it's killing me to watch this with there being dead silence from the crowd when cadarev is absolutely smashing this game to pieces with these techniques, executed so well too
In other videos you can find comments like 'why is the crowd so noisy??" or "the donations are so annoying!! let the speedrunner talk!!", etc. I guess people is complex 😂 The run was great, anyway
Game of my childhood, so many memories. Opera House level alwayws scared me, I had been stucked there for ages. Never got past Living Quarters level when I got a bit bigger. Great Run btw.
Accidentally found a glitch on the ship level where there was a key behind a glass door. Couldn't find the lever to open it, but could see the key right there - so out of pure frustration, started jumping continually at the door and glitched through it. It was a mind-blowing moment as a preteen, thought I'd broken the game 😅 Got the key, and hoped the glitch would work again to get out from behind that door! Some reason, never tried glitches again through the remainder of the game. Always remember it though. Now, seeing this and how many glitches there are is just insane! Never knew this was a thing. You guys have a great memory for all of this!
Relating to 39:36 I feel I must add that turning the ship upside-down would not change the direction in which you turn the wheel. Rotation is only reversed if you mirror the ship. Presumably this ship just got rotated up-side down. By in-game logic, it would not make sense for a ship to get mirrored. If I missed a joke here, I got wooshed :p
Excellent speedrun. There were a few glitches I'd never seen before. Also, I didn't know you could skip London and the Pacific and still complete the game.
i remember having this game as a kid , my father would not pass 1st level and i thought it was incredibly difficult at the time ! it looks like a nice game to speedrun because of the wallclips and the jumps and routes
I was replaying TR1 when my dad casually sat beside me without saying a word and started reading the TR2 manual that came with the game. Once I realized he got the sequel I flipped and shut the PS1 off to play the new Lara Croft :)
Im not into watching speedruns usualy, especially with old games, but this one is absolutely fantastic! I was mesmerised from the beginning to the end, maybe that silent crowd was also? Such a great technique and cosy atmosphere! Great job!
Incredible display of skill, knowledge and obvious sheer practice and dedication. Great explanations and commentary to bring the viewer into what’s being performed. Fantastic speed run
Man it would be great if we could get a proper tomb raider movie that was actually about tomb raiding with a relatively serious tone and a journey to the center of earth kind of vibe when she gets deep enough they are dinosaurs and shit. Jus sayin
Whether or not a ship is upside down doesn't change the direction one would turn a wheel to open a door. Whoever left the comment at 40:30 in the video clearly didn't understand physics.
I love old games because it's easy to know what is going on, new games are too flashy and it's hard to tell what part of the level is gameplay and what part is window dressing.
53:54 who the hell on earth found out that this combination of steps works to get to the end of the level? 😮 To mee it looks completely random. Must have been someone with a deep understanding of the game engine or just pure luck.
Found by TailsGaming using a position viewer to see exactly where Lara is. Things like stumbles, turning and buffering can then be mapped out to give a consistent path. Fun fact Lara is technically falling at a high speed during all of this so the game thinks she travelled 150+km in this level.
Hate to be that guy but it drives me a bit crazy when like commentators or in this case players get on some random topic and will completely miss explaining something cool from the gameplay. So anyway, at 4:10 what did he do to get out of the water to the top of the building?
This is a swim corner bug. Diving at the corner with a good angle will embed Lara into the wall, the game then teleports Lara upwards to get out of the wall. Luckily there is a awning to land on
@@UpsideDwnFish cool, appreciate the response. I figured something like that since it appeared to be on purpose, but it's happens so fast I wasn't real sure what happened

It may be dead silence because there so into it and listening to what he’s saying they are forgetting to react ;)
@@colemoles7517 it's only killing me because if i was in that room, i'd have a hard time with it being so damn quiet xD would hurt my brain a lil
IKR JEEZ
Tricks looks very accurate... Sad the crowd is so quiet ! Round of applause for all those damn precise tricks !
I like to think that they're left speechless in front of such a skillful demonstration.
the public is dead, i was clapping like a maniac at all those precision jumps and inputs, wonderfull speedrun
xddd

