In this episode of The Dough-Jo, we try out the trendiest healthy cereal alterative that's currently circulating the internet, Magic Spoon. They are healthy cereal that tastes too good to be true. They use a natural blend of monk fruit, stevia, and allulose. Allulose is a “rare” sugar found in things like figs and maple syrup. It tastes just like “regular” sugar, but has almost zero glycemic impact and almost zero calories (less than 0.4 cal/g).
We've been seeing a lot of fit pros raving about this brand so we had to give it try for ourselves....You already know you can count on us to ALWAYS give our HONEST review...
So, here's what we REALYY thought after trying 3 of the 9 flavours they offer:

We understand the need for some people to want to eat healthy cereal, but if you weigh out the taste, amount you get in the box, and the $10 prce tag, we won't be placing these cereal boxes on our shelves any time soon. You never know though, they might hit us with a more affordable, amazingly tasting upgraded magic spoon 2,0 in the near future and we change our minds...

I have but I prefer to mix the two cereal together from them in same boul you need to mix the cocoa one with the peanut one

We tried the Maple Flavor and my Kids Love it
My favorites are fruity, cocoa, blueberry, maple waffle, frosted and cinnamon. I feel cocoa, fruity, frosted and cinnamon will surprise you the most. I even sometimes mixed them like frosted and cocoa. Blueberry with fruity. Maple waffle isn't bad with Blueberry or cookies and cream.
tasted like flavored cellulose packing peanuts. Turned into a sticky paste when chewing that gets stuck to the roof of my mouth and teeth. Turned into mush Very quickly after adding milk. Ended up throwing out every box after just 1 bowl. Very disappointing.
I wish people would do more research before reviewing Keto Cereals. Keto has nothing to do with low calories, it’s about cutting out carbs and sugar. This is a great diet for people who are overweight or diabetic.
They may not be worry anput keto but better yet staying under their caloric intake output but idk

Everything, regardless of diet style, has to do with calories in vs calories out.
Or in my case someone who has a sucrose intolerance and this is like the only cereal option available that i can actually swallow. The other keto cereals I've tried was horrible. This one i can actually eat but its way to overpriced.
Lol I like how u use Keto Cereal like it’s a proper noun. This is advertised as a healthy high protein cereal that is also keto friendly. You’re allowed to dislike it and not talk about keto
Good review, it has to be flawless for $10/box (and a smaller sized box too).

Exactly $10 a box that is pretty steep price to pay I don’t mind paying a little more for a healthier alternative but in my opinion there is no way I can pay $10 for one box of cereal

Got a question. Under the definition of cereal it describes it as being made of grain. This stuff is basically milk puffs. How do they call this cereal? Shouldn't they call it flavored milk puffs?

one of many things that is an 'X substitute' that leaves the word 'substitute' out of the branding (though makes much of it in the advertising) like most milk substitutes are just labled as '(Thing) milk' despite the thing in question being, say, a plant (and thus not producing milk).
One box is 7oz
One serving size is 8oz
Box claims there is 5 servings per container.
WHAT?!
Serving size is 37g which is about a cup. 1 cup does not equal 8oz unless you are talking about water. 👍

when you pour cereal into a 1 cup measuring cup you have 1 dry cup, which should give you 6.8 dry oz of material. I get that the cereal isn't small like flour. But splitting hairs isn't going to change the fact that it is a miniscule amount of shit for an astronomical price. It's not practical to only offer 7oz of cereal in a box and claim it will be 5 servings. That applies to almost no one in a realistic environment
I disagree with $10 a box being expensive.
You're going to eat breakfast multiple times out of one box, and you're at the end of the day claiming around $3 for breakfast is too expensive for you.
$10 dollars a box for cereal, it surely better come with a magic lamp..smh

Understand if you workout, then just about any food tastes very good. Plus, if you are use to protein Shakes and bars, then same effect.
I agree about the Cocoa. It is good but could use a bit more cocoa flavor. I tried the Blueberry and LOVED it. The Peanut Butter one sucks. I smell PB but that's it. Never tried the Cookies n Cream. I heard the Strawberry tastes like Fruit Loops. If I order more, as of now, I would either get all 4 boxes of Blueberry or half Blueberry and half Cocoa.
I buy cocoa puffs and cut it, 25 percent cocoa puffs and it increases the flavor 10 folds. Yes cocoa puffs has the sugar and junk but I'm only going 1/4 with the puffs.

