Talk about getting right to the point! Thanks for the free troubleshooting tips. I don't understand why people have 20 and 30 minute videos when your video was the most help and only 2:58. Thanks
This video was so helpful. My inside circuit breaker has AC and a furnace switch. I flipped the AC switch off and on, but it didn’t work. So I then I flipped the Furnace switch off then on again and that did the trick. Thank you so much!
Thanks! This worked for me. I used a long screwdriver. Stuck it down the pipe and wiggled it around. A few seconds later I heard water dripping. About 5 minutes later the AC came back on. Probably saved us a couple hundred bucks. :)
reading this comment made my day. i am glad you got your AC working. Man, back when i made this, the people were going to take days to even get to the house to diagnose.... aint no one got time for that
Happy to see a helpful vid that isn't just a company add in disguise. I can't seem to find much help with our issue but we're gonna check the drain just in case.
Dude!!!!! You just saved my girlfriend my 120 lb dog and me thank you it was 85 degrees in my apartment and the maintenance guys have came out three times and still have no idea but you and I have fixed it thank you!!!!
Thank you so much! I suffered last night. 85 in my house. An unusual few hot days in NYC in April. My issue was a switch that was halfway on/off. Switched to “on”. Saved me from calling a technician. Thank you 🙏🏾
+DELROY JENKINS oh man! Glad I could help :) what that clay is, from what I have found, is dust in the air, getting past the filter then getting caught on the evaporator unit during the condensation it creates by cooling the air.... Slowing down the melecular movement of the water molecules (causes condensation on the cold thing-evaporator) then running down the evaporator, collecting in the pipe and condensation tray below the evaporator.... In short... Change your filter regularly and make sure there is no space for air to pass by it letting dust in the system...
Good to know, me as an electrical apprentice I started to open the panel check for power, went outside check for power everything was good, check the thermostat well a lot of things and thanks God and this video I found the problem we can go to bed peacefully now. Thanks bro
Omg after watching your video ,I unclogged my drain on the unit and it fixed the problem...air clicked on 🤗... you saved me money as a single women I'm always calling repairmen. BLESS YOU
thanks for the video! my issue was the capacitor. bought new one off amazon for $20. also remember to change your AIR FILTER MONTHLY! can never do that to often!
Thank you! Just saved me from Texas summer heat! It was the drain pipe, I looked down in there and saw water standing. I tried my super plunger (pump handle type) and it freed up whatever was causing the issue. Water still can be seen, but I suppose that's expected to a degree. At least now I know about this aspect of my AC system and can start keeping up with the service for it by adding some white vinegar to help keep it clean.
Glad I could help. The build up is likely from dust collecting on the evaporator and then being dragged into the pipe. Change your filter regularly for fewer cloggs.
Would this be isolated to a region of the house? I have 2 thermostats, 1 upstairs, 1 downstairs. The upstairs doesnt work even though we successfully replaced that thermostat in the last 6 months but downstairs cools.
Thank you!!!! I thought I was gonna be sleeping without AC in Florida 🥵🔥😣😖and I checked the drain and it was full of water, I unclogged and solved 🙏🏼🌸😊 Thank you!!!
Thank you sir! You solved my problem, my AC was turning on every 4 hours than it would turn off so I replaced the capacitor and it immediately turned on than an hour later the AC turned off again so I went to the attic and saw the aluminum pan and it had a safety switch and it was full of water and the pipe that the water runs out was clogged so I scooped the the water out and ran a snake through the pipe and poured water into the pipe to flush it out and the AC turned on right away. Thank you! You solved my problem.
Thank you so much you save me alot of money mine ac was running and then just stop got on you tube your video was the first one I see very nicely done ✔ 👍
Thank you!!! Your recommendation to watch a video about clogged drain pipe actually made me go look one up …. And it solved the problem!!! You f’ing rock!!!!!!!
I avoided a $95 service call by watching this video. I thought it might be the thermostat, but my drain was clogged. The moment I cleared it, the AC came on, and it's been running since. Thank you!
