use the open water canals? Simple, since open canals in some areas are providing more benefits then others, and not to mention all kind of water transferring method have been used in this project, really I need to ask how much you actually know about this project? Are you just assuming it is only using the open canal all the way up? And the evaporation is actually in the planning too, use the man-made river to change the weather and underground water system, and by long term, those could change the lands, to be more habitable. The real aim of this project is NOT to deliver the water to Beijing, it is to change the whole environment of the massive northwest inhabitable landscape of China, to develop its inland area, also for the future industrial environment building, well actually those beneficial changing are already happening in some area like baima lake area. This project is NOT a city water supplying project, it is a Planet Terraforming project! Open your eyes! 4. The whole project has been constructed with all kinds water transfer methods, including the open canal and underground canal, it is a multi-generations civilization level project, if you only sees it as benefit for one or few urbanized area in China? I will say try to get out of you own box. Why China made such decision? Or you just conveniently assumed those people don't know about evaporation of water or impact on farmlands or don't think of vegetation landscape changes? All I can say is, if you think about it why you assumed those thousands thousands of experts and engineers didn't think about it? You need to think again. p.s. if you really want to blame the project, the latest point is: if such terraforming project has caused the local environment changes dramatically, could it possibly lead to some nature disasters like earthquake or sinkholes etc. Use it as you want, don't need to thank me
Do we really care tho
@@The_femme_fatal Nah, the internet only grows hatred and stupidity nowadays. Sometimes I wonder why I even bother to type such a wall of text to explain it. Maybe just bored. Just move on already.