American??
I hate cinemas in America, non stop talking and shouting

just went into the comments to see if anyone copped this, but now im wonder did the author intend it to be the actual puncline 😂
@@Alex-ck4in might very well be the case. In that case the runner and commentary got wooshed hard XD
The real question in my mind is why are the levers in the correct position in an upside-down ship? @22:27
And why is the Deck level suddenly the right way round again.
All time favorite childhood game. That was amazing to watch. Wow guys. 👏👏
I get emotions from this game that nothing in life can replicate.
I remember back in the day whenever I finished a level, I thought I'm not going to do it again.
Excellent speedrun. There were a few glitches I'd never seen before. Also, I didn't know you could skip London and the Pacific and still complete the game.
Wrong tomb raider, you're thinking of 3

Both my PC and especially myself have been too weak back then 😅
My father beat it and then I overwrote the save by accident and he beat it again. I still can't beat the second level.
To be fair, the game is actually hard for mere mortals. The third game, though, is something else... A total ballcrusher
@4:37 Cadarev does a much better job at summarizing the story of TR 2 than TR 2 itself lol
the crowd is not giving a fuck, people checking their phones, etc while cadarev is nailing at every single speedrun trick!
It’s weird not watching Smooth Operative run this game. 😢
Yeah her and becks goats
A shame that the the glitched run completely skips the best level in TR history (Xian).
But big thanks for having another classic TR run :)
That was amazing. I recently replayed this game for the first time since it came out and it was still great!
If u turn a clock upsidedown it continutes rotating clockwise. Also looks and keyholes.😊

eidgod has no business being that big of a hunk 🥵
I just noticed too, omg 😳
I remember how I used to enjoy these levels.
What - The - Fuck !!! This ist heavily impressive! Love it. ❤
I rarely watch speenruns but its crazy the amount of things you have to do. This was a game i never completed and he makes it look easy
Ah yes, Tomb Raider II, Lara goes brrrrrrr. Gotta love it!
42:04 that's mindblowing
God damn, this game took me weeks to finish as a kid.
that was cool! congrats!
Top tier run. 🙌
Anyone else notice that the upside-down ship had the wall paintings and candles right-side up on the second part of the ship?
I only know the wall jump glitch on Lara's house with the butler, didn't know about these other glitchs in game stages
Turning the ship upside down would not change the way you spin the wheel 🤦🏻♂️
I paused the video just to look for that in the comments. 😀
I didn't even think about that, but isn't the ship normal when he's outside of it?
@@ARUCARDFTEPES How do you mean? Part of the wreckage is separated and not inverted (The Deck level).
@@Rvd0lf Maybe that's what I saw? Only going by the video because I don't think I ever made it out of the first level on this one.

Awesome run and commentary, GG
I enjoy watching people play like this, but how do people discover things like the clock glitch?
Highly entertaining run.

should have ended with blowing Lara up with the secret jump... 👊Great play

i think it's faster to use lvlv skip code, you get speedrun under 5 min :^). this is kinda killing the game joy ( 23 years later)

Man kann am Englisch raushören was welchem Land sie kommen 😅
zumindest dass sie aus einem Deutschsprachigen Land kommen. Also ich hätte nicht Schweiz geschätzt!
Why don’t they make games like their where you have to explore for ledges rather than them being highlighted as such… where has exploration gone
Software renderer mode? ffs!
What is this?
It's eidgod, the askhenazi TR runner.
You need Footi for TR2 runs! :p
Claustrophobic and creepy game.
Imagine a tomb that's neither claustrophobic nor creepy
@@jennasloan396 Ya you're right, but I don't think the creepiness of that game was totally intentional.
I love that SHE/HER is actually a female. Wish GDQ could figure that out.
I was very disappointed in this sequel. Every tomb raider game after the first felt rushed.
Huh. I didn't know the European Space Agency and Extended Stay America did speedruns.
