Back in 2018 I was in LA and the cab driver asked me about what team I like and I said that I'm a Lakers fan and things aren't looking great. He said, "You think you're struggling? Try being a Knicks fan all your life like me." We talked a lot about growing up with basketball and loving it at a young age and I told him that I hope that he can be happy with them again and he said, "It's probably never happening." I think of that guy now when I see how fun it is watching the comradery of this squad. I hope that guy is having the time of his life with this Knicks team.

I dont think Randle hardly get any recognition that he deserves. Knicks fans take him for granted but picking him up and his ability to just show up and provide consistency was huge after years of volatility in the rosters with players being so inconsistent.

James Dolan meddling and putting yes men in charge crippled the Knicks for about 15 years. What really "kicked off" the Knicks new winning era was Dolan stepping away from the meddling. In 2015 Dolan finally stepped away from "meddling" in the team's operations and that slowly turned things around. However, it didn't result in major success from 2015-2019 because Dolan put Phil Jackson in charge. Phil was given full autonomy to build the team but it didn't work because Phil's ideas were out of date for a mid 2010's NBA.
Then the true beginning of the turn around began when Scott Perry smartly pivoted away from the KD/Kyrie/Zion "big 3" and just smartly signed Randle to a team friendly 2 year deal with a team option followed by signing a bunch of younger players to 1 year deals with 1 year team options.
It took a couple of years but the Knicks just kept drafting and Perry was the first GM in 35 years to put the team in a better position than when he found it. Perry handed over Leon Rose a team that was full of young ascending players and had all of their draft selections and some extra picks. The team also had no bad contracts and cap space/flexibility.
Leon Rose then took that solid foundation and built on top of that and the rest is history.

They blew up a 2 seed for people like Lou Amundson, Kyle O’Quinn, terrible signings like Calderon, terrible draft decisions like Frank, Cleanthony Early, we got lucky with Tingus Pingus. Context please. The Knicks are back to making the 2nd rd...congrats...I guess. They were 15-15 against the teams in the WC. A .500 record in the WC would not even make the play-in. This is not a team nowhere NEAR winning a title.

I know these playoffs like one-third of the roster broke down with injuries; but hopefully they all come back next season, to prove to the league how good they are.

GREAT video man! And I have become a fan of this scrappy, tough Knicks fan. That being said, they’re not a legit championship contender yet. They struggled against a Sixers team with a one-legged Embiid and are having a tough time getting past a Pacers team that plays zero defense and with a star (Haliburton) who at times does not show up. IF they make it to the ECF, I don’t see them winning more than 1-2 games against the Cs.

Also keep on moving that goalpost. 1st they were a play in team. Then they were nothing more than a 1st round exit. Then thryre losing to Indians. Now they won't win any more than 1 or 2 games vs Boylston
Let me guess. If they beat boston, you'll be saying nuggets will win easy

James Dolan is still a bad owner, but the Knicks have come this far to go from a punching bag to a contender. It’s always great to see teams go from a laughingstock to now a respectable contender.

Another amazing Andy hoops banger video and for Knicks fans like me have suffered way too long and hopefully we can finally make the eastern conference finals, but I’m really really disappointed nor not surprised that Draymond Green saying that the Knicks season this year has been a fluke. this is not the same team that’s the Knicks have been through the last several years

I'm very happy to see that the Knicks, who were a weak team in the 2000s and 2010s, have now grown into a powerhouse team.
Jalen Brunson's move from the Mavericks to the Knicks was a huge success for him.

East is not weak though. East had 4 teams with 50 wins last year. East this year only had 2 teams win with +50 wins because the whole east was injured. Next year i gurantee it will be back to 4 or 5 teams with +50 wins.

Hey Andy. You forgot to include one big factor in the losing series against the Hawks. Mitch Robinson was injured and didn't play which as you would know would have made a big difference with their defense.

I really liked Melo. Dude wanted to be here which was rare. Unfortunately he gutted the team to get here. In that era i loved Amare most because he signed here as a free agent and that means something to me. Same with Randle and Brunson now. Them choosing us when no one else would means a ton as a fan.

NBA championship teams are built not bought that’s what this shows me selfish superstars aren’t being handed titles. I’m really happy for NY hopefully they go further and they have cap space for a big free agent signing which I think will be Giannis. Good job NY 👍🏽

It's good to see Knicks back! but i see 3 problems that maybe hurt in the future:
    1. This decent playoff run gonna be problem for Knicks in the future. Why? Because they are playing without Randle and without Randle they are already this good, idk in the future what's gonna be(they either trade him or keep him) but i still see this as a problem
    2. if i recall, coach Thibs is known as only 5/6 man roster even in D Rose era. Meaning that coach only playing 5 or 6 guys and dont let them rest. I know that 6 players are the only guys that "good" but you gotta make rotation otherwise players gonna be fatigue and lead this to the injury(hope this is not gonna happen). At least, for role players, they are assigned to buy a time, playing PnR, etc(idk their strat)
    3. Next offseason they gotta resign Isaiah Hartenstein and add more firepower player so the coach can make a rotation(basically the solution of number 2) xD
but in the other hand good job to Knicks!

You from the 90s. Playing 40+ minutes with multiple people in 90s was a normie.Oakley/Starks Ewing play more minutes than any knicks player in playoffs and in regular season. This is why players are soft now they dont play enough minutes. John Starks/Patrick Ewing or Charkles Oakley play more minutes than Joel Emibid who is a Superstar.

The Melo era was handled poorly not because of him but bc of management attempting to make Bargnani work which was a huge mistake bc it didnt work with the players there. Chandler got hurt and KP's injury did them in.
Wrong the Knicks were not willing to trade the amount of 1st rd picks to get Mitchell and that was a great move
