    What you could do for the cardigan sleeve, is provisionally cast on, do the charts, sew or knit it into the armhole and do the ribbing at the end, so you can measure it exactly to length. Just a thought! ❤ Loving all the hand spun, I have a Kiwi 2 as well and I love it. It’s my first (only) wheel and I’m properly learning on it.

      Thank you! That's a great idea, I think I'll do that, then I won't have to worry about sleeve length! 😃💕

    Tracy I’m so sorry about your migraines. But you made me laugh! You know you’re a hard core knitter when the worst thing about a migraine is…you can’t knit!😂😂😂
    I so enjoy your podcasts. I love to see what you’re knitting! I’m often saying, yay, I should cast that on too, or I need to get some of that…don’t even get me started on your Shifts! I love that you’re both knitting one and I love your choice of yarns! So that was a double whammy, I want to knit it and si need some of that yarn! Thanks girls! Keep knitting! I’m a hard core knitter, I knit every day. I enjoy watching your crochet projects and now with you both spinning, I think it’s great to see the encouragement and fun you both have with your fiber crafting!🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶

    Hello Ladies 😀. Kirsty I put a dishtowel/handtowel over the item to be steam blocked, and then use the steam feature while actually ironing over the towel which provides a barrier for the knitted item.

    • @woolandwishes
      @woolandwishes  5 месяцев назад +1

      That's great! I have used this technique once before for colourwork. Didn't think about it for other projects or realise this was the steam blocking! 🤣 I think I may do this with a lot of projects from now on, thank you! 😁💕

    When you’re sewing the lining of the bag, sew 1/8 in larger seam allowance starting about 1 inch away from the top. The tops will be the same size but the inside will be just a touch smaller and lay better on the inside. I LOVE all the Simons! I hope to be showing mine off soon :) Be blessed this month. I’ll be sending positive vibes for you ladies!

    So many lovely projects, thank you for such an inspiring podcast. I have a Janome sewing machine which will only sew with Gutermann thread. When I have tried to use the cheaper options the thread just snaps and jams, so it might be worth trying a spool. It is more expensive, but Hobbycraft do occasionally have it on sale.

    I had the same problem with the thread breaking over and over on one of my first sewing projects. I didn’t realize I was using cotton thread and should have had a poly thread instead. I agree with a previous commenter who suggested Gütermann thread it’s well worth the little extra you pay for good tread. I believe overlocking thread is also 2 ply thread because an overlocker machine uses 3-4 threads at a time,at least that is what mine is, so on its own it’s not too strong. Love the bag though it turned out great!

    Hi ladies, thank you for filming, love love love everything you’ve showed us today. Your whitmoor tee looks so pretty Tracy, assuming you haven’t had anymore problems with the yarn as I’m sure it was that one you had an irritation from on the podcast before and then Mandy from mouse’s makes podcast mentioned the same thing with the shhh yarn. I’m currently half way through two summer tops at the moment but I’m obsessed with the Emmanuel tee, I started it a week ago and I’m half way done, really looking forward to wearing it. Hope you both have a lovely summer with your families and look forward to seeing you soon. Xxxx

    I've suffered with migraines for over 20 years. I ended up getting a daith piercing in my right ear. It really helped for about two years. Then I started getting migraines on the other side. So I went back and got a daith piercing in the other ear. Before getting the piercings I had migraines twice a week sometimes more. Also I had migraines that would last for days. I've had the piercings for several years. The migraines have come back, but they don't last as long as they did before. Also, they aren't as severe.

    I would like to suggest that you try Alka Seltzer for your migraines I used to find them wonderful if you take them as soon as they first come, don't wait to see if it is one. 💕 I don't get migraines anymore thankfully but this remedy is not expensive and definitely worth a try

    I think the Nano wheel is rather controversial. Because of its low price it's appealing for beginners especially, but imho it should never be sold to beginners. It's far too iffy and difficult, you really need to know how to deal with it. And you can't know that when you don't even know the basics on spinning!
    That said, if you have a chance to test the EEW 6, it's way different. It's a true e-wheel and works like a charm, is lightweight but still sturdy, and easy to adjust. Different people like different wheels, so it's best to test before buying if in any way possible. Ashford e-spinner is liked by many, but I did not like it. It was my first e-wheel, and I wasn't sure if it was the wheel or me, so I bought the EEW 6. Realized I just couldn't get along with the Ashford which to me seemed shaky (weird, while it's so heavy!) and pretty much impossible to adjust. Also the bobbins are clumbersome and the wheel is expensive. So I sold it and have been happy ever after with my EEW 6.
    Good thing, Tracy, that you at least had a friend who could trouble shoot your Nano and tell you it wasn't you, so you still had the spark to continue spinning!

      Thanks so much! It's good to know about different wheels and other people's experiences with them! 😁 The EEW6 sounds great and definitely worth checking out. I love my Ashford e-spinner but it definitely is wobbly when turning the speed up for thinner yarns and quite loud too. Thanks for spending time with us! 😊💕

    Blimey Tracy, it's one thing after another isn't it?! I saw Paula's video where she mentioned how scary whooping cough is. I'd never heard of anyone in that age group having it before, but there seem to be more and more cases due to the low uptake of vaccination. Thank goodness you're all okay! ❤

      I know I can’t believe that people in this age group are getting it, it’s been a really scary time ( still is for my Husband) but he is getting there hopefully not much longer although the doctor said it can last 3 months 🙈 I hope not we all need sleep 🤣

    Hi ladies, I have a quick question about zickzack scarf. How do you start and end the row with an I-cord?
    I really liked the half poncho cowl , just beautiful.
    Take care
    Rosy

    • @woolandwishes
      @woolandwishes  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks so much Rosy! 😊 With the zick zack scarf, first 3 stitches are knit, last 3 stitches are slip 3 wyif. This is on every row. Just cast on 6 extra stitches, 3 on each end. Also using stitch markers in between pattern repeats and the edge stitches makes this project far more enjoyable! 😅

    I went to a sewing class with my machine and the thread kept breaking. The instructor sat down oiled my machine and away I went. No more broken thread. Worth a try because broken thread is frustrating as heck.

    Cheep thread is not good in sewing machines, that could well be why your thread kept breaking. It’s a good idea to buy a good quality thread for the machine, as it will be less stressful in the long run
