I'm thinking the old Mustang is going to win some trophies at the local car show 🇺🇸
Hopefully
Your attention to detail throughout this build is impressive Russ. I know it's going to be a beauty.
I'm hoping it makes him a great car
@@HotRodGuyGarage🔥😎
I like your balance of "speeding up", gives us a view of your process and then more time to explain other important details.
That's what I try to strive for
Your videos not only highlight your incredible body working and automotive skills, they can also teach the average person a lot about honesty and integrity. Your channel is easily my favorite automotive themed channel by a mile. Keep up the good work!
I appreciate that alot, I try my best
I have followed every video from start to finish. Thank you for keeping me entertained and educating me.
@@Tom-ki3lq awesome, and thank you for watching them
I look forward to seeing Daisy as much as your videos. What an adorable kitty.
Thank you! 😊
Car looks great, doesn't even look like the same car.
Starting to come around
I have been with you from the beginning what you have done is nothing short fantastic, will be good to see before and after pictures, nice job Russ God bless and peace out, good to see you were not hit with all that devastation, our hearts and prayers go out to your neighbors and friends, our church is sending goods down the first of many
Thank you, and We were very fortunate to not be in the direct line, a lot of people were not as fortunate
You go above and beyond when it's your signature on the line. Your work is your signature, and by the looks of it, you have excellent penmanship. Long live the Pontiac Turbo Firefly!
Thank you so much 😀
Just came home from shopping and grabbed a coffee ,turn on the coputer and my favorate build is on Thanks Russ keep on groovin. Love your show.
Awesome! Thank you!
"I do care".
Thats my man! If only more people would work like that nowadays. Could you imagine! 🍻
If everyone would put a little heart into there passion the world would be a much better place
We like reading opinions,,just be respectful to good ol HOSS.Every-1 out there knows "the proper way to do what-ever".Tell us your experience. If you get roasted in comments
@@genehunsinger3981 Gene, I've noticed that you have been on this channel for quite a while. So you sound like you know your way around cars as well. I'm pretty new for following anyone on RUclips but I'm glad I found Russ here. It's a good thing. You you out east coast way, too? I'm out of Oregon.
Anyhow, talk to you later.
@@DonaldDolph-ob8yv In PA,,yeah,If you ever have a q for me or Hoss,,just ask.
@@genehunsinger3981 Thanks man, will do.
Yes - sped up footage of Daisy doin her thing would be good..
Noted
Russ, I agree with you. You're doing more than the budget allows for, but your name will be on that Mustang, when it leaves your shop. Great craftsmanship, sir!
Absolutely and you as only as good as the work you put out!
That hood and car is looking fantastic. Your a great bodyman Russ! Like I said it before your attention to detail is second to none. I'm sure the owner is so excited to see how his Mustang is turning out! He is so lucky to have you doing his car. Thank you for the video's
I just hope he realizes the blood sweat and tears put in this car for him and he can be proud of it
@@HotRodGuyGarage I would be honored to have you do my car and I'm sure he is too
@@richhanan218 thank you for the kind words
looking great i bet the owner is starting to get excited
Hope so!
Getting great results Russ!! We are getting close to color!!
Won't be much longer now
I like the high speed segments the way you do them with the sped up sound. I don't like the music most channels use personally... Great video and looking forward to more.
Glad you like them! more coming soon
I bet the cost of materials is pretty high alone not including labor. I love watching your progress, and Daisy too.
Material costs are through the roof now just a gallon (actually 3/4) of this 3m filler is 125.00 local
This car isn’t the same car anymore it’s like 500times nicer - solid metal, straight, reshaped bumpers, shape headlight bezels to match fenders. This car will be better than a daily driver. I would think when it is done it will be driven on sunny days only. Nice video looking for the next Mustang video
Hopefully it will be something he can be proud of for many years to come
@@HotRodGuyGarage I think this car is something you both can be really proud of. As bad as it was, only one who cares about doing things correctly and knowing how to do so could have corrected the endless list of bad fixes and hackery. It is people who care about doing something correctly that sets them apart from the rest.
Really good video. I enjoy the journey
Thank you
Fantastic job, looking forward to the next on.
Thanks, see ya at the next video
The amount of work you've put into this Mustang is amazing! I hope your customer appreciates it! It's going to be a real nice car when it's done!
It's definitely been a journey
I keep hearing that zz top tune as I watched this one… sharp dressed man…. 😂 it’s going to be one awesome car. I’ve enjoyed this project from the beginning. I do like the way you skim coat a large area and the result you end up with is far better than my only doing what I can see which never gets it a good finish, new song just came on in my head, zz top again…. I’m bad I’m nation wide!! Now that’s a great Ford song!!
Right on
Great work. Going to be a nice car when it’s completely built.
That's the plan!
Great job awesome vid. The hood is looking really good. The owner is lucky to have found you.
Thank you, it won't be much longer and we will see some color
WOW, hard to believe that’s the same hacked up Mustang you rolled in the shop a few months ago, can’t wait to see it in some color. ps I like the sped up footage 👍
Doesn't even look like the same car now
It gets the point across
Thanks
Thanks!
Thank you
Looks great.
Thanks!
Day late dolar short cheers 🥂 daisy & Russ excellent 😊😊
No worries glad you made it
@@HotRodGuyGarage 😎
Another good video from ya! I tell you what, you know how to get it all done, Russ. This 'stang has been transformed to a new car pretty much. I salute all of your efforts. You are the boss. 👍
Oh yeah, speeding up some of the tasks, like sanding, is a good thing.
