This arrangement for solo piano by Earl Wild is just exquisite, ensuring all the heart-breaking emotion in the music is fully communicated to the listener. Liszt once said that “mournful and grand is the destiny of an artist”, seemingly referring to the large proportion of artists who have suffered emotionally and mentally for their art. Sergei Rachmaninoff is known to have been afflicted with depression his whole life, but his is a success story as he seems to have been able to deal with it - and not only did he mostly overcome this disabling burden, his management of it fueled his composing. Perhaps without such pain, he could not have written music as beautiful as 'Vocalise'? But your performance of this music is just a sheer joy to hear, Cole. Your technical brilliance allied with the emotional depth of interpretation you bring to Rachmaninoff's compositions enables us to experience this music in a totally immersive way. Thank you. Thank you.
@@grahamtwist Absolutely! What luck to come across such fine pianist and educator! I subscribed to Patreon right away, hope I can increase the monthly donations in the future.
One of the most beautiful pieces of music...Did you also add your own improvisation toward the end? It sounded so organic, hard to tell. What a talent, Bravo!
You play this so amazingly extremely beautiful I wish there were many more words to describe feelings more rich, your performance is ways beyonds the realistic world
Inspired rendition, Cole. So many interwoven melodies. So Rachmaninov.

Very well put, thank you!
@@nsk5282 I read your comments on Cole's playing and his introductory talks. I think we are both in awe of his genius (I know I am!).

Actually that’s what is written! It does sound like an improvisation-but I can’t take credit for that. Thank you for watching!
