@Alexander Fomin Polish Communists, including President/First Secretary Bolesław Bierut wanted the Mazurka to be replaced with something more in line with "socialist realism" (they even asked one of the best left-wing poets Broniewski to write lyrics, yet he refused), but Stalin himself told Bierut "Mazurka, it's such a beautiful song" ("Mazurka, eto takaya kharoshaya pyesnia") and so these plans got cancelled. This is why the pre-war Poland, the People's Republic and the Third Republic all have the same anthem.

Some would say Poland is "standing up from knees" only thanks to the new government which I personally do not agree with, however as nationalists, they do fill up the image of "giving back honour" and by that, giving back the somehow lost identity.