Looking forward to the next video from ya.
Thanks, man.
Thanks Donald, it's starting to shape up quickly hopefully it won't be too much longer and we can start laying down some color
Wow! That car is looking great. I'm excited to see the paint.
You and me both! It won't be long
Your doing such a great job its making me wonder where the rat trap is hiding and this is just a body double. What you've done is just beyond a simple clean up. You have basically built him a new car.
Tell Daisy I hit the like button andsubsribed long ago. Purrrrr.
Will do! She is panhandling for treats 😆
The underside of the hood looks better than some people's final work elsewhere :). The hood scoop attachment looks perfectly OEM. When I do my body work - I will be using your videos as a reference and a refresher. Daisy was doing what a friend of mine says of her cats - "snoopervising" :). Gottah have those important things in life ...
Awesome glad there is things you can take from these!
Looking good . Its getting so close to being done you have brought the car a long way . Cheers
Thanks it's definitely been a journey
Woot woot-get yer comments in
Thanks Gene
I remember what that scoop reminds me of, 1962 Thunderbird. Very similar but functional.
Definitely a similar shape
That was a lot of hard work to make it that straight and good. you are doing what the last person should have done redoing this car.
It would had probably been a lot easier before if they didn't muck everything all up
Love the sped up parts. Love the explanation of why you do things the way you do (the right way) even more. Keep it up!
Glad you like them!
One of these days mine might look that good, but if not, well, one can dream. Waiting to see it color!
Just takes time and dedication, you will get there! I can't wait to see some color on it
Nice
Thanks
That's a hell of a lot of work on the hood do like the moulded in look of the Shelby scoop the hood brace most wouldn't have even repaired good on you Russ for going the extra yards.
Absolutely, I didn't expect any less as much of a fight as the rest of the car has been.
You've done an awesome job on that hood, especially the scoop. Great job, looks like it has always been there. Well done brother.
Thanks, the hood may have a touch more filler then I'd like to see but it sure turned out well, I posted a update on my community page
@@HotRodGuyGarage yeah, I saw your update on the hood. That car is going to look sensational when you've finished with it.
I do enjoy the sped up moments and would like to suggest decreasing the volume during some of the power tool segements.
Daisy is an awesome part of your videos I truly enjoy.
Thanks for the tips!
Loved seeing the belly vice used to hold that hood in place while you pulled the dent. Would work better if you had mine to hold down the other side.!
It's definitely hard to work this stuff loose!
This car's owner may well end up bringing home a few trophies from shows, "driver quality" or not. It will be nice.
I hope so, hope he can be proud of it
You do great work. 👍. Im Looking for 2-7×14 steel rims ford. 😆
There still out there , My parts Torino just has the deeper 6" wheels
Have used the Platinum bondo a fair bit in Aussie Quality product
It's some of the fastest drying hardest filler I've seen
Such as life
True
That hood took a lot to make straight. THAT is why you never let anybody sit on the hood or lean against fenders.
Absolutely
Can’t wait until that 289 is back in, are you doing work on that too ? Or good running condition?
It ran good, may tear it down to give it a clean bill of health
There wasn't anything on this car to need the bending of the brace, but what about the car the hood was on before?
No telling
Closer and closer. Get this done then you can move on to important things like an engine for the Torino. I'm good with the speed up on the video cause it allows you to show more things. Thx!!!
It's going to take me a while to financially recover on the Torino unfortunately but that won't stop seeing what failed
I'm one to believe in what you say and do. When the customer is showing the car to someone and they ask the owner, who did the body work, your name will come up. The person looking at the car can tell if you've done a good job or if you just slapped some bondo on the car, sprayed some paint around and shipped it out the door. We all have seen those cars and I wouldn't want my name associated with a car like that.
Absolutely true
Where did you order the scoop from? Car looks amazing, hope to get my car close to this.
It came from CJ pony parts
Why not just willed up the low spots and grind it off flat
A little roughness holds filler better
Looks like the Cadillac I purchased has no visible dents. Just need to take off the rust starting and get it correct for paint. I decided to forgo the badging. All I will replace is hood ornament, wheel covers and the insert in the taillights. Is it better to match the color inside the trunk, or use the color codes listed in glove box?
It's probably best to have your exterior paint scanned at a local automotive paint store that way it can accommodate for any fading or previous work
@@HotRodGuyGarage What exterior paint? Unless I look in the trunk, there is nothing to match. Seems many early 80's GMs are that way.
Then you maybe using the bottom of the trunk
Russ, you are way too modest. I’m sorry but that is not a driver quality paint job that car will have. That is show quality. You have totally refined every inch of that poor thing and given it a complete new lease on life! I’m not sure which state you are in, but if you are near Alabama, I would love to meet up with you and buy you beer when I come out to visit my family next time. Cheers man!
I just want him to have something he can legitimately be proud of after he took such a beating buying it
@@HotRodGuyGarage what state are you in?
@@phoenixblack1220 SE Tennessee
You’re going to have to start calling it a nice car, it’s come a long way since that first video. It was definitely worse than and I thought and you’re a good dude helping that old guy out. I’m sure whatever he’s paying you is nowhere near what your work is worth. You should give yourself more credit you do good work! I’ve definitely learned from you. Thanks.
It's definitely turned the corner I think. Hopefully it won't be long till we see some color on it.
Great job! Love the balance between sped video and standard. I wish I had your talent! The car is looking great.
Thanks!
Wow, thank you very much