Thank you I watched all of you guys videos and finally I fixed the problem I have three kids one with bronchitis thank you because you didn’t have to help us🙏
I came across your video while trying to "troubleshoot" a recent problem with my A/C system... 86'F in the house, and the A/C wouldn't come on. I cleaned the condensation coils, flushed the drain, and changed the filter... Also clicked the thermostat and the main breaker switches "off" and "on" again... And nothing working, until I re-watched your video. It also inspired me to take a closer look at my overflow sensor cup thingie... Thinking that maybe there might be something (ie. dust/dirt) interfering with the sensor wire despite the overflow cup being completely dry? So I took a Q-tip to carefully clean inside the cup... Found a small hole (where the overflow water comes up from) and poked the Q-tip inside that hole... And VOILÀ!! That did the trick!! The A/C clicked on immediately!! That tiny hole inside the overflow drainage cup was blocked with dirt/debris and interfering with the sensor. I wanted to pass this along just in case it's helpful to someone else as well. Thanks for your video!!
Glad I could help. Be sure to change your filter often to avoid debris build up, is what I am finding out. Super glad to see another person found their solution ☺️
THIS IS GREAT! I am so glad this is helping people out. Its so simple but the companies that do repairs dont run you thru the simple steps to check first. I assume they would not make money that way :(
i need help my AC is not working no more it was blowing cold like a few days ago i notice the temp on left is getting hotter then the one on the right instead of cooling down. and i felt the vents in the house to see if it was blowing any kind of cold but it was blowing heat. someone help.
check your filters and look at the coil on the inside to see if it's dirty if not called a hvac tech and he will check your refrigerant and make sure your compressor is working correctly and there isn't and blockages in the system
Hi, I have a condo AC unit in the wall and I don’t see the drain pipe that you showed in this video so I can’t use this method to fix my unit. I think I have the same problem.
Hi my AC is having problems that sometimes it works really well but sometimes it just stopped after I switched on for few seconds, I did ask technician to fix it before but he couldn’t really find out what’s wrong, will it also be the pipe blockage problem?
Thanks man, I was puzzled why my ac was not blowing cold as it did two days ago. The little I knew that my 5 years old turned off the outside unit fuse, I was only getting the inside fans going and the outside unit was off, I thought it's broken, it's 1 am and 82 degrees inside, you saved the night.
AC stopped working last night, service call was going to be $85.00 and the first available appointment was in 2 days. The heat index will be 105 degrees tomorrow. I watched this video for 53 seconds, and my AC was back up and running it, in literally, two minutes. When I changed the filter, I accidentally must have moved the safety switch. Thanks, so much. I saved time, money a few miserable days without AC.
+Rainy Dayz oh man... I am happy to hear it helped. For this video the AC guys said we would have to wait a few days and it would have been an expensive visit judlst to diagnose. I didnt want to wait and i didnt want to spend unnecessary money. Stay cool!
Hey, haven't tried this, but I sure will if I can find my drain Haha. But My AC kicks on but the blower fan doesn't. But yet, I can turn the blower fan on manually and it does just fine! Please help!
So my A/C has been working fine today the a/c guy came and cleaned the coil its on auto it was working fine then around 7pm it shut off and never came back on its currently 1:09am est the next morning... What does this mean & usually when this happens it wont come back on til the next day but why is that ?
For folks who are reading this years later.. Here's an easy fix: If you have compressed air, stick the spout or nozzle into the end of the drain line where the water flows out into the floor drain or sump.. and blast some air into there. Usually that will be enough to un-clog whatever is blocking it. (you may have to tape or just put your hand on the open end T if you have one up by the drain fitting on top of the furnace)
Try to Help You. I remember that I had originally tried to turn the circuit breakers off and then on a while back but I tried to do everything again just now anyway and no luck. But the funny thing is ..in the circuit board in my home some of them are really easy to flip.. those are the playing Square black ones... others are really hard to do and look a little different and I'm wondering now if some of them are marked wrong because the ones for the AC and the heat are very easy to flip whereas some of the ones for my kitchen are really hard to flip.. do you think it sounds like they got the wiring mixed up when they in the electrical box ?
It's 113 out and 94 in my house. I've tried everything I can expect my AC unit is on the 2nd story roof so I can't see if it's clogged. I just dropped 700 dollars 2 weeks ago to get it fixed. If it's a clog will someone charge me a bunch to fix it?
Not sure, dang. 20 degrees less is still quite a bit cooler but man, 94 indoors. I think this is just a case where more AC units are needed. Or a larger one. May be worth getting one of those 120 dollar window units from Walmart.
Thanks for saving me. AC stopped working out of nowhere on a hot Florida day. Fixed it thanks to your video. New subscriber.