I ordered the frosted, cocoa, cinnamon and peanut butter. The only one that was good was cinnamon. The rest had a horrible taste. Luckily they refund you if you don’t like it. It’s super expensive for 4 bowls in a box.
I love this stuff! Helped me lose weight I’d been trying to lose forever. As a 32 year old woman, I’m saying thanks to all the ripped dudes on RUclips that make food reviews and grocery shopping videos because for some reason, THOSE are the tips that have actually helped me. No vegan, fit girls’ video has ever helped. It’s y’all. Anyway, I do like this cereal, tired of being jealous of my husband throwing down on 2 bowls of Oreo Os in the morning.
You don't have to eat this junk when overweight. I eat cheereos and cornflakes in yoghurt with banana, berries and nuts. Really teasty and healthy!

Great energy guys! My favorite is the Blueberry, and then the fruity one, but the absolute WORST one I've had is the cocoa. Maybe I got a bad cocoa batch? That was a HUUUUUUGE disappointment. If you can recommend a GREAT chocolate keto cereal, I'd be eternally grateful.

@Cecil Fitz couldn't stand the Catalina brand. Both flavors I tried went into the trash after 2 bites.

I have almost all the flavours and they help me stay on my diet which is why I don't care about spending the money because diet adherence is everything to me. The best flavor in my books is salted caramel or frosted. Strangely you guys hated peanut butter but I didn't mind it. I also didn't mind cinnamon roll too.
A coworker gave me the peanut butter box. I loved it so much it only lasted 2 mornings.

I sometimes eat a whole box of this cereal at a time. But then again I'm 6'2" 250 lbs lol. Takes a lot to fill me up. I look on the bright side. It's better than eating a whole box of regular sugary cereal.
I tried the sample and must say that all flavors were horrible. I gave my dog a bite of the peanut butter only to watch him lick his butt to get the taste out of his mouth.

its not keto friendly. just look at the calorie table values. they got 15g carbs per 37 grams cereal, which is 40g carbs per 100 grams cereal. someone on keto is expected to keep their daily carbs down to 30 to 50 grams. you can't do that eating this ridiculous cereal. please educate yourselves on calories nutrition, this was an embarrassing review.
The amount of poors I see surrounding this brand is insane. People won’t bat an eye about spending $10 at McDonald’s or on one singular drink at a bar, but can’t spend $10 on a box of healthy cereal.

I agree the peanut butter one is not good. I just found out I'm sucrose intolerant so I bought the sample packs on Amazon. It was way over priced as most keto stuff is but compared to other keto cereals I could actually swallow it. The other keto brands went in the trash after a few bites. I never tried the coco or cookies and cream but I have tried the frosted, peanut butter, cinnamon roll, and fruity. The fruity was an odd flavor of fruit loops . The Cinnamon roll was the best one to me. It tasted a lot like a cinnamon roll with an odd texture. I don't even care for cinnamon rolls but the flavor seemed better then the others I tried. Its to overpriced though but it's really the only cereal I can eat.

They got the penut butter flavor wrong that's for sure, barely any flavor at all in it and im actually not very partial towards the cocco either. But I disagree completely about the cookies and cream. Yeah it doesn't taste like a sugary snack that's cookies and cream flavored but its still got the strongest taste of the three and its a taste I like.
I ordered the 6 pack. Have only tried 3 so far, Frosted, cinnamon roll & fruity. Texture is a little odd. The flavor when chewing was fine but aftertaste is odd. I did not like the cinnamon which was a big let down. And at the price, & box weight, tough to justify.
Try Magic Spoon Which Has Monk Fruit Instead of Real Cane Sugar, It Made My Nausea Terrible Cinnamon Waffles Flavor Was Good Without The fake Sugar if This makes any sense 😮
The amount of cereal in a single box is ridiculous. Its three or four smalls ice cream size bowls worth. Yeah it tastes better than other keto cereals but is it worth the money?

The cocoa is terrible. The cereal is only coated with a little cocoa flavoring. Halfway through my bowl ther cocoa washed off and I had white cereal that did not taste good at all.
